No CM13 Root Option? (Solved) - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on CM13, I was rooted and everything. I had SuperSU installed also. But upon realizing that I didn't need it because CM13 had a root permission manager built in, I uninstalled it. Upon rebooting there is now no option to root in developer settings except through ADB and I'm no longer rooted. Is there anyway to fix this without reinstalling the OS and starting from scratch?

You are rooted, CM comes prerooted. Did you turn on the cm root manager in settings?
Additionally, SuperSU is much better than cm manager, you really should use it.

I did have CM root manager and root enabled in developer settings, but then the option went away and my apps are telling me I'm not rooted. I only have the option to enable root through ADB, as seen in the attached screenshot.

1) stop cross posting
2) you have 2 options. Reflash the Rom and hope it fixes whatever you did to bork it. Or install supersu like you should do anyway.

Sorry, I've been desperate.
I'll look to see if there are any new nightlies and flash them or reflash the one I'm on. Reinstalling SuperSU fixed nothing, although it works. A lot of my root apps (ES file explorer, SELinux mode changer) are still telling me I don't have root, although SuperSU granted them root permission.

Did you flash the supersu zip rather than installing through the store? That should work!

Install busybox installer from the market and install/update busybox. See if that fixes your issues. Also try installing SuperSu from the market, opening it, and updating su binary when it opens.
Did you run the busybox free app?

I installed busybox installer and when I try to install/update it says it failed. As for SuperSu, it doesn't give me an option to update the su binary.

I ran busybox free and it says it's unable to verify whether or not certain utilities needed for this app to run are present and functional on my device. This problem could be caused by a device that is not properly rooted or by superuser settings that are misconfigured

Likely not but thought i'd ask - Did you update to 4.1.1 after initially rooting?

Did you have the apps that use root before you rooted? I've noticed with some apps (that work with and without root) sometimes dont register that root is installed on your device so perhaps you should try redownloading them from the play store.

I've had the apps for a while on my droid x but I waited until after I rooted to also install them on the N7. I also tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them but they still don't work.

When you take an update it unroots your device. Re-root it with the tool and you'll be fine.

He should've used voodoo over the air rootkeeper to back up n save his root. So once you update, you can easily restore rot with one click in that app instead of having to use roottoolkit again.

I feel like a moron especially since I froze the updater on my droid x, I'll give it a try when I get home from work, is there anything special I should do or will I just have to click the root button?

[Q] Apps lost root acces after reboot

So my nexus 4 is rooted and running 4.2.2 stock rom with franco r83 kernel.
Everything was running great, until today I had to reboot my nexus. Since then I can't get any app root acces. I've rebooted a couple of times now but no advance.
What to do? Reinstall superuser or something?
Open superuser, do you have all apps there? granted permission?

Yes. I just downloaded SU Checker and it says 'su declined / not found'... so the problem is the superuser that got... corrupt or something?
There's a process to change superuser with superSU, I think it's on faux kernel thread.. Try that
Yeah, superSU was what I was talking about.
But I'm totally confused right now, I've download a couple of Root test apps and one is saying I'm not rooted, the others say I am.
I updated to 4.2.2 with some root keeper app, maybe something went wrong there? (although it was working for a couple of days?...)
superuser and superSU are two different apps but they do the same thing.
Some roms / kernels work better with one of them, that's why I'm advising you to change the superuser app.

I was running SuperSU. Now... I guess I'll have to reroot my device? I have like 4 apps telling me I'm rooted and 2 I'm not.

If you mean you have to root again then yes, you need to re root. SuperSU will still be installed but not functional until rooted again. Xposed gets uninstalled. Gapps are still there also, but won't work until HDXposed is activated again.
I think you have to enable OTA before updating or else your Kindle won't update.

I've never experienced reboots enabling Wi-Fi, and I was constantly activating and deactivating it because Wi-Fi wad very unstable and stopped working at random times. With last update Wi-Fi stability, for me at least, was greatly improved. You should try updating and re root.

Towelroot still works perfectly fine to root the latest update.
I've used KFHDX Toolkit v0.94, chosen root via Towelroot but still no luck.
I see towelroot icon in Applications, clicked on it, choose make it ra1n. HDX restart and that's all. How can i install supersu? What must i do?
Thanks for advices

You didn't happen to see the option to install superuser in the toolkit? Otherwise just get it from mobile one market or you could just hit that little search spot in the upper right hand corner and search for supersu and you'll probably find it.

Yes, i've tried it. But i always get this error:
Failure [INSTALL_FAIL_ALREADY_EXISTS]
PS: Because superuser was installed before so i can not install superuser. So went to Applications manager, uninstall superuser and reinstall it via KFHDX tool. SUCCESS!!! Thank you anyway

SM-G901F Need help! "Rooted", but not....

I'm at a loss at the moment guys, I've rooted my s5 with cf-autoroot, everything seemed successful, but apps that require root tell me I need root permissions and need to root my phone...
I've got supersu and can grant permissions when needed, but this does nothing. I've checked root with rootchecker and it says I'm rooted.. Am I missing something really obvious? I've looked around and can't find anything.
If anybody could please help me I'd highly appreciate it!
(Sorry if this was a messy post, I don't tend to post often)
You might try running chainfire again and see if that helps.

You could try powering down the phone, pull the battery and wait 20 seconds. then boot into downloadmode and reflash CF Auto Root and reboot.
I would go with gee's recommendation.

Can't Log in at Snapchat after I installed a custom rom.

Hey guys,
Does somebody have a solution for the fact i can't login at snapchat after i installed a custom rom.
The only way that I can solve this, is to go back to stock. install snapchat. Log in and then flash the custom recovery with custom rom.
Is there an easier way to do this?
That's normally a root issue. What custom ROM did you install? Some Roms have a setting in developers options to enable and disable root. Check if you have those settings, disable root then login to snap chat. Once you're logged in you should be able to re-enable root and continue as normal. Hope this helps
