Help me understand CSC codes, Flashing different firmwares and Odin - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

OK - I started with a unbranded UK A300FU - CSC code BTU on 5.x
I flashed a (supposedly) UK VOdafone 6.0.1 rom using Odin and the ROM n the AP sjlot
It appears this failed - my Modem wasn't updated an WiFi failed - the advice elsewhere is to go into download from a cold phone.
Also, it would appear the firmware wasn't UK, but some germanic version
I restored from a TWRP backup
My phone details now says the "orginal CSC Code" is VD2
If I want get back to showing Original code as BT should I re-flash in Odin the firmware that matched the twrp backup ? If so , should I stil use the AP slot, or should I use the CSC slot?
Many thanks

Use CSC slot.
Also, the reason why your TWRP backup restoration didn't touch the CSC is that it has it's own partition, which one normally does not backup.
You could flash an entirely unbranded marshmallow rom of your choice, and flash the BTU CSC of lollipop, it should still theoretically work.

any single CSC region firmware please

Hi I have multi csc :KSA. I have flashed atleast 10 region firmwares via ODIN to change it back XSG. THe firmware region changes but in recovery it is still KSA. THe regions in have tried XSG,INU,INS,THY,ILO but in recovery I get KSA.
I need to send for warranty and that's why I need to make it XSG.
I was looking for a single csc firmare so if it locks it to that csc. I can reflash some other region to get back XGS

[Q] How to change CSC without root my device

Hi guys!
After I flesh new firmware (stock ROM, no root) with ODIN 3.09, my CSC code is independently changed to a different region. I tried to flash several times and the same thing is repeated to the same firmware selects a different region, another CSC from successfully applied multi-CSC. How can I change and go back to my region CSC, without root my device (I have a stock ROM that is not the root). Thank you!
Try the dialer code below to change your CSC. Note that this will do a factory data reset as well.
Or use Odin to install a stock firmware from your carrier.
*#272*<IMEI>#
.
Wrong CSC
Try the dialer code below to change your CSC. Note that this will do a factory data reset as well.
Or use Odin to install a stock firmware from your carrier.
*#272*<IMEI>#
Thanks for your help, but that code (*#272*<IMEI>#) does not work and I tried several times with ODIN to install the stock ROM in its region and always the same, successfully installed ROM, successfully installed a multi CSC, but other regions, not the one that was before.

Click to collapse
If you factory reset right after the flash the CSC might stick, if not reflash the rom again without a wipe with Odin and it should be good.
Thanks I'll try

But everything is working fine, wifi, blueetoth, mobile data. i dont have any problem. How do i fiox this? can i just flash a csc? my phone CSC
in firmware is I9505OLBGNH2, but cant find flashable CSC tar or zip. I did try changing my CSC code, *#272*IMEI# but it doesnt work.
SO i Lost when i flash a Stock firmware UK BTU I9505XXUHOB7_I9505BTUHOB4_BTU from kitkat I9505XXUGNH8_I9505OLBGNH2_XTC
and then downgraded again to I9505XXUGNH8_I9505OLBGNH2_XTC. so when i downgraded my firmware ofcourse i wipe data and cache 1st
then reboot to download mode and flash stock kitkat autoreboot is untick then flash I9505XXUGNH8 bootloader and modem.
everything works fine except i dont have a csc and my country is SIN(singapore) is should be XTC(Open line) Philippines.

Problem SOlved: i fix it by flashing the same firmware, what i did was, wipe date factory reset, wipe cahce then shutdown and enter download mode.
flash same firmware then i use *#272*IMEI# (this will wipe your data) and choose my country code. the device rebooted itself to recovery.
then device installed my country CSC (which is XTC for me). check my csc using *#1234#.

Tripped Knox using stock firmware - what did i do wrong?

Hi, I purchased an S7 Edge duo G935FD that was from Nigeria (CSC code ECT). It was running on Android 6 when I booted so I upgraded to 7 through OTA and checked Knox which showed as 0x0. I live in the UK and am with EE network, so i decided to flash the EE stock firmware to enable OTA and VoLTE (see download link below). The EE CSC code (EVR) did not show in my available CSC on the original firmware.
I downloaded and flashed the second to most recent EE firmware, so i could test OTA. The EE firmware is for the single sim version of the phone but I have read on this forum that the single sim firmware can be flashed to the duo. I flashed BL, AP, CP, CSC using Odin. I didn’t select re-partition.
The phone booted fine but the knox count had tripped to 0x1. I received notification of an OTA update but the OTA update failed (it downloaded and the phone rebooted, but the file did not take for some reason and i received an error message).
I then re-flashed the firmware but this time I selected re-partition in Odin. Everything worked and the OTA was successful.
How did I trip knox? I don’t want to make the same mistake in the future. Was it because i didn’t re-partition the phone on my first flash?
Many thanks
The firmware I downloaded: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...U1DQE7/168839/

Failed official firmware install (SM-T580)

My device got FRP locked and so I used Odin to flash the official firmware from Sammobile and now I have T mobile menus like personal hotspot in my settings apps even though my device is the Wi-Fi only tab A 2016.
Here's how I got here:
I flashed the correct firmware, and in Odin I flashed the ap file, that's all. It succeeded but when installing updates, it said no command and went to the stock recovery. I factory wiped and rebooted.
How do I get rid of the T mobile menu's?
Any help would be appreciated
