Hey everyone, just wanted some feedback regarding an issue I began having this week with my X Compact.
Issue: The phone is not as responsive during the unlocking process as it once was. I used to simply swipe to unlock and the phone would immediately unlock with a simple swiping motion. Now, the phone requires a harder swipe before it unlocks.
Any ideas?
Facts: 1) Smartlock is activated, 2) Phone has not been dropped or been damaged by water, 3) No other hardware or software issues are a concern at the moment, 4) The lock screen option is on "Swipe", 5) Phone is running the latest software (November security update), and 6) the regular Sony launcher is being used.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you

Any way to disable the screen activating when I change volume levels?
I will change the volume with the phone in my pocket, but often times they way I hold the phone will result in either accidentally unlocking it via fingerprint scanner (UK firmware FTW) or my palm will set it to max volume by accident.
Thanks, in advance!

Is this a problem?

I just got this tablet recently, not too much surprise since i am already user android 2.2 rom on x10
But i notice there is time where this tablet fail to respond to touch command say after a long timeout. As in i can't move the bubble to unlock the screen at all
I tried to turn it off and the pop up wasn't even responsive at all to touch.
Is this a failure on my tab alone or anyone else have the same problem ?
Also it is common for the tablet to have a slow respond to screen switch and rotate a lot ? I found my tablet go portrait mode even lie down (i want it to be landscape).
please indicate what version you are running and what kernel.
i have no such problems running 3.1 upgraded tu .38
Wrongfeifong from The Order of the Silver Hand? If so Korgana here cool that you got this same tablet lol.
I've not had any problems like that yet.
No, I havn't had any issues and if you want to be landscape use the rotation lock switch, it's beside the volume butons.

Sorry, had to.... anyway, if you are running 3.0 and not 3.1 it could be the "Removal from Charger" issue and causes it to lock up? I dunno, like the others said, what is your current version?
I just got it right out of the box and never update
3.0.1 android version
2.6.36-0001 kernel
and hey small world isn't it? yea i am the same person from silver hand.

Irresponsive area on the touchscreen

Hi everyone,
Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules. I've also searched and didn't found anything related to the problems I'm having.
As the title stated, my N4's touchscreen doesn't respond to touches on a certain area specifically the bottom area where the nav bar is. I was on Paranoid Android when it happened and flashed stock just to see whether it'd solve anything but despite the effort, it's still there. I figured that it might be a hardware problem since I did dropped the phone a couple of times. At first, it was only within the nav bar area but just recently, I dropped it again (thank God nothing cracked) while answering a phone call and the broken area just increased up to where the spacebar is.
I've been thinking about opening it and check the digitizer connection but I figured I could get the community opinions about it first. It's hard for me to RMA it because I live in Malaysia but bought it from the US last November (I'm not sure how the warranty covers anyway). If there's any options that I can try without having to open the phone, or what ever it is, just post it. I'm more than glad to hear about it.
Here's a couple of screenshots(man, the pictures are huge!) :-
Swiped downward and just above the irresponsive area.

This one, I swiped up from the bottom of the screen, you can see that it doesn't detect anything down there.
Lastly, this is before the recent drop. You can see that it's just around the nav bar area.
Thank you very much.

Strange touch related issue with homescreen - LG V20

** I first posted this in Android Q&A, as I'm not sure if this is a device specific problem, but there weren't any answers to be had there - so I'm hoping that somebody here knows how to get rid of this extremely irritating bug. **
I somewhat recently got an LG V20. (H990DS)
Quite soon I became aware of the following issue:
Several times per day, when turning on the screen, either through fingerprint or pattern, the homescreen doesn't respond to touch.
I've activated "show touches" in the developer menu, and it show that the touches are being registered by the screen, but nothing at all happens.
Horrible stuff caught on camera:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If I first press the home key, then everything works as it should. It's like there's some kind of invisible overlay on the homescreen that intercepts the touches. It's also possible to pull down the status bar while the homescreen is non-responsive. Selecting anything in the notifications resets the homescreen to a working state.
Swiping the notifications up without selecting anything preserves the homescreen in the non-touch-responding state.
Things I've tried:
Factory reset
Rooting/downgrading ROM
Other launchers than stock: Nova, Next Laucher 3D Shell
Checking accessibility settings
Why u do me this horrible thing, Android?
So I'm all out of ideas. I've held off on using this phone as my daily driver because of this horrible nuisance.
I'm hoping that someone here has an idea about what's going on.

6T - all audio has defended

Something has changed and now all audio (Bluetooth and speakers) have gotten really quite, about half as loud at max volume, maybe a bit less.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls this, or anywhere i should check?
Running stock except that it is rooted with Magisk, have the latest update (it might have started happening since that update, but I'm not entirely sure)

Normally max volume would blow my ear drums, but I'm barely hearing anything at max now :/
Interestingly, the instructions given here seemed to help with my Bluetooth audio:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-can-i-increase-bluetooth-volume.3359321/post-83685915
But when they are disconnected and connected again, the volume level is different :/ and also, each ear is a different volume (1more true wireless connect as two audio devices)
@mattisdada Hi! As you've posted in the Oneplus 6 forum but your thread title states "6T" just the question if your device is a OP 6T? If latter is the case, do you want me to move your thread to the Oneplus 6T forum?
Oh, sorry, that'd be lovely if you could

Thread moved to OP6T. However, I've just found your reply by accident. If you want to alert somebody then either quote (by use of the "reply" button) or mention (by writing the member's user name with an @ directly in front of the name like I did now for you @mattisdada ).

Flashing a custom ROM on a ZED AN817DK?

Hey fellas,
I've done some flashing on android before, but only on smartphones, instead of a car multimedia. My model is ZED AN817DK.
It looks like this:

The launcher it came with is kinda disgusting, so I installed Nova Launcher instead.
Regardless, the system barely works, even on the stock settings / factory reset status.
Apps are crashing, changing the audio option in Waze takes a whole 2 minutes to even open up the menu for the option
(the app works but the input is unresponsive for 2 minutes until the menu appears).
I've tried contacting the shop I bought it in and they sent me a "firmware" update in the form of an APK file that will not launch in the device. I don't think I saw an option in it's administrator settings or anywhere else to update firmware via file (only check for firmware update - and it's always "up to date").
So I think I'll resort to flash a custom rom on this. I'm a bit worried since in the scenario where things go wrong I rely only on a pen hole style reset button which I don't fully trust to reset successfully if a custom rom is installed.
Is there a general flashing guide for these devices? How safe is it, as in what are the chances of completely bricking the device?
Are there general or common roms that work well on these devices?
