Install twrp on G935P - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I am having an issue trying to download twrp on my sprint edge 7. I cannot find the right directions to download the recovery. I have rooted the phone but cannot get twrp to install. Please i could use some help. I thought i got it but when i go into recovery it gives me the security error. Any help?

To my knowledge, twrp isn't available for our devices yet, and due to how tightly locked down the bootloader is, we may not get it. Not even sure where you'd have found a download link for it unless you flashed twrp for a different device

So we cannot flash roms on the sprint 7edge?

[Q] HELP with installing TWRP

Hi,
Long story short. I had TWRP 2.5.0.2 with my SGH-I377 (Galaxy S4 AT&T). I used it to flash this GE ROM by Maddog (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340783)
After flashing, the ROM works just fine without issue. The Model Number in the about phone section however showed to be GT-I9505G, but I didn't mind too much since it works flawlessly in everyway. When I tried to update TWRP to 2.6.3.0, GooManager downloaded the wrong img due to this (it was my fault for not looking at the version before clicking yes). But now after reboot, i can't get into TWRP recovery anymore, it keeps saying "System software not authorized by ATT has been found on your phone". I was able to bypass by going to download mode and cancel to boot back into my old GE ROM. But now I can't seem to find away to get the correct TWRP version back on the phone.
I can download the correct img from this site, put it on my internal/ext SD, but I can't find a way to install it from within GooManager or from a File Manager.
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/jflteatt
I need some assistance with instructions on how to install TWRP manually from an img file. Or from a tar file using ODIN if anyone has the link to necessary files and instructions on how to do it. At this point, it doesn't even have to be 2.6.3.0, I'll be just happy to get 2.5.2.0 back.

You won't be able to install it with Goo Manager. Head over the the TWRP website and find your phone that way, and grab the flashing zip file and just flash it in recovery. I had the same issue a few weeks ago.
After some more digging, I was able to find a solution.
For anyone who runs into this problem...I was able to use Quick Flasher from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694617 , then choose the flash a new recovery using the correct TWRP img
Everything is good now, I am able to get into TWRP recovery 2.6.3.0

You can get it right here

That's straight from the horses mouth there. I didn't read much into it, but it looks like they have a odin flashable version. Also make sure that the newest version of TWRP doesn't conflict with the ROM your using. I have read quite a few where the latest version causes issues.

I337mvlufnc1 bootloader - What are my options?

I picked up a used GS4 JFLTECAN and the battery life on the stock rom is brutal, so I would really like to try something else. I have flashed recoveries kernals and roms before on other devices but have never had to deal with these "locked" boot loaders.
I have the I337mvlufnc1 bootloader and the most recent Android 5.0.1 OTA update from Rogers. My ROM and modem are I337MVLUGOH1
Can I ODIN TWRP at this point? Or will I brick my device?
Here's how I wound up at this point.
I have managed to root by odining SuperUserSU.zip by following these instructions; http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j...4gA4TauS3dXnXcIOA&sig2=MHLMfY4z5M21bgTArDKniQ
I installed wakelock detector and a root uninstaller for bloatware as well as greenify to take advantage of root and try to fix battery drain issues. However I did something wrong and now whenever I boot "Package Access Helper" and "System UI" both unfortunately stop. I am also being prompted to select a homescreen every time I boot (touchwiz variants)
Rather than factory resetting to the stock firmware I would prefer to get on something different. any help is appreciated.

From my understanding with that bootloader is that it will prevent you from downgrading to say 4.3 etc etc. To be extra Safe, have stock firmware files from sammobile handy, but you should be good..... Don't quote me on it tho lol
He was successful on twrp flash, anyone watching this lol, all i337m unlocked
So If anyone else gets a used galaxy s4 here is the procedure to root and install custom recovery with the most recent OTA updates installed. There is no need to worry about any locked bootloader or anything.
Step 1: get root with Odin
http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&...5M21bgTArDKniQ
go to twrp.me
Step 2: flash twrp 2.8.4.0 with Odin
Step 3: flash twrp 2.8.7.0 (or a newer version if one is available) via twrp itself. After 2.8.4.0 TWRP only has .img files released which are to be flashed directly from twrp.
Step 4: Flash a rom.

Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G360P TWRP issues

Hello everyone,
I am posting today to bring up the subject of the SM-G360P variant of the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.
I am having issues with getting TWRP custom recovery to work properly on my device. I am able to flash twrp-3.0.2-0-coreprimelte.img onto my device and it works except for 2 things that i have noticed that makes me very upset and i cant figure out what to do. When i enter recovery mode the back light does not function so i have to use a bright flashlight to see any of the options and the second problem is the GUI is upside down but the button mapping is in the proper place so i have to guess on where to tap on my screen. This makes it very frustrating to use especially when i want to wipe dalvik cache and the regular cache. I accidentally factory reset my device once by tapping the wrong spot. If anyone would be willing to help me out with my problem i am willing to be a guinea pig with anything you can try for the custom recovery to make the GUI reflect the proper button mapping and the back light to work. I can re-flash my device as many times as necessary to get a working custom recovery. I have included the recovery.fstab and the stock recovery along with the version of TWRP custom recovery i have been utilizing to an extent.
I am using the BST Australian variant of SM-G360P which can be rooted with Kingo Root and KingRoot. I used Kingo Root so i could use the SuperUser app rather than just using KingRoot. I have used CROM Service to unlock my bootloader. I have also tried to use CWM custom recovery on my device but it does not register the CWM custom recovery that is available for my device it just goes to a "fake" Odin mode screen. I would really love to get TWRP custom recovery working properly. I have tried to port both TWRP and CWM custom recoveries by using Android Image Kitchen but have not had any success at creating a recovery that works without the same issues i have with TWRP custom recovery. I am running 4.4.4 KitKat OS which is the latest update for SM-G360P and have full root permissions. If you need any other dump files or any other information i will gladly give it to you. I may need directions on how to do some things though.
I will be greatly appreciative if someone would have a look at what the problem may be with TWRP custom recovery and my Variant of SM-G360P. Please help. Thank you for your time and contribution.
Hello @sosthenisRR. I just got this device, the Boost Prevail LTE American version. I was wondering if you've made any headway finding a TWRP for it. I will be trying some things myself... Gotta have TWRP... And I wanted to let you know that if you root with kingroot, super-sume (free version) works to get you supersu.
Odin TWRP 2.8.7.0 for the SM-S820L...it works, i tried V3 as well with no favorable results.

If that doesn't work, install and run this apk, this is what finally allowed me to Odin TWRP to my G360P without errors. Now if only we could get a custom ROM for this variant...

Unable to install custom roms

I have a Tab E 8 (SM-T377P) and I cannot get any version of TWRP new than 2.8.7.0 to flash, Magisk will not flash, and no custom roms will install.
I've tried both lineage 15.1 and 16, both the standard and GO versions.
It's on stock firmware, 5.1
I rooted with cfautoroot with Odin 3.10.7.
Hopefully someone has an idea on what I need to do.
:edit:
I was able to get magisk installed by rerooting with cfautoroot and then doing a full unroot and restoring bootimage with supersu. Still can't install any roms though
So I was able to update to Nougat using the rom posted in this thread. It was the ONLY place I was able to find the stock firmware. I was hoping that installing 7.1.1 would put me on a new bootloader/kernel that might allow me to install an Oreo rom.
Still, the only TWRP that I can get to boot is the one posted in this thread, which is 2.8.7. The dev posted links to 3.0.2-1 that do not work, but I've tried multiple different versions of TWRP, and they all boot loop and I have to reinstall 2.8.7 via Odin.
All roms say that they are intended for SM-T377P and cancel, although my device is exactly that.
So, after doing a total wipe and flash back to stock 7.1.1 using Odin, I was able to boot back into Download mode and install the latest version of the TWRP posted in this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...official-lineageos-16-0-galaxy-tab-e-t3847488
Still won't let me install a custom rom though...
Alright got it up and running on Lineage 16.
I bought this off of eBay to use as a dashboard for my smart home. When I opened it and put it into download mode for the first time, I noticed that it said it was running a custom binary even though everything looked bone stock, it wasn't even rooted. I didn't pay it any mind and went about trying to root it and install TWRP as the dew guides stated. Nothing would work, so I decided to upgrade it to stock 7.1 since it was on 5.1. After I did this, I noticed that in download mode it stated that it was on stock binary and I was able to update to the most recent TWRP for this device. Then I was able to install Lineage and all is well now.
This thread doesn't appear to be getting any traction, but I figured I'd update it in case someone searches a similar issue in the future.

Thank you for documenting your progress.
I am in a similar situation.
I am the original owner of my t377p.
I'm going to try your steps to see if it will work for me.
UPDATE:
Flashing back to Stock and starting the process all over again, as you described above--fixed the problem. I am now running LineageOS16.
Thank you!
I'm glad it worked for you!
That's exactly why I updated the thread, I knew I wouldn't be the last one have this odd issue.
Do you have a copy of twrp the servers are down and I've been trying for week to download it

[HELP] Cannot update TWRP

I have an LG V20 H910 dirty unlocked, rooted, and currently using LOS 16
I bought this phone 8 months ago for the sake of me tweaking with it, but unfortunately it didn't go well
The first thing i noticed was the screen ghosting, then the phone is very slow on stock ROM (H910PR 10f i think), so i rooted the phone and installed TWRP
I did installed the Stock Oreo ROM but i still decided to clean flash LOS 15.1 then dirty flashed LOS 16, and here i am still my current ROM is LOS 16.
I need to install the latest TWRP for me to theoretically install Gamma kernel (cuz mine just goes stuck to fastboot after, i dunno why)
So i thought maybe my TWRP is outdated, so i want to update it, but i can't, it is stuck on fastboot after, just like the kernel
I'm currently on @Phoenix591 TWRP 3.2.3-1 and this is literally as far as i can go, because anything later than that (like the lastest 3.3.1-1 or even just 3.2.3-4) bricks my phone to fastboot.
Can anyone help me with this, please?
Download the newest version from the TWRP thread, and then in your TWRP, hit "install" and then select to install by .img and not .zip and you should be able to flash that way. Otherwise do it through fastboot which I can help you with if you need to. Let me know.

just for kicks (it won't hurt anything, but chances arn't great it'll help... but its something), does the us996 variant of twrp do the same thing?
There's basically no difference besides what the device calls itself (and some minor kernel options) for the purposes of checking what roms should be allowed to flash.
Also just to cover our bases, have you double checked the md5sum of the downloaded ATT twrp image and ensured it matched what android file host shows for it? (if the download was corrupted in such a way as to prevent it from booting properly it might end up going into fastboot from THAT)
