Can I install TWRP using CWM ? Old 5.1 Sensation rom currently installed - K3 Note General

Hi , I am thinking of upgrading to [ROM/6.0] Androium VUI 1 , but I assume I need to install twrp as [ROM/6.0] Androium VUI 1 is not installable with CWM
BUT my big question , can I simply download TWRP to my SDcard , run CWM and then install TWRP ?
Also can someone post a working link to a suitable CWM installable version of TWRP pls.
If so would that affect my currently installed 5.1 android rom ?
TYI

I used flashify from play store to change my recovery I downloaded twrp to SD and flashify does the rest

LG g3 D858HKL ROM and tools to flash back to 10d

Hi guys, after spending ages trying to get the right files to Downgrade, then waiting 12 hours to download the correct firmware from Chinese forums that D/L at 20kbps - I ahve decided top share my Dropbox folder with you so you can access all you need
This is all you need to Downgrade the 858HK to 10d, then root it and install TWRP (I used Flashify off the PLAY STORE to install TWRP)
I hope this helps (if it does say thanks)

1. Downgrade to KK (10d in my case) TOT file (Thanks to DomFel http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...oogle-t2906602)
2. Root it with Stump-v1.2.0 and install SuperSu.apk
3. Install TWRP 2.8.1.0 using this apk (there are few words in Chinese when you open apk but very intuitive) D858_TWRP_2.8.1.0
4. Download and install the zip recovery format of the Lollipop rom via TWRP d858hk-v20d_ok.zip MD5: b6fe9ac019a49aab5fbff74787e4806a (Thanks to bbs.gfan forum)
5. Flash via recovery UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Once TWRP 2.8.1.0 is installed you can also upgrade it to twrp-2.8.5.1_d858-bumped

[Q] Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 running android lollipop problem with SuperSU

I recently rooted my device SM-N900 running android lollipop
SuperSU cannot update Binary .. it shows installation failed and when I reboot my device I stuck on boot loop and I have to re-flash official firmware again
help plz
The best way to install SuperSU and update the binary is from recovery. Just go to whatever custom recovery you have (I use TWRP myself), install the latest SuperSU zip package (version 2.46 is the latest AFAIK) from there. I am sure you know where to get the SuperSU zip from.
There will be no need to update or install anything from your ROM after you have done the above.

[Q] Updating TWRP

Thanks for your response bro but as the instructions here https://twrp.me/devices/lgg2.html
state I must be already using version 2.8.4 in order to follow the update process. As I said I am currently running 2.7 so I suppose I can't just flash the newer version..

Cannot install Android 7.1 (Jiayu S3 MT6752)

Hello,
I tried to install the new Nougat rom for jiayu S3, but it was unsuccessful. Phone got soft bricked, but I recovered it with a twrp backup.
My OS is android 4.4.4, and TRWP is 2.8. After installing the new rom , an installation error appeared and phone did not work.
I wonder it it's due to twrp 2.8, but I can't install twrp 3 (S3_h560_TWRP_3.0.2-0). There was an installation error with flashify...
The question is: can I install 7.0 from 4.4? Is it an Android problem, a TWRP issue, or just my clumsiness?
Thank you!

in short:
To go from 4.4.4 to Nougat you need to go via LP RC5 via flashify using firmware upgrade.
This is because the partition layout is different from KK to LP onwards.
Then you can flash Nougat using TWRP (which will be version 3)
Thank you very much for your answer.
Please forgive me for my ignorance but, which LP ROM should I download? Can I install it via flashify, via TWRP 2.8, o flash?
Thank you again!
You can not use Flashify, you have to do it using Flashtools (with a PC) to go from KK to LP. Download LP 5.1.1 RC 5 from MAD.

thanks to correct me, I thought Flashtools was meant
Well, I'm in trouble now... I installed successfully 5.1 in my S3, but when updated twrp 2.8 to 3.0, it did not work, so I can't install Nougat...
Now I have no twrp, and no root. How can I root to install twrp? I can't install superSU neither....
I'm sorry if it has been already answered but I can't find it.
Thanks a lot
I re-installed LP with Flash tools and everything worked right. (In twrp , it says 2.8 version, instead of 3.0, though).
Now I installed Nougat, and everything is ok.
Thank you for your excellent job!

step 1, root your phone first if it's not rooted yet.
step 2, install "flashify" (from play store) to flash stock recovery or twrp.
