AT&T Branded Note 4 (Unlocked) on T-Mobile -- firmware flash? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently activated my SM-N910A on my new T-Mobile account. The phone was out of contract, so I asked AT&T to unlock it, and they did. The phone is working properly with my T-Mobile SIM card, albeit on the AT&T firmware.
Is it possible to replace the AT&T firmware with a stock Samsung Firmware, or, at the very least, with the T-Mobile branded firmware (for SM-N910T)? I understand that the bootloader is locked on these AT&T devices. Is it possible to unlock the bootloader and load a different firmware onto the device?
AT&T firmware has SO much bloatware, and I've not had any luck finding a way to root the phone on this firmware, so I'm stuck with all that bloat. What are my options here? Thanks!
EDIT: The phone was updated OTA to Marshmallow (6.0.1) when it was on the AT&T network. Build number is MMB29M.N910AUCS2EPH7

[Q] which update should I use? AT&T S5 with a T-Mobile SIM card.

I have an unlocked AT&T_ S5 with a T-Mobile SIM card. I want to update to lollipop and my phone won't update automatically through my settings so I suppose I gotta d/l and update but which update do i d/l? AT&T or T-Mobile?
The at&t s5 (SM-G900A) variant has locked bootloaders, meaning you can't flash any other ROM's besides the stock att rom, unlike the rest of the T-Mobile or other s5 variant communities do. At&t hasn't released the lollipop update yet, and they released an OTA update, still KitKat, recently. So head on over to the att section of the forum and you will see there is a safe strap method available, but I haven't personally tried it.

ATT Note 4 unlocked on Tmobile

I just inherited an ATT Note 4 N910A from a family member. It has Android 5.0.1 on it. I was able to unlock it (thanks ATT!). I would like to use it on T-Mobile. I have the TMo SIM installed. The phone hasn't been activated yet. From what I've read so far, the ATT bootloader is locked, so I can't install any CM ROMs - is that correct?
Some questions for those with much more experience than me
- I assume that the phone will update to 5.1.x. Will it install the ATT software also, even though it has a Tmo SIM? If so, is it possible to delete bloat (ATT specific stuff, etc)? What specifically is the bloatware (which apps)?
Thanks much for any help/guidance.
ATT 910A- No root, no unlocked bootloader, no roms. You can run it on T-Mobile, but without an ATT sim, you won't get any OTA updates. You can Odin or Kies the 5.1.1 update.
You won't have root but you can still freeze Bloat. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2998294
V3.90 Debloater(Lets remove all that carrier bloat !! Root not required..)

Can I switch carrier firmware?

My phone is on G928VVRU2BPD4. It's a Verizon carrier unlocked phone I currently use it with AT&T I'm on marshmallow 6.0.1. Since I use it on AT&T I cannot get any Ota updates I have to use odin. My question is can I switch it to AT&T firmware? Also is the AT&T version root able if I am able to switch it?
Unfortunately no.If y had an....lets say g928f carrier locked then yes switching is easy but since you have an g928v (the v at the end stands for verizon) you cannot change to another firmware since its a verizon model and there are no other firmwares for it.

Switched carrier, wanting to switch to their firmware also.

I have a Verizon branded note 3 that I am now using on Tmobile. It works fine but it still has verizons firmware and I want to get rid of it... so either Tmobiles firmware or an unbranded one. Ideally an unbranded one.
Please direct me to the correct thread with directions. I am a noob and I don't know exactly what I am doing.
Regardless of whether the bootloader is or is not locked, you cannot flash stock Tmobile firmware on the Verizon phone.
If the bootloader is unlocked, you may be able to flash a custom rom based on the stock T-Mobile firmware.
There is no unbranded firmware for the Verizon note 3 as that model is exlusive to Verizon.

AT&T Galaxy S8 software update

I have a question. I have the Unlocked AT&T Samsung Galaxy S8 (didn't realise it was AT&T until I received it and turned it on) and when I go to update the software it says it is up to date but it is not. How do I update my software? I am not rooted or anything, the phone is in its normal state.
Is it an unlocked S8 with AT&T firmware or an unlocked AT&T S8? Also, what carrier are you using?
Either way, you can use Odin to flash the newest firmware. Search Updato.com for the firmware for G950U (AT&T variant if you want bloat) or for the G950U1 if you want actual unlocked firmware with no bloat. However, the newest that they have posted if CRF5 and CG3 just came out the other day.
I asked about carrier because:
If you're running on Tmobile for example, use the tmobile firmware. You'll have bloat but you'll get all the features and you'll be good to go on updates.
If you're using Tmobile and want Unlocked firmware download the TMO coded U1 firmware and again, you'll be good with updates.
@jpcdeux I would think it has AT&T firmware because it came with a few AT&T apps on it. However, it is not locked to at&t so I am able to use it in my country (St. Kitts).
Would I have to root?
No, rooting is not required to flash unlocked firmware
Thanks much @jpcdeux
