T-Mobile told me they are recalling the Note 7 with no replacement. - T-Mobile Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

I called Tmobile because of a bill mistake and the lady on the phone told me they will be issuing a recall without a replacement Note. I'm kinda angry my Note 5 only had 275 dollars on it. I don't want to have to pick a phone I never wanted. I would rather jus thave my Note 5s back at 275 :crying:

with only 275 I would have paid off that balance lol
That suck though....mine had close to 500 on it...if I ever decide to get the note 5 will need to be 500 or less....
This kind of situation makes the whole issue a heartache...its like with the down payment with tax i could off paid off my previous phone with couple dollar extra...

T mobile rep told me 15 min ago that they're not sure about issuing replacements. So as of now they want you to turn them in at full refund plus 25.00 store credit. Until Samsung issues a statement about re releasing them again, I don't expect any promises from the carriers

Anyone know if we can just return the phone? I still wanna keep the accessories

Well, I guess it's back to the note 5. Good thing I paid off in full just because I'm such a tech freak. ?

Verizon Really Likes My $$$

So i finally went about returning my Xoom today at my local Verizon store where i purchased it. It was an interesting experience because low and behold. Verizon wasnt very anxious to give me back my money. I first had to wait in line for 30 mins just to speak to a CSR. Then when i finally got to the front of the line and requested to return my Xoom
excuse #1 " I dont think i have enough money in my register to refund your money at this time"
my response: "why cant you just get the money from someone elses register, are you saying that unless this money comes specifically from your register theres no other source of money in the whole store to fulfill my refund?
her answer "Yes" "but if i liked i could take my Xoom back and come back at a later time when they had more money".
Then i notified her that i payed part cash/part credit and asked if she had enough money to fullfuill the cash portion and the rest on my card. simple enough. She suddenly became baffled and required managers assistance.
Then they asked if i had a verizon wireless account and they could credit my account to the tune of $573(my refund amount) essentially getting their xoom back and keeping my money at the same time. um THANKS BUT NO THANKS.
So finally they were able to scrounge up some cash and process my original request to refund my cash payment and put the rest back on my card.
The part i dont understand is that the girl who was helping me by the end of this was giving me major attitude and begrudginly gave me back my money like she took it out of her own purse. I even said thanks and have a nice day and she totally ignored me.
All in all no love lost i took my refund and went and put it towards the purchase of a brand new LED tv for my bedroom.
Lol get more money I guess is the solution

He's sharing the experience of returning his xoom just incase other users are planning to do the same.
This just in: every carrier ever in the history of the world doesn't wanna give you a refund.
Cool thread. Is this news? lol.
Thats odd because I did the old 30 day no questions asked on the droid 2 and they had no problem and anytime I want to return something they are always hopping to it at my store. I guess it might be a different setting, its a smaller town and I am always in there buying stuff, so maybe they know I will be back and just something else and get my money then. I was considering returning my xoom but just the trouble of returning it is too much for me. The longer I keep it the more I like it. I am just so used to the 10in screen, just looking forward to some cool roms for it and I will be fine with it. It was a little early as nothing in android was ready for the 3.0 + tegra 2 combination, but as devs make apps for it and 3.0 matures under googles hand it will become a strong platform (my opinion).

Yes there was a restocking Fee. Its $70 for tablets. So my purchase price(subsidised) was close to $650. BTW in case noone was aware apparently the ETF for the xoom isnt the same as with Smartphones. On my reciept it stated that the ETF was only $175 not the $350 they usually charge. you know, if anybody wanted to save 200 bucks and definitely intended to keep their Tab for a while.

Do anyone know how long this offer is for? My wife got an optimus last week and its been having problems. So I'm thinking about getting her one of these Epics.
I'm just hoping sprint don't charge me a restocking fee. After all the optimus isn't working correctly. People on the other end of the phone can't hear her.

I worked for radioshack for 3 years. I deeply loathe that place. Please people don't buy your phones at radioshack. Its all they care about and those prices are so low because district managers pressure associates into not selling phones unless you get accessories with it. Don't believe me? Go ahead and try it. I guarantee you the salesman will turn you away not sell you the handset if you don't get something alongside with it.
Bottom line. Get your phones online. I bought both of my epics back in november for 100? If im not mistaken off of letstalk.com. amazon normally has awesome deals too. Save yourself the hassle of being hassled and don't put money into these corporate pigs pockets.

This looks like a good deal! but what are the chances of a new EPIC2 or a better QWERTY smartphone coming out very soon?!
Yes. The guy at my local radio shack was pushing me towards an Evo. Boo! he said there was no other phone in its class. I said what about the epic? And he just kinda scoffed and said it was a decent phone.

It bad. You get harassed and your job threatened everyday. Your NEVER good enough in that place. For those interested or want to work there this is what you will experience.
Radioshack gets angry if you don't sell they're quota of phones a day. If you sell your phone by itself they get angry. I you sell a phone with accessories (and they have a minimum like 20-40 bucks), cool. Now did you get the warranty? No? Your not good enough. Here's a write up. I remember when the i4 came out and they said it was mandatory to sell the 70$ applecare with it. Lol. Oh and don't forget about the plethora of other **** you gotta do there besides earn commission selling cell phones. Which is essentially the only real way to make money there.

jeez, I've never had an issue buying a phone at radio shack. I've never bought accessories there and they just seemed happy I was getting a phone.
Lovely.. i'm within 30 days.. now I get to see if i can get best buy to price match/guarantee, or return it (stupid restocking fee) and get it for $100 cheaper.. if it was $20-40 difference I wouldn't bother, but $100.. that's worth some time to get my money back.

It is OEM and the rep at the store said she did not hear of anyone getting asked for their old battery back. It kind of gets paid for since it is an extra $3 a month over TEP.

Read my last post! Be informed instead of ignorant. It is the reason it already costs more than TEP. And there is no replacement for lost or stolen phones like TEP has.
Do you have to buy the phone at Best Buy or can you just show up with insurance request? What about Radio Shack, since I bought my Epic there? I have no insurance. lol When I opened my first line with Samsung Exclaim, I opted no insurance. When I wanted to upgrade, I had to open a 2nd line in order to get the Epic for $99 then I swapped the Epic to the first line (and put the 2nd line on Seasonal Standby). No option for insurance from Sprint. :-/

True, Best Buy does not cover lost or stolen, but they do cover ANYTHING as long as you physically have the phone. You can walk in with a water-logged device that is still dripping and they will give you a refund. Or if the phone gets dropped and the screen is cracked they will give you a refund of the original purchase price loaded on a gift card. Try going to the sprint store and getting a phone replaced with a cracked screen that you clearly dropped!

I have gotten 2 free batteries this year by going into the sprint store and saying my battery performance is down. They just handed me a new battery. Purchased my Epic online Radio Shack for a 58 dollar special. Who needs insurance. As a premier customer I can upgrade every year. If my phone breaks I will go back to my touch pro 2 modified with android. It does everything the epic does but slower. I can wait till the end of the year find another special. With those prices why pay the extra monies.

Thank you for that wonderful information. A lot has changed at Black Tie. They now Rapid Exchange pretty much no questions asked. If you tell them there is problems with the phone they order you a new one. This also increases the buy back value at Best Buy. If you have them buy it back after 2 years it is $130 value. So if you get a free new replacement after a year the buy back is like $ 150 or more.

what I am saying is the BT protection ISN'T offering you free batteries for no reason. It is a no-deductible insurance claim. The T&C even states they will replace it only if the battery is damaged. Just because your BB reps aren't checking doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
Oh I misread. No, I wouldn't put in a claim for 2 "free" tires just because I could. Nothing in life is free...

Free Galaxy Note 3......I'll take that!

Went to At&t retail store on the way home to pick up my Note 3....went thought the check out process with the Att rep and came to pay and she said "Well I guess its free". She had the manager come over and check and he said the same thing. Oh well good for me I guess...LOL :good:. And I high fived the rep as I left.
Yes I used my 2 year upgrade to get it. Also it was also a business account and it was not charged to the account (I checked)

Ya I didn't want to add that to my companies monthly bill!
Are you sure it was free? There is a program called next where the sales tax is charged at point of sale and then an installment plan is added for 20 months...
There is also a bug right now at Corp stores where sometimes sales tax is not charged on a transaction...
I'm a great salesman and part of being one is knowing every deal and offer... that's the only way I know where the note would be free.
Don't get me wrong I love the next program but this sounds like possible bait and switch...
If this happened to you, you will notice a 35 dollar increase in you bill and a lack of the standard upgrade fee.
Trust me, I am a retail sales person at a Corp store. It sounds like they signed you up for next which is an installment plan that raises bill. It gives a one year upgrade option but it should only be sold to someone that wants it.

I called AT&T, instead of the insurance company. First time (headphone jack), the rep said it was still under AT&T's warranty. Second time (water damage), the rep said it would be a pain to go through the insurance company & they could replace it , but would have to charge the deductible. I asked could he waive it. He checked with the manager & he ok'd it, even sent the replacement overnight.

That makes more sense. I've never had an issue getting a phone replaced within a year from AT&T, some had physical damage to the housing. Water damage would be pretty iffy, but as long as you have documentation, I don't see how they can charge you. I've never paid for insurance, so I don't have experience with that process.
This thread has run its course. Clerical and pricing errors don't happen every day, congrats OP on a legit free device.

JUMP Upgrade vs Regular Upgrade

So I preordered mine over the phone thinking I was using my JUMP upgrade and inquired about my return label to send back my s5 and they told me they didn't do JUMP upgrades on the phone, it was treated as a regular upgrade. She told me I didn't have to send my phone back and could keep both so long as I continue to pay for both EIP.
I only have $300 left on it so I plan to pay it off and then sell it for $400-450. Talk about lucky (after a not so lucky preorder with the note 4). Anybody else have this happen to them? I'm wondering why JUMP is even worth it then if I can just finance the phone, upgrade whenever, and then sell the old one to pay off the EIP.

From what I can tell, JUMP is pretty much only a good option for people who don't want to go through the hassle of selling their phones.
i had the same thing happen to me. when i first joined tmobile i got the nexus 5 coming from a sprint note 2. the screen was just too small for me and i wanted to trade it in, but wasn't eligible to jump for another 2 months. the lady at the t-mobile store got me a note 3 and just added the EIP to my account. i then sold the N5 and paid it off. the best part was i was able to jump at my original 6 month anniversary and not 6 months from the note 3 purchase.
Just got my note 4 and need to send back my m8. Wanted to know if tmobile only needed the phone or do they also need the accessories that came with it? I want to keep the extra charger. Thanks.

Or is that just square trade hooking up with Costco to do a deal thing... but anyways the reason I am going to get JUMP is because of the accidental protection but it does come with things like theft tracking and the upgrade thing which I don't know if I am going to use those *shrug*
but if there is more accidental coverage companies out there I would like to know, I know of the Samsung deal where you pay like $100 for like a year or something but the sdevice turn in is like $75 instead of like $50 for jump I think I look it up again

You can buy a square trade warranty online as long as it's been less than 30 days since you bought the phone. It's $99 for 2 years coverage but the deductible is $75. It won't pay your EIP off but you can get it fixed locally and they'll reimburse you or do overnight shipping for repairs/replacements. It covers all kinds of accident and damages but does not cover theft which is why it's cheaper. You gotta send a device back to get a fix or replacement.
The jump deductible is $175. I would only see it being beneficial for a stolen phone replacement/upgrade. Other than that I think ST is a better deal.

thanks. I forgot to mention I did my jump online. so they sent me the prepaid envelope and was trying to figure out if I should just put just the phone or the phone in the box into the envelope and send it out. I did my 1st jump in store so I did what u did but I gave them the original box and all the other accessories.

1. What's EIP again? Haha sorry...
2. So Square Trade seems so much better... thanks for replying and info I will look into that!
3. Also this might be off topic sorry if so just pm the answer I guess... but how does stolen devices like phones work say you don't have the theft protection you just what file a report with local authorites and “they'll watch out for it” granted you probably have like the IMEI, serial numbers etc... and if they do find it you get it back yeah? Haha

EIP equipment installation plan (if you finance your phone).
I had my s4 stolen in April (good excuse to upgrade to s5!) and passed along my IMEI to the police. They report it to a database that pawn shops use to prevent sales. You can report it to Tmo to block it from being used on Tmo but unfortunately, they can flash it to other carriers and sell it through other means such as Craigslist or Ebay. Never got my stuff back

How was the JUMP process online?
I am thinking about doing it. Was it easy?

simple and easy just follow the steps and sign the new eip agreement, checkout and pay whatever fees then have to wait for it to be shipped. Didn't have to deal with a retail sales person.

Finance the phone?... you mean the monthly charges if you didn't pay for the phone fully? If so yeah I expected to pay that even if I didn't have the phone (physically) lol...
Anyways yeah that sucks but I just read an article about top things note 4 users should do when they get their phone and the first thing was to set the android device manager or something but it can be used for locate your device and also you can do other things like reset pin, full wipe, etc.. but my favorite make your phone ring for up to 5 minutes loudly so you can annoy the thief(s) xD but really the location of the device should come in handy if you do it right away don't wait like a day or something you know, ASAP when you lose your phone

They offer non-jump insurance for $2 less than jump. I had to remind them of that when they twice tried to Jump me without my consent.
I was able to jump my LG G3 to note 4 even though I only have my LG G3 for 2 months(paying monthly btw). I thought I have to wait every 6 months or pay half the price. Good thing I asked about my availability date to JUMP!!. Can't wait for my Note 4. back-ordered
No with JUMP, you can upgrade whenever you want. T-mobile will only pay for half of the phone that you're turning in. If you didn't pay for half of the phone then you'll have two EIPs on your account.
