[Exynos] All apps drop connection and take about 5-10 seconds to reconnect - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I have no idea why this keeps doing this but this is a brand new (TODAY) phone, it has been rooted which may be the reason, havent tried a different WIFI network because i havent got access to it, but every single app from MLB at Bat, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, YouTube, etc. All of these will stop connecting to whatever i may be doing, whether its searching for a video, searching for a website, searching for anything or trying to watch something it will drop for about 5seconds before it then refreshes itself and loads the page or sends the message. (NOTE MY INTERNET IS NOT BAD), 150Mbps download, 10Mbps upload, very good internet speeds and other devices do not do this. It doesnt do it after everything single operation it just does it every 5minutes or so.
Hopefully someone can pinpoint this problem and help me, Thank you

Bump, please someone help!

not sure if anyone can help me, ive even tried restoring to factory settings and it just doesnt seem to work. Must be a hardware issue but since its already been rooted i bet im not available for a replacement? even though ive only had it one day

Samsung have a fuse for Root. If You rooted badly then fuse Fried something inside.

Nah it's miraculously fixed itself now, I'm guessing maybe it was the Internet connection but whatever happened it's fixed on its own. I rooted correctly lol

Problems with Uploading pictures to Facebook

Like the title says im having a problem when uploading photos onto facebook. this happens both on a wifi signal and a 3g signal.
The problem is is that the picture upload reaches 98% then gives an error message.
Does any else have this problem and had anyone got a succesful fix for this error.
Same problem, ive managed to upload a few successfully but 9 times out of 10 it fails as you describe either on wifi or 3G.
I've had problems uploading but on desktop PC today. The problem might be at Facebooks end. All uploads from my Leo have gone without problem.
Very odd, i wonder if Virgin are blocking it some how, it can't be settings because it has worked occasionally.
same problem here. works few time. most of the time it fails. it's not a phone connection problem because i can browse web with wifi or 3g.
anyone figure out the cause yet?
There is a 400+ post thread about failed image uploads to facebook on facebook stretching from yesterday to way back 18 months or so. (Nothing to do with mobiles, just facebook in general) It seems their image upload is flakey at best anyway, perhaps the added extra of using a mobile is just too much for their system?
The thread is here, tho i doubt it will help.
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2388926799&topic=5316#topic_top
Oh, and yesterday, for several hours, the entire facebook site was pretty crazy (via pc, not mobile), links failing, couldn't sign out, 'something went wrong' message popping up every few minutes.

[Q] Wifi Issues?

Lately, since my phone got a little wet (dried out the phone in rice and cleaned it out with Rubbing Alcohol), some apps on my phone have been running slow.
I thought maybe it was just the application at first, so I cleared the app's cache. Then I noticed it took a long time to display images from Google Now (such as movie suggestions, or weather icons). So I took the time to completely reset my phone from scratch and flash NAE ROM and Firmware (without the bootloader) this afternoon. After waiting for everything to download and get setup, I tried browsing a website. It took forever, what should have immediately loaded (within 5 or so seconds), took 10+ seconds to load. Tried logging into pushbullet. I remember that the login process was quick and painless. Again, this took a while to load. The initial configuration for the phone setup which is usually quick for me, took a while to just login to my google account.
I was wondering if maybe the cause of this slowness is something happened to the internal storage when it got wet. Are there any programs that can test the phones internal read and write speed, or possibly any networking throughput applications that you all could recommend? I am going to try and take it in for a warranty replacement if I can get into the Sprint store in the next day or so. I really don't want to, as I am going out of town for two weeks and don't want to be phone less during that time period.
EDIT: After running A1 benchmark, and getting average (what I think anyways) results, ~60 read, ~8 write for the internal storage (not micro SD Card). I am wondering if it is another issue, possibly that my wifi antennae or hardware is defective? As the slowness tends to be an issue when running on Wif.
EDIT2:
So after some testing, there definitely seems to be an issue somewhere a long the lines with WiFi. This happens on multiple wifi networks. Say for instance, I use pushbullet to send a link to my phone. ll, if I am on WiFi, I don't get the push notification unless I request for an update. If I turn off WiFi and hop onto 3G, I immediately get the push notification. Note, this is after a fresh re-install of the NAE ROM. So, I am mighty confused as to why this is happening. It seems like it is definitely a push notifications issue, because as soon as I hop off WiFi, I got e-mails, and several other notifications. I tried installing this and lowering the heartbeat, assuming that is the problem, but I don't think it is. Is there anything else I can do or check to verify what is causing the push issues?

Nexus 10 Wifi stays connected but stops working

Hey guys,
I've had this problem for a while, so I'll try to keep the post as short as possible with as much info as I can.
For the last 6 months or so, the internet on my Nexus 10 frequently cuts out. The wifi will remain connected, but any app accessing the internet will time out. I only use the tablet for Reddit/email/youtube, and it's rendered useless because threads will load forever on reddit, youtube barely works, etc. I've reformatted the tablet at least a dozen times trying different things to fix the internet, it's so bad that on the initial setup, where you enter your Google Email/Password, it'll time out authenticating 10-20 times before it goes through. I tried to download Hearthstone yesterday, but the download would stop at some stage and just sit there till I cancelled it and started over. The Wifi works perfectly well on all other devices on my network (including nexus 4 and nexus 5).
When I first got it, I installed Cyanogenmod, and had no problems (but I didn't like it). After a year or so I went back to stock android, and that is when the wifi problems started.
Device:
Nexus 10 - Lollipop 5.0.1 - No Root(currently)
What I've tried:
Multiple factory resets.
Reinstalling with ADB.
Using Clockworkmod to clear all the caches and reinstalling.
Using Nexus Root Toolkit to wipe and reinstall.
Changing multiple settings on my modem (belkin surf N), like only broadcast n network, changing channels, and many other things.
Installing a pingmeter app to constantly ping the router every second.
There was a thread on these forums about rooting and commenting out a line in the hosts file, something like com.android.play or something of that sort, but it wasn't in my hosts file, only 127.0.0.1 and nothing else.
Calling Google Tech support, there only suggestions were to try booting in safe mode, and to restart my router...
And probably a few other things, since I've tried so many times to find some way to resolve the issue.
I've Googled everything I can think of, joined random IRC's to try and get support, asked on Reddit, etc. Still no luck.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I been on lollipop for a while now but notice each day the wifi speeds get worse and worst. Dont know what's going but I notice alot of people complaining about wifi after installing lollipop.

Samsung Tab A (SM-T285) Wifi constantly disconnecting-reconnecting

Hello Guys, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask something like this, so apologies if I'm asking in the wrong place, but I've searched a lot the past days and haven't found a solution yet :/
Less than a week ago, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 (SM-T285) 7" LTE, and pretty much since day one, the tablet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on every wi-fi I tried so far (3-4 different networks). I lose my connection for a couple seconds, causing any app running to lag a bit, then the notification that I have been connected to (the same) wi-fi comes up, and it starts working again. I googled a bit and tried using WPS button, Keep Wifi on during sleep, always allow scanning, even turned flight mode on, but the problem remains. Also, googling usually returned solutions that were aimed towards the router, although I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the tablet, since it's not just on one router. I'm at a loss on how to fix this and the only thing I can compe up with atm is to try a factory reset, which is weird, since the problem was with the tablet literally from the beggining. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance

I haven't really encountered that problem on my device. If you still have problems with the device after factory reset I suggest you try to get a replacement and see if it fixes it. You can also test if the problem goes away if your device is the only one connected to the router or setup a static IP. You can also post a logcat during the interruption so that we can get a better a handle on what is happening.

I get the same issue on my T280, highly annoying.
It seems better since the latest update, it's done this since day 1.

Try to re-flash your firmware and then install root. There is an application that grasps the Wi-Fi, so it doesn't disconnect and reconnect everytime.

Also, if you don't want to root and just stay in stock firmware, then go to this link (it is from a Samsung Moderator and yes, it is official): http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...7407616!1470947554734&from_osc=&homeid=342384
Solution brief statement:
- disable Connectivity Monitor and Wireless Uplink
- set the AP is set on fixed channels
- run the lastest stable upgrade of both AP and Controller

Not sure what you're trying to advise here or why you're advising to flash stock firmware and root?
Also the link to the knowledge base solution doesn't work as its session key has expired.

What do you mean "Also the link to the knowledge base solution doesn't work as its session key has expire."? I have just checked the website and the session key has not expired and it still works for me.

Never mind got it working by using a different browser.
Thanks for posting it, but Samsung's 'solution' [emoji55] is to simply disconnect and reconnect the wifi which I have already tried.
It's related to the device not the network as I don't have any issue with any of my other devices on the same network.
Maybe if they'd release some source code that actually worked I might be able to do something about it instead of them refusing my request.

Ok, if I find a solution, I'll be sure to tell you.
+1 I'm also getting this issue like crazy on my T280
Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Mine too. I have the T280, Best Buy has the T350 for $20 more. Has dual band wifi. Might try exchange it, but I rooted it already. Can I go back to stock without them knowing?
I was dealing with this issue although it was never more than an annoyance because it never actually interrupted my wifi connection, it just showed the little toast message that said it reconnected
I somehow magically got the device to stop doing this and I don't know exactly what fixed it, but I think the step that did it was flashing the stock firmware to the device. After that, it never seemed to have the annoying bug again.
The other things that could have done it relate to installing root and using Link2SD to disable some bloatware and moving all user apps to the SD card, but my guess is the fix came from flashing the stock ROM
I have the same problem with SM-T280 (T280XXU0AQA4), tried many wireless network and I have always disconnections. There is a solution for this problem?

Also for me since day 1
I have the exact same issue with my A6 10.1.
Posted about it a while back, I tried a factory reset, i tried clearing the cache. I took it to the service centre who did a complete software rebuild. I reset my router to factory and gave the tablet a static ip address. In the end I got a replacement, the replacement has the exact same issue. A friend bought the tablet the same day I did and has the exact same issue, they also got a replacement, their replacement also has the issue. So that's 4 out of 4.
Samsung couldn't care less, I've called customer service who suggested taking it to the service centre or getting a replacement, both things I've done. I've emailed and received nothing but generic cut and paste replies telling me to factory reset and clear the cache partition. I'm over my 30 days and can't return it. So I have a lovely paper weight and I'm back to using my iPad 3 because it may be slow as anything but at least it stays connected to wifi.

It may not be Samsung's problem but the place where you bought your tablet from. You might have to reflash it to stock (the ODIN way or the Samsung Smart Switch way). Some stores refurbish items and just take the same item repackage after thinking that it is okay to use because they just hook up the tablet to the computer without it actually connecting to the wifi.
If you want to do the ODIN way, you should try going to www.updato.com and find your software and device number and install it. There will be a guide there.
If you want to do the Samsung Smart Switch way, just go download it for the PC and it should tell you how to do it. (YOU NEED YOUR DEVICE NUMBER AND SERIAL NUMBER!)
Or if it still doesn't connect online, it might be because the host file is messed up. It is located in ./system/etc./host
I'm not sure but you should be able to find it through ES File Explorer.

Thanks but I took it to the local service centre who reflashed the firmware and it made no difference. Support told me it's a known software issue but they don't know when or even if a fix will be released.
It connects to the wifi fine, it just drops connection constantly, it shows as connected and I'm sat less then three feet from my router but try streaming or opening play store and it says no connection retry. Then you have to wait until it decides to work again, sometimes that's seconds, sometimes a few minutes. Sometimes you have to manually disconnect and reconnect wifi or turn the device off then back on. Rince and repeat.
I'll download smart switch and give it a go but I don't see it helping to be honest.

Try rooting your device and then check your hosts file and fix it. Sometimes, after when I installed Freedom (In-App purchase hack) it updates the Host file to disable it to connecting to the Internet. It should only say 127.0.0.1 Host, not something like app referrer: 108.xxx.xxx

Thanks but I honest'y can't be bothered with it anymore. As I said myself and a friend got the same tablet, we've both had the same issues, we both got replacements, both the replacements have the exact same issue and I assume it's massively unlikely all 4 tablets have host file issues. I've wasted hours of my life on this (resetting my router to factory for some reason caused my wifi printer to flail which took 4 days to fix). I've not rooted it and haven't installed anything that should mess with the host file.
I may change my mind and give it a go one day when I'm bored. I assume rooting doesn't invalidate the warranty/trip the knox etc?
I ran smart switch last night, backed up, reinstalled the sofrware then restored from backup. Only the backup didn't restore all the app settings, so it removed all the progress on the games I had been playing.

Root does trip your warranty and it is a pain in the but when you are trying to install applications like Oasis's Island app because it knows if you had a "modified" OS. So, you have to be careful on what kind of application you still want to use.
If you can get another replacement or exchange, reset your device and then hand in to the store for a SM-T350 or some other device.
I know that SM-T350's are good for games and other content like watching videos.
Hope I helped and I wish you the best of luck.
The T280/T285 doesn't have knox, so nothing to trip.
Can confirm reflashing stock did not fix it on my t280. Starting to think the only fix is to get a different tablet...

Phone craps out on some WiFi networks?

So I have the AT&T version of the LG G6, and for the longest time, everything was fine...
The last couple months i started noticing that sometimes my phone would go so slow that i couldnt type a text message or hardly do anything, and its gotten worse. Today was the first time my phone rebooted because it got so bad.
I'm trying to figure out how to troubleshoot this, i feel like its probably a rogue app or something. It wasnt always doing this, and my wife has the exact same phone and its not happening to her. Google searches provide nothing, so i dont think its a common issue.
One thing i've been trying to find is something that somewhat mimics the Processes/Details tab of the Task Manager in Windows. I need something (preferably a widget) that shows the current CPU usage of all apps, something i can sort by so that i can have the highest usage on top. This will tell me if an app is messing up.
I know its wifi though because when it happens, if i can manage to get in and turn off wifi, the issue goes away. But this doesnt happen on all wifi networks, only a couple of them.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong or know which app would give me the CPU usage? I've downloaded a few and i can see the CPU usage 1 app at a time, but i need them all at once.
Thanks in advance!
