It would be helpful if your subject line include a question mark, so readers would know that you're asking for this firmware rather than offering or announcing it.

Isn't this link for PH1 rather than PHE? I checked here: http://samfirm.net/threads/update-safely-firmware-galaxy-note7-all-model-22-09-2016.119/ but they seem to have the PHE ODIN files for every other carrier but not for ATT.

Yes I believe you are correct. All the carriers also are on Revision 2 now as well because of this whole stupid battery BS. So if you update pretty much to any update the likelihood of downgrading is slim to none. I actually have the Sprint Variant exchanged new non explosive model that shipped with PH9 Rev 1. I was able to downgrade to PGC Rev 1 and Root it and then unlock it for any carrier then flashed it to ATT PH1 Rev 1. However I tried going back to Sprint just to see if I could go back to original firmware and it will not let me do it. Odin fails with Sha 256 error. Witb new bootloader and firmware having some Sha 256 check coding attached in it. Only way for me to go back is to flash newer firmware which is Revision 2 and I am trying to avoid going to the new Revision as the last Note 7 Sprint I did that with it broke my unlock carrier and made the device read invalid SIM only good for Sprint. Unfortunately there is no method for unlocking Sprint Note 7 on Revision 2 right now which sucks. So I have one Note 7 stuck to Sprint which I have Att service and 1 Note 7 that I flashed to Att I am currently using now. I'm waiting for a solution for the N930P Rev 2 Firmware to unlock it. Basically need a kernel root to do the unlock unless someone else knows how to do it.

Wow! I was saw a few SHA 256 errors which I got around using the modified ODIN. I have 2 Verizon Branded Note 7s hated and still hate the Verizonized settings (no Device Maintenance in settings menu in addition to burying the Samsung Cloud and making you download Samsung Pay). So before the I flashed the ATT PH1 ODIN and ported back to AT&T (after 13 days with VZW). Just before the Sept 21st exchange explosive device date I ported back to VZW thinking that the exchange would go more smoothly at the VZW store. I unrooted via factory reset, got the new phones and could have escaped the PHE update altogether since I allowed the update myself after going home. Now I want to go back to AT&T again (due to the heavy-handed actions of VZW and VZW's near hostility to Samsung and the Samsung user experience that I mentioned above). Speaking of Sprint, I just flashed the Sprint ODIN PHE files just to check out the Sprint Note 7 interface while I await the ATT Note 7 PHE Odin files. Looks as good as AT&T (if only their coverage was). So I actually paid off both Note 7s so I'm a free agent LOL. Wish I had hung onto my original Note 7s or at least had not taken the PHE update on the replacement phones.

I have scoured the internet LOL (or so it feels) and I can't find the files AT&T so, at this point, I can't get back to AT&T without them. I guess I could return the Verizon Note 7 s and pay the restocking fees for both $35 X 2, get a refund $1728 minus $70 and go to AT&T and buy new AT&T-branded Note 7s (as long as I do it before next Wednesday the 5th (day 14 with replacement Note 7).

Can you find the firmware downloaded to your pc from smart switch? Just a thought have not tried yet.

I gave it a go with no luck. The file it downloads is not a complete firmware. And it's stored in a weird format I could open or convert.

I was able to grab the firmware for mine by following this post. I have the Verizon version so I downloaded the Verizon firmware. Someone with the AT&T PHE build should be able to do the same and post it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68281789&postcount=2
After opening Smart Switch and connecting my phone using the file transfer USB setting on my phone, I clicked on "More" and then "emergency software recovery and initialization." I then selected the "device initialization" tab and followed the steps in smart switch. After it prompted me to restart the phone in recovery mode the file started to download. I made a quick copy of it in another folder as soon as the extension changed to a zip file (around 70 - 75%).

Strange issue with newly bought used Note 4

I recently bought a used Note 4.
Now when I started using it, I observed something strange on it.
First when i connected it to my laptop for some data transfer i saw a new drive letter popup with Verizon mentioned on it and it automatically installed Verizon's software on my laptop.
Secondly, when I reboot the phone in boot-loader mode to check if the phone is rooted or not, i get the Mobile Model to be SM-N910V whereas when i checked on the back of the phone (under the battery) it is mentioned as SM-N910F; even when i checked Mobile Status under Settings it also shows SM-N910F.
Now i installed Phone Info Samsung from Play Store and it is also saying the Phone Model is SM-N910F whereas in Device Type it is mentioned as trltevzw (i believe this is the model for Verizon based phones). - snapshot attached
Now I am quite confused if I have an international version of Note 4 or Verizon based version.
Also one more thing... Root Checker says my phone is rooted but when i install SUPERSU; i can't update the libraries since it needs TWRP or CWM recovery to update the library (which is not available as my recovery shows stock recovery).
Any help in this regards will be highly helpful.
Thanks!
I'd take your device back to the retailer and get a refund. As there is something fishy about it!

Dear thanks for your reply but sending it back to retailer is not possible.
So any technical help would be much appreciated. .
Thanks!
Ok just an update...
First i tried installing official ROM (5.0.1) for SM-N910F from SAMMOBILE using ODIN but that failed giving some error.
Next I tried installing Official ROM (5.0.1) for SM-N910V using ODIN and it passed successfully.
Now Phone Info and About Status details match - Phone Model is SM-N910V and Device Type is trltevzw
but while doing this I have lost root access (which was already sort of useless because recovery was stock one)
However now Phone model and Device type part matches up.
Now IMEI on the phone and Phone Info are not matching... Anyone has any info on how to work around that?

new binary

anyone out there have the custom boot images for qualcomm binary 5 yet?
sprint just released binary 5 OTA update, im assuming the previous revision 4 binary boot images won't work any longer
also does anyone have a download link to the new builds? can't seem to find them anywhere g935p and g930p if you have them.
Hmm. guess this is why I was having a problem with my phone. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74590415&postcount=402
Just had an issue flashing SM-G935V software to my SM-G935P because I didn't realize I'd picked up an OTA putting me on binary 5. My phone is currently in a fun, bricked state. If anyone has links to a binary 5, Odin-flashable firmware download, I'd very much appreciate it.
If there's another way to flash something in download mode, other than using Odin, where I could drop something earlier than binary 5 on there, I haven't found it yet. Thoughts? The error on the phone is SW REV CHECK Fused 5 > Binary 4.
I come from a long line of HTC phones, so I've been comfortable with custom ROMs and unlocking bootloaders. Unfortunately, using Odin, I expected if something didn't match, it wouldn't flash anything (like RUUs with HTC phones). Not so much the case, apparently. haha -- live and learn!

You going to have to wait until VZ includes it in an update. As of right now, only the Sprint version has the bootloader update...I'm sure it will hit the rest during the next update or so.

new build on sammobile QJ3 rom
No Binary 5 for VZW, TMB or U firmware at this moment. They released updates with Binary 4. I don't like the Sprint rom and now I've a cellphone using G930P QL1 fimware
Has anyone heard of G930U or G935U Rev 5 being out yet? Or is Sprint still the only one on the Binary 5 Version? Man they pulled a fast one with only allowing Sprint to goto Rev5. I am sure it put a damper on all us folks who like flashing the Crappy Sprint Phones into the Unlocked Versions or a GSM Carrier such as Att or Tmobile. Please let me know if another carrier has hit Binary 5 yet.

S7 Edge G935P issues Flashing Supposedly compatible G935U Rom

Hello Everyone I understand that this would have been better posted at the Roms and development Forum but it would not let me post because of some anti-spam thing. Anyways I was told that I could Cross flash the g935U rom on any variant of the S7 edge so I tried to install it the same way I installed the Stock Sprint G935P firmware. When I was flashing the flash stopped and locked up. The phone has a error on the screen saying SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 5 > Binary 2. Any help would be appreciated. Attached is a picture of the screen and the Odin Logs.

Ran into the same problem. It seems Sprint decided to switch to binary 5 on the QL1 firmware while the rest of the carriers didn't and stayed on 4. I have been looking all over for a way to root my SM-G935P on QL1 firmware and have found nothing. Looks like we're SOL for now thanks to Sprint.
So We Need To Wait For The Android Oreo Update or just wait for G930U To Update The Firmware

You rooted SM-G935P on G935PVPU5BQL1 firmware? If so ...... Yes please show me the way. Been trying to figure it out for quite sometime.
can you downgrade to the previous versions of marshmallow and them rom over to 935u?
you will have to find the previous boot loader file and flash all 4 together for it to work.
just a guess. ill do some research.

Was going to do the same thing after getting a good deal on a pre-owned s7edge from BoostMobile. I had no problem getting the sim unlocked for MintSim(MVNO-Tmobile), and it seemingly works fine after setting APN settings. I'd prefer to not have the g935p firmware. I'm assuming if I can somehow switch to g935u I'll be able to use it more comfortably for both verizon pre pay and MintSim? If there is a way to downgrade to the binary 4, I'd like to know as well. As far as I know I'm still able to use Samsung Pay, so I'd like to keep that option open.
Only thing we can hope for as of right now is that the oreo update is binary 5 on the U firmware. But I dont see that happening. Think thats a new exclusive for sprint to keep people tied down. Hopefully im wrong....
On a more positive note, the bootloader binary has been updated across carriers with every major os upgrade.

I think the same. Sellers were selling S7 and S7 Edge models with U firmware for international use, no sprint apps, logo or restrictions and maybe sprint was losing customers and they decided to update the binary to avoid this situation. Really I prefer the U firmware instead Sprint or Verizon stock rom

Hi guys,
I just gave me iphone xs max to my wife since her iphone 7 is already too buggy and slow. Now that I moved to s10+, I love it and but the customization option is overwhelming me. Happy though that its customizable.
Then I realize 1 critical thing. I bought a snapdragon USA version of AT&T from local importer. I am located in Asia. When I looked at the software version, its only at "G975USQU1ASD3" with security patch, March 2019. I tried for 2 days now to get the OTA update and it just wont come. Saying that I already got the latest update.
Naturally I checked google and found so many updates, and one of them, night mode in camera, I really want. Now I am a newbie in all of these. My question is.. how do I get the non OTA update? I don't have a PC, but I might be able to use my work PC. I do have an micro SD card.
In summary:
1. Where to find the update files? the non OTA version
2. Is it doable without PC?
3. Can I just jump to the latest firmware update, or do I have to do it manually one by one?
4. Will it wipe my phone, because I spent hours customizing it before checking the problem.
Thank you very much if there's anyone willing to help me figuring things out.
regards,

1.You can download firmwares on sammobile.com for your model
2.You can use work PC but need get small software named Odin and samsung drivers for correct work
3.You not need install one by one you can flash directly to latest one but must use HOME_CSC and make backup with samsung app named smart switch which is already on phone if not you can get it on Google Play Store

To try and force a change of the csc power down your phone, remove the SIM card and boot up your phone without any SIM inserted. After the phone has completely booted up insert your SIM and you should get a message that the network settings are being updated.
I purchased an unlocked AT&T S10+ as well to use on T-Mobile. Since you don't actually have AT&T service I would very strongly recommend that you flash the U1 (unlocked) firmware. There are instructions for doing this in another XDA thread.
AT&T firmware is modded specifically for their messaging, network and WiFi services. Since I'm not an AT&T customer I got no OTA updates until I flashed the U1 firmware. Immediately after flashing the U1 firmware and booting up OTA updates were available to download and I receive OTA updates when they are available so there's no further need to manually flash updates using a computer.
The current U1 firmware has night mode for the camera and was just updated this week to the August security patch (which is good for Samsung).

Hi thank you very much for your help. I appreaciate it. However, as you can see from my opening post, I kinda did a mistake and locked myself out of AT&T now.. I am stuck with Sprint after changing CSC 3x feeling safe.. then Spint removed my ability to change CSC via *#272*IMEI#
:crying::crying::crying:
You shouldn't need to change the CSC using the dial code. If you cold start your phone without a SIM card then insert the sim after your phone has fully booted up you should get a message about your network settings updating.
I would also still recommend flashing the U1 unlocked firmware.

You shouldn't need to change the CSC using the dial code. If you cold start your phone without a SIM card then insert the sim after your phone has fully booted up you should get a message about your network settings updating.

Hi thanks again for replying to me. I tried many times doing this but as soon as my SIM card got in, SPRINT OMADM took over.. I can't even get rid of the notification.. sigh..
This might help:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...-to-remove-sprint-omadm-notification-t3636264
That's apparently something annoying that's specific to Sprint.
To get rid of any US carrier stuff on your phone I would still suggest using the modified Odin (which can be found in the XDA firmware flashing threads for the S10+) and flash the U1 firmware version which is carrier free.

S10+ Appears To Be Incapable of Software Updates After Switching Carriers

Hi all,
I have an S10+ that refuses to acknowledge that its software is out of date.
I bought a US Cellular Galaxy S10+ from the Samsung website when the phones launched in March 2019. In late August 2019, I decided to switch to AT&T (had previously been on my parents' plan, wanted to start my own). I transferred the phone and my number over to AT&T.
Recently, I noticed that I have not received a software update or security update since before I switched. My Android version is still 9, my kernel is dated Aug 7, 2019, and my security patch level is Aug 1, 2019.
No matter what I do, my phone says its software is up to date.
I took the following actions:
Called AT&T to have them update the phone in their servers or whatever it is they do.
Changed the date in the phone, restarted and searched for updates.
Cleared the cache data in the phone's BIOS.
Tried using Smart Switch, it said it was up to date.
Did a factory reset of my phone.
Contacted Samsung, was told to talk to my carrier.
Called AT&T again, was told they could not push the updates because the IMEI number is for a US Cellular phone, not an AT&T phone.
Today, I took it to a Samsung representative at a local Best Buy. He plugged the phone in to whatever PC tool he has, it prompted him to download the latest AT&T firmware. He did so and tried flashing the phone. I looked and saw the blue BIOS screen where the phone said it was downloading the firmware. However, when it finished and he started the phone up again, the phone's software information was unchanged. He tried it a second time, and still no change. He told me he had never seen a phone refuse the firmware like this, and he said there was nothing he else he could think of to try. He said even if I could flash the firmware, it might still refuse to receive updates and I'd have to keep flashing it to get all the updates. His suggestion was to just wait and try to see if I could get a deal on an S20.
This phone is paid off, and still in great condition. I'd really rather not have to replace it less than a year after I got it. I've thought about trying to flash the phone myself with Odin, but I'm not sure whether I need to try it with AT&T firmware or US Cellular firmware. Furthermore, I can't find AT&T firmware for the SM-G975U, only the SM-G975U1, and I'm not even sure if it's up to date. What are your suggestions?
You could try updating using the Frija & Odin method found in News & Discussion board, then see if next month you receive OTA?

What does it show for you over there?
Your phone is probably still on the US Cellular CSC.
I'd recommend flashing the G975U1 ATT firmware if you want ATT features, or the XAA firmware, to convert your device to a completely unbranded variant with no carrier apps.
You can use SamFirm or Frija to get the firmwares.
Use 'SM-G975U1' as the model and for the CSC, use 'ATT' if you want the AT&T firmware, or 'XAA' if you want the unbranded firmware.
Flash it with patched Odin here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117912211
You will have to wipe/reset the entire phone with this process, so make sure to use Smart Switch to backup your data.

Hey, thanks for the advice.
My service provider software information version is:
SAOMC_SM-G975U_OYN_ATT_PP_0039
R58M20FYAKW
ATT/ATT/USC
I've looked at both Frija and SamFirm/Updato. Frija doesn't seem to recognize ATT or OYN as a CSC for me when I try using it in the auto search for either SM-G975U or SM-G975U1. Updato has an AT&T firmware, but it's from Nov 2019 and is still Android 9. SamMobile claims to have more up to date firmware, but their download links always send me to the registration page, even after I already registered (I'm guessing they're not as free as they claim to be).

Ah, it seems like your device has switched to the ATT CSC but remained on a US cellular build, resulting in there being no available update file on the ATT server.
Download the XAA unbranded G975U1 firmware with Frija.
I completely forgot that ATT doesn't host their firmware files on Samsung servers, instead it uses its own servers for updates.
Updato and SamMobile are both greedy and want you to pay for uncapped download speeds so I wouldn't recommend using them.
With patched Odin can change the csc? I have G977B and cannot change the csc.

Only applies to US variants when switching from G975U to G975U1.
It's 'patched' as it bypasses the model number check.

Thank you.
It took me forever to find someone with this problem / solution.
I switched from Verizon to Xfinity Mobile and had not received a security patch since Oct '21 and was still on Android 11.
You'd think that this problem occurs often enough that support would know the solution.
Xfinity Mobile told me Samsung was responsible.
Samsung (Best Buy Geek Squad who is certified Samsung Service Center) said Xfinity Mobile is responsible but gave me the idea that the phone might be 'stuck' on Verizon so it can't pull the updates from Xfinity Mobile.
The build was from Verizon.
I installed the latest build from Xfinity Mobile (CHA) for this model phone (SM-G973U) so it now has Android 12 with Dec '22 security patch.
I'm guessing that the updates will work now but I won't find out for 3 months since the S10 is now on quarterly releases.
Thanks 2x.
Scott
