normally with the factory Huawei launcher
if you long hold the square down it goes into split screen mode. Now it just says not supported while I'm running the Nova Launcher. Maybe it will work in Nova Launcher Prime which is $4.99

Can do a rotate on home screen, need some setting.
Zoom out at home tap more> auto rotate.

The factory launcher does not rotate the home screen, even when auto-rotate is enabled

It's easy enough to just back out of the Nova Launcher to use the split screen real quick if I need to. Thanks for everybody's feedback

I am on nova prime and split screen and auto rotate works

Are you long holding the square button to access that function?

the default factory launcher rotate as well
make a pinch in with two finger on the home screen then, go to "other settings". in The other settings you have the possibility to enable the rotation.

[Q] Nova Launcher darkens the screen?

Hey is it normal, that the nova launcher darkens the screen?
I think normally one wouldn't notice it, but I have AOKP installed and made my stat and navbar completely transparent.
And now the region of the stat and navbar is a lot brighter than the rest of the screen.
If I stop nova launcher I can't see the "stripes" anymore and the whole screen has the same brightness.
go into the nova settings>desktop>show shadow and untick it

thank you very much!

Is this normal for Nova Launcher Prime to do this?

I know this may sound really stupid but it is really bugging me now.
I have set nova on transparent bar. When I unlock my phone (using stock lockscreen), the notification bar flashes very fast and goes back to transparent. I'm not sure if I explained myself right.
Does your nova do this? Thankssssss.

No, but you might be using some kind of home proxy, i.e one that launches home from inside an app when you hit the home button.
Open Nova settings and check the default home is actually Nova.

Once you download and launch nova. There will be some widgets on your home screen prompting you to restore your layout from either a previous nova backup or a different launcher. Just create yourself a backup within go launcher (if it has that option) then restore from that backup. It may not restore everything depending on widgets you have currently but you won't have to start from scratch. I use nothing but nova prime.

Installed, instant home button fix, and the beta didn't alter any of my other Nova settings. Now to play with the new options. Nice find!

Stupid question. What was the home button bug? I use Nova and never noticed anything funny with pressing home.

If you hit home in an app it would take you back to the launcher home screen instead of the screen you were previously on. Seems a very small thing to me but it apparently drove some people crazy.

Oh, that's why it doesn't do that on my nexus! I prefer it that way myself. Guess I'll have to load up my old version and maybe email the dev to see if we could have that as an option.

If you were on your home screen in an app and hit the home key it would open up the page selection instead of going back to home. It was a double action bug. The software thought you were hitting the key twice. If you aren't on your home screen in an app and hit the home key it brings you back to the previous screen then hit the home key again for home, that's how its intended to work.

Another problem is that in many third party launchers, there is a specific function that can happen if you hit home while already on the default home screen. Most good launchers will have a way to turn this off, but often the functionality is useful - say, it can show all of your home screens in smaller images at the same time, so you can choose one without having to slide to one that is many screens away. The Aviate launcher toggles a particular function on and off when you press home, so, on the Droids, it now quickly toggles back and forth, making pressing home useless.
It doesn't drive me crazy, but I do find it mildly annoying that I can't go back to my default home when I'm in Nova launcher. I'm actually more annoyed that it's taken five-plus months (and counting) to get it fixed.

Home screen swipe left?

I've always used 5 home screens; the main screen, 2 to the left, and 2 to the right. With my new Turbo 2, it appears that swiping left does absolutely nothing? Is there any way to change that?
I know I can download Nova or another 3rd party launcher, but I like the notification count on apps like gmail that i don't think is available on non-stock launchers. Thoughts?
Thanks!
That's default behavior of Android launcher, since LP I think. Just checked AOSP on my tablet and is the same. CM on my phone can set another second screen to be home so you' get left and right screen from home.
You can use notification count on Nova premium. All you need to do is download tesla unread and it will give notifications for text email even whatsapp

Yup, Nova rules.

Yeah it has so many features I love the swipe down to open notifications anywhere on the screen. Makes it easier on a larger phone not having to reach all the way to the top.

which launcher everyone using with LG v 20 ?

In your opinion Popular/Best launcher to use with this phone ?
I like Apex or Nova Launcher. Super customizable and stable. They have gestures which let you put all that screen real estate to good use.
The best for me!
The best for me is BuzzLauncher. I have been using it for 2 years already
i use Nova Launcher Prime...well worth it.

Action Launcher 3 skinned to work mostly like the pixel launcher... But with swipe from the left edge to open Google now in absence of assistant, and with double tap of the home screen to open the camera.
Nova Prime is my dd!
+1 Nova Prime. I'm going to experience the V20 as it is when I get it, perhaps for a few days. Then, time to customize!

I dont know the others but Buzz Launcher does. Also Next launcher, TSF Launcher, and Go launcher do too. (TSF is not being updated anymore, so you will probably discard it, although it is REALLY GOOD TOO)

The stock one is pretty cool, like an iPhone basically. I will probably use Nova Prime though.
