Updating rooting and unlocking? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Supposed to have my A7 Sunday and wondering if I accept an OTA if that kills my chances of unlocking the bootloader and getting TWRP? Sorry if this has already been answered just antsy to get it going before I have the device. Thanks in advanced!

Yes, all US model firmwares can be bootloader unlocked.
First follow this guide to flash TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/wip-axon-7-root-bootloader-unlokced-t3441204
Then follow this guide to unlock the bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165

Awesome thanks!

Unlocked Bootloader/Not rooted

This may be a dumb question, but on my nexus 10 I have an unlocked bootloader but not rooted. Will the unlocked bootloader keep me from receiving ota updates?
Asking because as all of us, I am waiting for 4.3 but if my unlocked bl is preventing it, I would like to relock to get it or flash the image from a download.
Let me know if the unlocked bl is preventing otas.
Thanks.

[Q] How to unlock bootloader of 183.46.15.XT907.Verizon.en.US

Hey guys.
I am able to root my motorola razr m by using hydrogen preoxide. Now is there is any possible way to unlock my bootloader as i want to install CM 12 and custom recovery.
Motocapsule way would be acceptable to unlock, if yes than guide me with it.
Thankyou.
There is no way right now.

Got root?

Will the bootloader be unlockable? Will we have a good expectation of having root?
I've searched (using tapatalk) and not found an A for this Q (Q&A hah)
It all depends on what people who get the device do with it. There is never expectations with any device.
I'm sure the root God @Chainfire will come to the rescue! That dude needs an award and more donations.

yes it is unlockable and yes that in turn means rootable
I think it could be rooted by the moto g3 method (Unlock bootloader, install recovery and flash SuperSu)

You flash the SuperSU again? Preferably 2.79
Not sure how you are bricked, what exactly did you do?

I fixed my bricked problem. In having trouble flashing twerp and rooting on marshmallow. Would I be able to flash the lollipop firm ware using fastboot commands the flash twerpan root?

I don't understand the issue. There is a very clear guide on how to root here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/guide-how-to-root-pure-style-t3503958. I was able to install TWRP and root with relative ease. The hardest part is just making sure you read for the details.
I successfully downgraded from marshmallow to lollipop and unlocked bootloader installed TWRP and rooted, then bypassed the factory reset protection so I could log in to Google on the set up screen.

Don't know why you downgraded, but glad to see you got it done.

It was easier for me to root by downgrading. If that makes any sense, which it probably doesn't lol. And thanks

Im glade I bought this phone. I was so aggravated the past few days because of the factory reset protection crap, but after I learned how to bypass it all is good now. Could anyone recommend a app or modual to use to change the navigation keys?
