Yea was just me and you. I wonder if some phones slipped through, as some phones aren't very "new". The manufacturing date of my phone is September 2nd, it is a replacement. It also could of just been a random defect that is possible on any phone and it is just bad timing for the Note 7.

Could be. Pictures certainly looked similar to the previous incident phones. Makes me wonder too if their stock of known good ones didn't come from the vendor they thought they did.

Anyone still want to put theirs in the VR gear headset? Lol. Might blow up in your face
Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk

I actually have been using the gear vr and my kids too. Plus they seem to heat up before bursting, like a lithium battery should. Now if it just instaneously combusted then yea, it would be worrying.

Blow up is a misnomer. It's more of a meltdown.

It is... and they all have the same final appearance. Looks like a fast cook off of the stabilizer in the battery. If this latest is confirmed to be true.... it could lead to samsung pulling ALL units and scrapping the note 7. The CPSC is going to breathing down their necks something awful. Has anyone here noticed another samsung product blowing up this week? Lawsuits and the CPSC involved in exploding samsung clothing washers. No JOKE.
Honestly, I am debating on returning mine for a refund at this point as it's simply not worth the risk for a phone that is over-priced given the circumstances. You won't be able to re-sell this phone for anything of value now. The FAA and other public entities will treat the note 7 and owners as pariahs.
Oh, and OS updates.. They will never get anywhere with updating this phone as keeping these other issues at bay will prevent any changes to phones that may produce unintended consequences.
Guess the time is now for us to all think about where we stand as the paying consumer on this.

Man I hope they don't recall the Note 7 after this latest incident and force me to another product. I love this thing. Best phone out there. Have never had a problem with mine and would hate to downgrade to something else.

I might going to return mine.. i have 2 kids and my eldest like to draw on this thing. Im really worried after the southwest incident.

I'm keeping mine. No issues here. I'm obviously going to pay closer attention but I'm not worried. If anything happens I'll try the Pixel

Resale could go either way - could be hard to sell or could become collector's item, especially if Samsung doesn't come up with a replacement in the Note line.

[Q] When will the N4 go back on sale at the play store?

Here's Nate Swanner speculating that it might be as early as Friday, while the google plus nexus page says weeks. Any thoughts, precedents?
I assume Weeks for the majority of countries.
Friday would be nice. I see it more possible for the US/CA to get stock by Friday, but then again this is all speculation anyway.

That comment is just silly...the rattle is normal, all other "issues" that have been written about can be fixed with a simple update...which will happen.

I called Google 15min ago and got a about a week, give or take.
I read some rumors that LG reduced it's allocation to Google therefore making them pull out of done markets. Not to mention the rapid sell out.
This is further backed with Tmo selling the N4 for 500 of contract. Given this, it may be likely that LG isn't prioritizing Google since they are likely being payed less, but who knows.
All this in mind, stock may be in and out for a while even though demand may never really reach super high levels the S3 and iPhone see.

Of course a one x owner will find it normal, keeping in mind how much the device you have sucked when it was released so now there cant exist a device whose issues can impress u htc owners cuz htc screwed u real bad

prices slashed already

2 months in, and tmobile is already taking $120 off the retail price. sales must be horrendous
I bought my G4 about 1 month ago and mention this discount to a representative who credited my EIP $60 as as courtesy.
Through my trials and tribulations with the G4 I was able to submit three different rebates for both the extra battery and the 128 SD card and sold them all on eBay for an additional $270 minus fees... So all in all I'm in the G4 for dirt cheap but I'm still not satisfied with this piece of crap phone.

BAD ASS NOTE 4 & LG G4
every day I use the phone I find more bugs. I can no longer type fast because it misses so many taps. My phone is froze every morning from the wireless charger, so is my girlfriends. half the time double tapping the volume down won't open the camera. if I get a text my screen will turn on and stay on. it will never turn off until I read the text message. If I have an app up that keeps the screen on and I hit the power button, when I turn the screen back on to check the time it will stay on and never go off, even though still at lock screen. I could go on forever. I bet root would fix 98% of this. I think the worst problem, missed taps, is a hardware issue and cannot be fixed with software or root. I'm afraid the phone is complete ****.
I think everyone that has issues should try one factory reset. I feel like that solved all of my problems. Root would be very nice but not a deal breaker like it used to be for me. Now that I have kids the number one priority for me is the camera, and this is about the best there is.

Root isn't gonna fix any of it. It's not some magic thing that does anything really but make your system partition writable. If you're having all of those issues (and the same to the other people having issues) you've probably just got a bad phone from a bad batch of them. I had to RMA my first one, no further issues. Rather than continuously dump on the phone (which, by the way, I don't particularly care for either, and won't have another LG phone in the future, but my issues aren't with bad hardware/software, mostly company dynamics), try and get it fixed/replaced. Your issues will probably be largely fixed.
The factory reset is also a good idea, and will tend to fix most issues...but in the event it doesn't, simply get it replaced. But honestly the hollering about how bad the phone is...? Overall it's a decent piece of hardware. Not the best, but not the worst by any means. Take matters into your own hands and get the thing fixed/replaced.
I have has two G4 devices, and both have been flawless. I have no tap issues and I'm a fast typer. Then there are the people that have been talking about other bugs. I'm just so happy with my G4. Of course every aspect could be bettered, but that's true with every device. I love the G4 and here in Europe the prices drop on every device sooner or later. Especially in down times where people aren't buying phones. Everyone here is getting ready to go on vacation ...

root will fix most of it what are you talking about. xposed framework will fix almost everything. And I don't continuously dump on the phone, this is a thread about the phone not being that great. If you love it and have no issues go find a new thread. I don't particularly care for your opinion either. I have already had it replaced once. I have every intention on changing it out again, but I'll wait a month or so for them to fix the bugs vs getting another **** phone. I might add that when I spoke to LG they said the Verizon ones are having the most trouble.....and that the only difference was software....so once again I believe root will help.

Issue: accidental selection while scrolling...

Like the title says, is anybody having an issue where something on screen gets selected/checked /pushed randomly and Unintentionally while you're scrolling up or down? It's very random but i can reproduce it within maybe 20 Scrolls. I've never seen it on any phone I've ever used but this one.
I don't know if I should maybe take back the device and get another to see if it's defective.
Its really annoying.
I hope to hear from someone if it happens to them or, if it's never happened. Thanks.
EDIT:Issue has been fixed with the latest update for tmobile variants. PC8 version is fixed and issue is squashed.

Yes sir I have noticed this, but it doesn't bother me to the point where I would return the phone. I chalk it up to the curved screen
Ok but i hope you don't think I'm talking about the edges. What happens for me is that something will get selected from the middle of the screen where my index finger is swiping. Not talking about accidental presses on the edges.
Not sure if that's what you were referring to. Thanks for letting me know.

I suspect the vast majority of people didn't buy the phone. I suspect they are leasing it. If you bought the phone from Samsung the bootloader is unlocked. Carriers request this stuff. People brick their phones then lie and say something happened to it and want a new phone.

I've actually adjusted the way I swipe and such and it has taken very nicely.. I haven't had this phantom touch for a couple days now but I understand how it is annoying. The phone is so good in so many other aspects that I just adjusted...
I came from a note 3. I needed an upgrade so I got the lgg4. Then v10 came out and I used a jump to get that.. They signed me up for the new jump which gave me 3total.
I didn't like either lg phone and their weird software so I took my v10 in to jump to note5. After time with that beast I thought I had a keeper. But then I used this phone and realized I have more use here than with my note 5. So I jumped again.. I now have one more jump left so I will use my s7 for now because there isn't anything else out there I want.. I'm content with flashing roms on my note 3 because that device is totally beast still.. But with the s7, I absolutely love the thin bezels we have. Love it... Looks amazing with klwp on your homescreen. And the sd card I absolutely needed.. Many videos and pictures with this camera..

[Returning the Note 7 due to locked bootloader]

All 3 of my Note 7's are going back!
I'm curious to see how big we can get this thread and I hope it makes a statement.
Dumb T-mobile...becoming ATT and Verizon. Actually with the S7 and Note 7 stunt with locking the bootloader, they have...
Such a shame. We bought the phone so it should be ours 100% to do what we want with it. Wth is this? A lease program you're pulling?
Sorry, but I along with many others will not fall victim to your rubbish tactics. I will not be a slave to your proprietary bs.
Who's with me?
Not everyone uses Samsung Pay. No excuses can justify being okay with the fact of not having full control over a device we pay for. It's straight up communist.
I'm solving the issue by not buying one. Period. As much as I love the phone, I will wait to see the new Nexux.

Yes I am seriously surprised at the number of people that thought it wouldn't be locked. It is like the whole S7 release all over again but this time anyone familiar with Samsung and especially members of XDA should have not been surprised at all.
Although i dont care about such things, i do think Samsung should unlock the bootloader. Once the phone is fully payed off you should have that option. I dont think anyone on a plan like Jump should have the option because those phones get refurbished and if anyone else has ever bought a rooted phone off Craigslist knows the pain when the seller messed up there phone and now is trying to pawn it off on someone else. Or maybe they put all phones that have the bootloader unlocked on a special list made to the public so people like me can avoid thise phones

I'm returning mine just because the difference between the note 7 and s7 edge is negligible. Not for $850

The word, "surprised" would only be valid to some, but to most of the enthusiasts, it's not really that we're surprised, it's just that with the international variant (SD820's being offered in markets where there is no Samsung Pay) and with the out cry of the S7, it's not unreasonable to have had a little hope for the Note 7. Long shot? Uh yea, of course...but like I've said, this isn't the first time at the rodeo where we've been faced with the impossible; that became possible in due time.
Come on guys... Seriously? I love rooting and tinkering just as much as anyone... But you are returning all 3 because the bootloader is locked? I'm amazed you bought them in the first place if this is a deal breaker.

No not really, that is a potential lose but in actuality they will just go into the refurbished pool. 1000 phones is still nothing out of the 25+ million phones they will sell. That is based just on the Q2 sales numbers of the S7 \ S7E. The 1000 phones is only 0.004 % of 25 million phones.
Also returns are just part of everyday business and expected. Unless the return rate was a high percentage, it is just normal business to them.
Unfortunately our numbers and desires mean nothing to them compared to their own...

lol I know man, this is how I felt when I got the S7E. I said I was done with Samsung and would never buy a locked down phone. Well here I am with my Note7 knowing it was locked. I would prefer to have the option to root and flash custom roms if I wanted to but I decided to just stay stock which is why I was fine buying the phone.
There just isn't another phone out or soon to be out from what I have seen to match this. I am still keeping the Note5 for the wife so if I really get the itch to flash something, I can always do it on that one.

Come on guys... Seriously? I love rooting and tinkering just as much as anyone... But you are returning all 3 because the bootloader is locked? I'm amazed you bought them in the first place if this is a deal breaker.

I would have waited to see if it was locked before I bought it.

Why can't we just flash the unlocked w8 bootloader? N5 was always interchangeable, and w8 is also sd820, so why not? Someone should try...they may have left us an out...

I am sure there is more to it than that but it is a different scenario than what we had with the S7. I would think that this is the most likelihood of the T-Mobile version getting unlocked. BUT with the reports of the F model getting the update that locked down it's bootloader, I think there is a good chance that they will all be locked down before long.

If this will work now that's all we need...flash the bootloader from w8 and don't take any ota updates...they can't force us to update...

True, once rooted the update can't be forced. The value of the rooted phones could really go up since the supply will start to dwindle.

So what's next (possible 2nd recall)

I know there is a thread about the issues with the replacements. This thread about thoughts on where to go from there. What people think about what phone to replace the Note 7 etc.
I just dont know what other phone is good enough to jump to. Or if its even worth staying with the Note even if Samsung goes for v3... Resale value etc.
For the 1st time in my life im even considering the Iphone lol

I am thinking the V20. I don't want the s7e. The v20 looked much tougher than the N7 but with same screen real estate. Not as good as the N7 but may be my only choice since it appears the N7 may be abonded by all carriers. No way will it make economical sense to give updates and alike for the small few who stubbornly try to keep it.
We have a dead device, weird year for Samsung and us for sure, it's almost as strange as our election this year.
For some reason i feel i am more at risk with the replacement. I used my 1st n7 almost to the end but i dont know. I guess i have had enough
Now im not sure if i will even get a new phone, i may just stay with my Note 5

I kept my note 5 as well, but the only thing I could replace the note 7 with is the note 8. I feel this is really bad for the note faithful, those of us who are s pen junkies and have had several notes before 7. There isn't a replacement except for another note. Finally a waterproof, SD card capable note, hell the only things missing is the removable battery. I plan to roll the dice and keep this one as lo g as I can, I won't be early for the recall if it comes back up. They got me the first time, this time I am more skeptical about it.

I stopped using my n7 until more info comes out. I dont think i will keep it because there is no point paying $800+ for a phone that probably won't get support. If Samsung goes for round 3 they need to offer a heavy discount to those of us who have dealt with this mess from day one...
We shall see.... I already miss using my N7

How is your note 5 as far as lag and speed? I am thinking about getting one. Either note 5 or one plus 3.
