how do i deodex my rom?

i want to deodex my rom on s4 4g model, how can i do this is there a tool to do this? the galaxy s4 toolkit only allows you to reodex but not deodex
can anyone provide me with a way of doing this? i have the latest official firmware and it is rooted
Just flash a deodexed rom. It's easier. There are roms that don't wipe.

As mentioned above. Easiest way.
if i flash a deodexed rom over my odexed rom, will this be ok? the firmware is exactly the same though
how will this if at all affect the phone?
It won't affect anything but the odexed apps that will be replaced with deodexed ones. Don't forget to backup your rom via rom manager or from recovery mode.
And btw it all depends on the rom you want to flash. Cuz some roms don't have bloatware or Google apps installed.

I think that changing from a odexed rom to a deodexed rom is recommended to do a full wipe.
Make a backup and wipe, it isn't hard.
Or just go for it, without wiping. If you see any problems, do the wipe (and use the backup I recommend doing anyway).

can someone advise please?

Hi
I have a new galaxy s4 on contract (unrooted, stock). I would like to try out some of the custom roms from this forum.
This will affect my warranty, counter etc.
I can use the Rom Manager app to take a backup of my system as it is now, If I need to take my galaxy s4 back to the store for
repairs etc., would a restore of this Rom Manager backup leave the phone EXACTLY as it was when I got it? including rom counter etc?
Would it also work on Kies? (I haven't used Kies yet but I understand that it recognises that a phone has been rooted / had custom
roms applied.
thank you

You have to flash custom recovery in order to flash custom rom, it means that your binary counter will increase, you can run triangle away if you have I9505 with no new firmware, then flash your stock rom before send it to warranty

Hi samersh72
thanks for the quick reply. Sorry but I'm not clear on it.
Are you saying that after flashing custom rom(s) I cannot reset the phone by restoring the Rom Manager backup I took before flashing custom roms? Why is that?
If that's the case:
I think triangle away on the gs4 only works on stock roms? Does that mean that to reset the phone I would have to flash stock rom first and then run triangle away?
Would the flashing / triangle away also remove root?

Sir you have a lot of reading to do. Have a look in the stick thread section for guides, tutorials and explanations. There are new security measures that will render your phone out of warranty with no way of returning it to stock condition. Read well.

1) root
2) flash custom recovery
3) make the nandroid backup for your stock firmware.
4) play with custom roms
5) restore your stock firmware, run triangle away, unroot, send it to warranty.
triangle away does not remove root. unroot by flashing stock.
PS. triangle away does not run on new firmwares. MH8, 6, GG ...
avoid flashing them at this moment. once flashed, you can not downgrade due to the locked bootloader

Totally agree!
I cannot emphasise how important reading is before you do anything! Read read and read again! It'll save you stress in the future, believe me!

[Q] Rom Question

HI
I am thinking of switching Roms i am currently on stock 4.2.2 XXUBMGA and i have a few questions.
1) I have read alot about Knox and i am still not sure how to know wich rom has it and wich does not. For instance is the latest WanamLite rom safe?
2) After flashing, i would like to be able to have my device up and running as i like it, as quick as possible(apps, launcher and settings) is there a way to restore to the exact same state (icon arangments ect..)? if yes, could you please point me to a detailed guide i have titanium pro but i am not sure how to do this.
Thank you in advance.

1) custom roms like wanamlite will not trigger the knox count.. so it is safe
2) you can use titanium pro to backup all the previous apps you had. just click on the right arrow at the top and click on backup all user apps
Thank you

Where do I get the stock LG apps after flashing custom ROM?

Sorry, a noob question. But I really like some apps in the LG stock rom, is there a way I can get them back after I flashed the CM10.2? Titanium Backup may work, but that thread told us avoid using backup apps.
Any suggestions would help. Thank you.

Ask in the correct thread or the creator of this CUSTOM ROM. It comes * Rooted / Deodexed / Zipaligned / Busybox.
