Problem at S160 android with Here wego maps app. - Android Head-Units

i am using a S160 android v.4.4.4 and installed " Here wego " maps app
i found 2 problems :-
1- when i enter the settings tab i see a blank page without any choices...
2- the part of downloading maps doesn't appeare
anyone has the same problem??
is there a solution for these problems ?
thanks...

You could try changing dpi to 160.

Same thing here...I installed it on my phone, downloaded the maps I wanted, and copied them over to my HU. They're in a hidden directory, I forget the name ATM.
The settings were blank too but you can get to them by tapping the bottom of the screen in navigation mode I think.
Not ideal, but it works...

I will try that way and if i found any problem i will tell you

i think the settings thing is a common issue on these android head units. I know i didn't see it on my Joying. I was able to download maps though.
as a slight workaround, when you are in the map, driving somewhere, you can access settings there

You need to be rooted. Then install any of the dpi changing apps on the play store. You can also install "xposed" and use "app settings" module.

Will xposed app change the app dpi??

I checked where the maps are stored, if changing the DPI doesn't work for you and you need to copy them over from another device.
They are in 'sdcard/Android/data/com.here.app.maps/files/.here-maps/diskcache-v4'
...I just copied the whole directory over. After moving one map you should be able to see the 'download' button on the head unit.
As mentioned, the settings can be accessed by tapping the bottom of the screen in 'drive' or 'navigation' mode.

Just to double check, xposed installer is installed and functioning?
App settings is ticked on in xposed settings?
After finding your app in app settings, dpi is set to 160 then you hit save at the top of app?
If you did all that correctly you should see a difference in window/text size on the application you are trying to display correctly. Try different dpi settings between 160-240.

If you install Here on your phone and download maps they should be there and then you can copy them from your phone to your head unit with a USB stick or SD card or whatever.

Thanks guys for the reply but I resolved this issue by tampering the hosts file.

1. Download Total Commander from Play Store.
2. Install it in your Device.
3. Open Total Commander and goto Root of System. (/ )
4. Open the etc folder.
5. Find the file named "hosts", and hold it for 3 seconds. Choose edit file, and choose Total Commander Text Editor if prompted.
6. Delete everything and paste this at the first line: " 127.0.0.1 localhost". Copy it exactly, dont modify anything.
7. Save the file and overwrite if needed.

Yeah, that's what your host file should have in it. Not sure why there was something else there. My only guess is that you installed a none Google play app that messed with it (I would say don't use that app, it's up to no good).

How to get rid of upgrade nag messages

I am sure this is answered somewhere but it's hard to find. Apologies.
I am on JSS15Q, rooted, TWRP installed with no issues. I would like to permanently get rid of the upgrade nag message (I can temp get rid of it by accepting the upgrade and letting it fail).
I don't see any value in installing the upgrade.
Can you help ?
Thanks.
Get AutoRun Manager from the PlayStore.
Autorun manager - advanced mode, then in settings check 'show system entries' and then find Google services framework, and disable the one with 'system update receiver' in the name.

(a) It will not install because I am rooted and have TWRP (b) too many stories of people with no problems getting them after the update.
For a more major update I would do it but if it aint broke I aint fixing it.

Awesome, thanks! What other notifications is the 'Google Services Framework' responsible for? In other words, if I turn off its notifications, will I miss any other important notifications, besides the firmware update nag??
More easy way.
Long click on the notification - select information and then stop.

Cool, and thanks. Gonna give it a shot. I see two apps called "AutoRun Manager" though. This one and this one. Does it matter which one? Would either work?
EDIT TO ADD: I just tried the first one (as it matched your screenshot.) I went to Settings and enabled "Show system entries" as well as "Enable System app disable." Then when I went to the Google Services Framework and expanded it, I see that "com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService&Receiver" was already disabled. I have never done this before and I'm on stock Android, KitKat 4.4.4, rooted via towelroot. So now I am wondering, does towelroot disable this by default, by any chance? Just wondering if I need to do anything further, and why this would be disabled for me already. Does it get enabled by some other mechanism, when an update is actually out?

Seems to me that would just prevent the notification, but the update would still be downloaded and waiting to install. Am I wrong about that? I want to block any system update entirely (until I am good and ready for it, until Lollipop is properly rooted, etc.) I don't want it to download, I don't want to be nagged about it, I don't want my Nexus 7 to know about it at all. I'm thinking danvee's solution is more in line with that than simply "blocking the notification."

Dialer codes not working any more, due to root?

Rooted my S7E, and just noticed that the common Samsung dialer codes (as *#0*# or even *#06#) do no longer work!
When I enter them into the dialer nothing happens! I used them successfully before!
Only change is that I installed TWRP, root and Viper!
Do dialer codes work on your phone after root?

Yes, it works for me.
That's very strange. Root shouldn't affect those codes as they are generic for all devices.

maybe the feature was turned off during the root process. use a file browser with root permissions and navigate to the lowest level and go to-- /efs/carrier --then long press hidden menu and open it with a text editor. Using capital letters just change the OFF to ON then save it, reboot and try your codes again. :highfive:

I see that. Do you use the stock rom? See if you have the actual apk file in your system apps
if you don't have the apk file I think I can send mine. I'm pretty sure if you manually inset the apk in the system folder and change the permissions to match what the other apps in the folder have it should work. I mean you may have to create a couple other files though like the carrier folder and the document in it.

since Oneplus have stock AOSP based ROM just like Mi A1, it should be the same, or similar.

Using root explorer Go to system/usr/keylayout

I'm trying to match this unit with one of the threads here and it seems like no one is dealing with it, but I may have missed some relevant posts, can you please help me with that? Or maybe you know about other forums where they discuss the unit...
The device has several issues (bottom line: do not buy it, the hardware is okish but the software is horrible) and I'd really like to explore ways to customize it but I'm not even able to connect to it via adb, let alone become root or install a custom firmware...
Seem like no one heard of it. Bad luck.
I'm trying to gain root access and fix some of the bull***, but I'm running short of options.
What I know so far:
Invoking "su" from the command line (or via adb) returns a "not allowed" message;
I have no firmware to patch with magisk;
the amazing temp root does not work, the device is patched.
What else could I try?
I may try the MTK Droid Tools, but I think they use the same exploit used by the amazing temp root so I guess this is not a solution. Moreover they need Windows and I can't connect to the unit with adb in windows, only with Linux (heavens know why, the Universal ADB Drivers says it's all "ok" but adb does not see the device).
Did you get anywhere with it? I just got 825x_pro for my R56 Mini.
Nowhere. There seem to be some info in the 4pda.ru forum (in russian) but I did not dig deep into into.

Where to use the codes?
I got alps 825x_PRO. 10.1" It can't remember settings, video out is not working, lights are not working. Need reload firmware. So far I got 8888, 8877, 8878, for settings. But it won't remember. If anyone can help me where to get firmware. Seller Ossuret Factory Store is bad. Sending videos of different models and useless solutions. Refused to give me the firmware.

Hi,
You have to go to:
- The settings
- "Car infotaiment" and click in the high right corner on the "cogwheel" and you get a little window where you have to type the numbers (example: 5678; 8888, ....etc ) And you get the hidden menu !

Yup this was my experience of "Fake Device Software" Could it mean it is fake? I downloaded another and found the device advertising it's self as Android 10 but with an API level of 28 which relates to Android 9 or wear devices so ???
