Once we have root, is it possible to port Note 7 Camera over? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey all. I love the Note 7 camera program. Due to that and the fact that the front camera of the V20 has no flash, can the note 7 camera app be ported over? It looks like to me the Note 7 front flash is software based and not an actual flash. Correct me if im wrong.

No.

Not at all.

As I understand it, the Samsung camera is pretty tightly bound to the Samsung ecosystem.

Lol

I really wish there was something that could be done with the speed of the note camera too. Guess Ill have to wait and see how the Note 2's camera pans out and decide from there

Hardware issue, the nexus can do zero shutter lag, means take photo to photo, u only need zero second, but note's hardware didnt that good, zero shuuter lag is one of selling point on nexus when it release

I was using the nexus before swapping over to the note and I can vouch that the camera speed on the nexus is very fast. Now if only the note had this feature
I have also had the opportunity to test out the camera on the S3 and the features are awesome.

So the problem is in CPU? BUT you allways can save picture in your RAM and then in ROM. as it saves Fast Burst Camera N7000 has 1000Mb of RAM you can take a lot of picture before it run out.
Wasnt Note released after the Gnex? Shouldnt the Note have had a zero shutter lag camera too..
Nexus was released November 17, 2011
The Galaxy Note was announced by Samsung during IFA 2011 in Berlin
Camera should work correct.

I guess the One X has 'zero shutter lag', my gf has it and it's scary quick at taking photos.
The Notes camera is fine for me but I suppose it depends on what your taking pictures of.

This. I take my One X whenever I go to an amusement park or some event where I need to snap super quick pictures of my kids.
I find that my Note with JB Camera+ takes better quality pictures, but the One X beats it hands down for speed.

Nexus 4 13MP camera module

Hi is't possible to buy a LG Optimus G 13MP camera module and put it to our Nexus 4? They say Nexus 4 and LG Optimus G has almost identical hardware.?!
Wouldn't the 13 MP OG have a different camera connector then the Nexus? If we did manage to get the hardware connection, the drivers and libraries are going to have to be ported to use the module... I've actually heard that the 13 MP module actually takes worse pictures then the 8 MP module anyway... Megapixels aren't everything
Even if you could switch the cameras the Nexus 4 doesn't have the necessary software to utilize the camera's potential like on the Optimus G.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Optimus G ROM might already have the drivers to utilize the hardware of an Optimus G. The developer even said himself that almost nothing was edited in the port

I don't know if you ask me.... Try and post results

Very disappointed with back camera quality

As said in the title...
Here are my results... https://plus.google.com/108758880122370937236/posts/8jbVpuv3M7m I don't want to use the tablet as a camera but at now it's my only Photosphere device and I'd like to get something better.
Have you had any luck with camera quality?

I don't think the picture is bad at all. Remember, it's only 5mp.

I didn't expect a lot, so I'm not disappointed. I did do a comparison of cameras on old and new Nexus 7:

The back camera certainly seems to be a lot redder in the same light as the front camera.
Considering the size of the lens - those are pretty nice pictures. You might need an SLR with a big chunk of glass for what you want.

I think the pictures look good : shrugs:

It's what I expected from a 5 megapixel camera. That's why they still cameras .
I'll assume you are right
Not a big SLR, compact cameras would do the job
Inviato dal mio Nexus 7 usando Tapatalk 4
It's alright with good lightning. Other then that, I agree the camera is horrible. Keep in mind it's 5mp, you should of already knew that before you bought it.

At least Asus & Google had include the back camera unlike the first generation.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Lol. It's a tablet. If you want a great camera sorry but like I did... You have to buy a camera! The camera isn't bad for it being a cheap tablet that does a billion different things and also has a 1080p screen.

Galaxy note 7 to do always on display

Hi everyone
I was wondering if the feature that the Samsung galaxy note 7 has were you can take a note without putting on your screen exists for other devices with an amoled screen like my Nexus 6p? If not, do you think it would be possible to make this with Tasker?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Free mobile app
I don't think so because of hardware and also of firmware. Samsung roms are based on Touchwizz. But maybe someone can try to port this feature.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Yep, seems only for Samsung Note for now....

Any LG G6 camera ports?

I'm not sure if this is just me totally wishful thinking or not? Just curious if anyone has heard of any development or ports of the LG G6 camera? I'm from the Note 4 and was spoiled from so many camera ports.
I'm on sprint, but my question is for any variant or port to V20.
Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk
Id say what's the point as our camera still has the best options, just needs tweaking which I think some one already has in Apps section.
Sent from my LG-H990 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
A bit early for this question, don't you think?
8 weeks on... any port yet?
Not that I'm bothered, more curious. The V20 camera is already superb.
