This is offtopic, but System App Remover allowed me to remove system apps, especially Gapps I don´t use. The coolest thing is the deleted app can go to a trash bin while I tested H7 for errors and only then decide to permanently delete the app. For example, I replaced Swype keyboard by a updated and more powerful version.
I found it much more cleaner and straightforward than Titanium Backup. But root is required.
@non-toxic have you give it a go at B380?

My H7 plays a beep when ends a call. I've not setup anything in particular, it just does...

i had add some new apps: see first post
Auto Brightness; Auto Starter (Auto Run); Neutron m_u_s_i_c_p_l_a_y_e_r

I'll try out the music player.. Nice!

I have changed my suggestion for "VELIS" Auto Brightness" to "LUX Auto Brightness" because this app seems to have a better working on Honor 7

[Solution] MUST-HAVE For X2 Users! Speed Tweaks & How to Disable "Slideview" & Panels
DISCLAIMER: This works for me 100%. I have noticed 200% - 300% longer lasting battery life, AND at least 3 - 4 times more responsiveness throughout the whole phone, you can even benchmark the difference between stock X2 and an X2 run with my solution. I will not be held responsible for any damage to your phone!
I've read a lot, and done a lot on my X2 recently. From what I tested, black screen of death (when in standby mode) = DONT USE AUTO BACKLIGHT! Try this & see what happens.
Now, my X2 barely freezes or gets any lag at all, in fact, it is SMOOTH. Yes, you heard it, SMOOTH (even when scrolling through start menu).
Using the X2 as of now is a nightmare, but I've come up with a solution until MR2 comes out. And, lets hope MR2 really is for the best.
This solution is based on the standard WM today home screen. I haven't come across ANY problems at all.
One day, I came up with an idea. If I dont use tilewave, why do I have to keep it? Considering growing panel, pixel city panels caused lag to the phone, I decided to delete tilewave altogether and now my phone is significantly faster!
Standard WM today screen I think, is in fact I think its the best:
Less battery drainage, simple, fast, efficient, no black screen of deaths.
This solution works BEST if you follow ALL STEPS BELOW:
1) Uninstall Growing Panel, Pixel City (Day & Night) | (Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs)
2) Uninstall all SPB shell and software. (Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs)
3) Start -> Settings -> Today -> Tick Date & Messaging (Or any other plug-in of your choice, less the better)
4) Delete tilewave panel in (File Explorer -> Program Files -> Panels)
5) Delete the other panels of your choice, I deleted everything except google panel (In case today panel for some reason crashes, I still got google panel to work with) | (File Explorer -> Program Files -> Panels)
6) SKtools (Search SKtools on XDA forums search function) -> Tweak -> Optimise -> Tick Font cache size and TCP window size -> Action -> Performance -> Optimise -> Soft reset
7) Advanced configuration tool (Search in XDA forums for the program / google it) -> Performances ->
ENABLED
File system cache: 8MB
File system cache size: 16384 sectors
Glyph cache: 32kb
8) SKtools -> Category -> Clean up -> Go to EACH and EVERY option to delete bad registries, temp cache folders, bad uninstall info, etc. MAKE SURE clean up EACH option in clean-up. INCLUDING registry optimiser, do it!
9) To resolve the messaging lag: Search "SMS lag fix" in XDA forums to get rid of lag.
10) Disable Slideview: Delete the string "launch199" from HKLM\init (Use TotalCommander program, credits to bazsikar & jerpelea for this one!)
11) Disable Panel Manager (OPTIONAL): Delete ALL panels except MS_Today panel in programfiles\panels to disable panelmanager.exe
12) Disable XKeyhandler: SKtools-> Services-> Delete xkeyhandler. Step 2: Totalcommander-> HKLM -> init -> Delete Launch65
13) DONE! Soft-reset one last time, and FEEL the difference =)
This solution covers, as far as I know, the general basic operations and responsiveness of the entire windows mobile system for the X2 and/or other WM devices. I don't suffer any MR1 upgrade issues with this solution other than the "Storage card disappearing" issue, which everyone is having a problem with as well.
Disabling slideview is good option for those who think its totally useless (like me) and just causes the system to crash, and hogs A LOT of CPU resources and thus, lags the phone and also plays a role in causing the black screens. You will notice a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE in battery life and less bugs and crashes with this one!
Credits go to XDA-developers and their respective authors for the posts, you know who you are. All I've done is complile the information and made a solution for the X2 users out there.
UPDATE: To disable slideview, read step 10, credits to bazsikar & jerpelea =)
UPDATE 2: To disable panel manager and panels, read step 11 & 12 =)
ALL THE STEPS COMBINED ABOVE WILL GIVE YOU A FAST, SMOOTH X2 WITH NO BLACK SCREEN OR CRASHES + 400% IMPROVED BATTERY LIFE (1 MONTH SO FAR, I HAVENT HAD A SINGLE CRASH OR BUG)
Feedback welcome, and please report if this works for you, because it worked for me 100% =)
Thanks for the update , I will give the SK tools thing a crack later.
Thanks for tip!
I got stability on a real good level
by just not using TileWave.
SlideView has sometimes problem with
video playing in Landscape mode...
Seems to be a bit quicker, we will see how stable it is.
thx royalbloodvi but nothing new in the solutions
Just finished with the tunning, it seems faster, lets give it a try
for now i leave my benchmark results

Hi all
Im having a strange and annoying issue..., i dont know if it was after or before the procedure depicted here by royalbloodvi but maybe you can know what is going on..
If i install software on the storage card, i can see the folder created under "Program Files" and i can execute the software with no problems.
Then when i close the app, somehow, automagically the entire folder structure under "Storage Card\Program Files" gets erased, doesnt matter if i have one or twenty apps there, always happens the same thing ....
I dont know if i explain myself clearly, in fact english is not my mother language as you can see haha, but i dont know whats going on, even in this case i dont know which keywords i have to use to google it...
Please if you can give me some advice or trick would be very appreciated, even the "right" english keywords to search for it.
Thanks in advance dudes...

And also thanks for your sharing, I'm just removing everything you suggested and let's see. Although I'm a bit sad because I like SlideView and TileWave, especially visualy but I need some functions working properly instead, so I give it a try.
As I extensively use X2, using most of it's features (besides GPS)
I must say that the main thing FOR ME was to not use extensively TileWave.
After beeing really frustrated and unhappy, I was still tracing the places where the device crash.
And found it was using some functions on TileWave, I can say it
after repeating the patterns about 50 times, I was like a real beta tester....
So avoiding it, the device works almost seamless....
The bugs I see:
As I mentioned, the main SlideView bug is playing and exiting video playback
in landscape... This always crash sooner or later.
Besides that, the device gets stuck in Sound&Notification settings once you go there sometimes
and WM Homescreen sometimes doesn't see the pictures from memory card.
Besides that, it works and if they'll ever make it reliable,
it's my best choice.
volks,
i have been using x1 for over an year and been in XDA for yearssss,
that thing that i notice in openGL (msn 7200 platform)freeze the phone and crash the system.
if you wanna crash your sytem use slideview panelmanger ,play xtrakt then run a video and your xperia will crash.
opengl on the msm 7200 platfom is very unstable(maybe its the lack of good drivers or window mobile integration).
avoid opengl stuff and you will be good.
UPDATE: To disable panelmanager.exe, simply delete all panels in programfiles\panels EXCEPT MS_Today panel, and panelmanager will no longer run.
Result: Extend battery life EVEN further! Works best for those who dont use panels like me (I find it pointless)

Yes, I deleted it aswell from HKLM\init together with xkeyhandler.exe
Good battery life and stable system, no freezing at all, no missed sms or calls.
Although camera still doesn't start sometimes even if saving location is set to phone memory.

Camera sometimes doesn't start with certain apps in the background
that's my finding.
I've had it with stopwatch running.
Once I turned this off, camera went fine.
As for me - I use panels and SlideView, but just don't use certain
things from these, also no freezes at all.
The main concern is memory card problems now!
(please excuse my english)
thanks for this solution, X2 is better whitout slideview.
but i have always probleme this memory card (like everybody)
and some crash in standy by mode -> black screen and soft reset :'(
other problème : illluminations don't work normaly (maybe because i have use a cab find in xda ...)
and picture in mms are very very very small ...
anybody was an idea ?
thanks

Disable phone system update check/notification?

I'm running a rooted 6P with TWRP and a custom kernel. Just got a notification for an OTA. Obviously, I can't run this update. How can I disable the update check? I have ROM Manager and know how to disable apps, but don't see any obvious update check system app.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I use disable services for this purpose. Download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice
Open and click on the system tab, then Google's play services, then scroll down to bottom and un check system update service and then reboot phone. Just don't go around disabling other things unless you know what you're doing .
Won't this create the dreaded systemupdate wakelock?
EDIT:
The tool doesn't work at all. It may be due to the fact that Amplify is installed and is blocking due to having similar functionality. I tried disabling it in amplify instead and it does remove the notification but adds a wakelock that keeps the phone awake from systemupdate. The only way of getting rid of it right now that I know if is:
A) Hold notification and choose block all notifications from google play framework but this will also block other potentially useful and relevant notifications coming from there. All notifications regarding your watch probably, plus update notifications for the framework when it's outdated etc. Disabling it all is probably not a good idea at all.
B) Using Notifyclean xposed module. Feels like an overkill for this one job but it works I guess.
NOT working methods:
A) Disabling the service: leaves a wakelock that keeps your device awake. Some says it's not "active" but showing up in bbs but that's not right, I've noted the count from screen off to screen on again and it does indeed increase when screen is off. Tried in Amplify, service disable won't work for me when Amplify is installed anyway.
B) Disabling 3 service receivers. First of all autostarts won't work on 6.0, rom toolbox lite says it works although won't show the entries unticked after reboot. It seems to work in the sense that the notification is removed. Same result here though: wakelock.
C) Combining A and B: same result.
Untried methods:
Combining A with also disabling the wakelock in Amplify.
Let me know if anyone has better/other ideas. I went for solution number B. I worry that notifyclean might cause some other issue but I'm trying it out for now. Only thing I've noticed so far is a notification synced by mighttext that is empty from notifyclean which I blocked.

MIUI kills background processes and possible solution

Hi all
I discovered that MIUI very aggressively kills background processes, which are needed for Push functions. Affected apps on my device (now with Global 8.0.3.0, but also with Chinese developer 6.x.x. Haven't tested 7.x.x.) are Touchdown, KIK, Gmail, Threema and others.
Those apps don't seem to have Push correctly working, some apps get messages with several hours delay.
I allowed all those apps to Autostart in the Settings -> Permissions.
There is an option in the Android Developer Options (To enable Developer Options Settings App > About Phone > MIUI Version > Keep on tapping till it is enabled.) called MIUI Optimization, which seems to have an effect on the memory process killing, but maybe also on the Permission functions. After I disabled this option and rebooted, several apps were running, although they weren't in the autostart permitted list. It's possible though, that they were active before the reboot and MIUI restarted them after the reboot.
Source:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...de-redmi-note-3-sd-mtk-multi-tasking-t3358433
Turn On MIUI Optimization : This option enables a pleothora of MIUI based settings & optimizations as per the guidelines set by the MIUI developers. This setting can sometimes cause a variety of issues on non-MIUI based apps such as Google Apps & Apps from Google Playstore. Its better to disable if you rely on Google Playstore for apps & services.
With the MIUI Optimization Enabled, some users reported the following issues.
- Cannot set third-party launcher like Nova, Apex or Google Now Launcher.
- Wallpaper cannot be set using in-built options via custom launchers.
- Occasional lags, stutters or freezes while scrolling web-pages & long lists.
- Custom apps set as default restore to default MIUI apps on reboot.
- Cannot set accessibility services on reboot.
- Background apps cannot sync data.
- Music players stop playing after sometime.
- UI Animations are not synced properly.

So far it doesn't seem to help though, but I'm testing a bit further.

You can also use, Push Notification Fixer from Google play. I only had the problem when using chinese rom. After switching to global, the notification a lot better
Go to the security app and inside saving battery settings and uncheck apps you don't want Miui to manage.
Done that now too, although I have already disabled the battery saver. I wonder if this will help a little, at the moment I don't get messages/notifications to my smartwatch, for example.
Hi,
This guide helped me (somehow): http://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin/...ions-on-xiaomis-miui-8-for-real/#1434cfd94e1b.
The 5 steps in short are:
Settings --> Battery & performance --> Manage apps battery usage --> choose apps --> select app that should receive push notifications and set "No restrictions"
Settings --> Permissions --> Autostart --> activate for all apps that should receive notifications
Settings --> Notifications & status bar --> App notifications --> select relevant app and activate "Priority"
In the overview of running apps/app manager lock the relevant apps (swiping down)
Settings --> Additional settings --> Developer options --> Memory optimisation --> set to "Off"
Push notifications now work perfectly on one phone (Redmi 3s with latest stock global rom stable), while i have still some troubles on another one (Mi 5s with latest xiaomi.eu stable). For the later the mail client (k9 mail) does not poll the mailboxes at the defined intervals (while k9 works fine on the redmi). Maybe also a configuration problem of k9, have no idea yet...
Regards,
gp

k9 is indeed cumbersome to the extent that you have a lot of settings and you have to apply many of them for each individual account separately. Sometimes less is more...
But once you managed that you can make use of the export/import settings function.
Most important feature for me is that all account settings are kept inside the app and can not be queried by other apps (which would be the case if the info is stored in the android account store).
Never tried Sol Mail so can't tell how this app manages the accounts...
I don't know either.
I choose Sol Mail after I had choose K9 because they offer unified view for received and sent message from every account into one single screen.

Closing Idle apps on Screen off

Hi,
It has been a while since I have been able to play with custom ROMs as my previous phone was not well supported.
I have just now switched over to the Axon 7 and have just started setting it up as my daily driver. I Installed NucleaROM with LIGHT PATCH, Open GApps and ARISE Sound System. All seems to be working fine but I have one issue and I think it may be a feature from not just the Custom ROM of choice but the underlying source (ResurrectionROM/LineageOS).
When I first setup the phone, it had an option on the lock screen to customize how apps are closed (i believe the term was Smart Close) when the device is idle and the screen is off. I remember looking through it and having options for which apps are closed and which are to remain running.
Since then I have installed a collection of apps, one of which is the Garmin Connect which I need to run when the screen is off.
I am unable to find how to get to these options now. I have looked through the power options and cannot see it.
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for your assistance.
As I have started to use the phone a little more I have noticed that this is having another effect.
It seems to be closing my keyboard app so every time I unlock it goes back to the stock keyboard and I need to select SwiftKey again.
I hope someone knows where these settings are.
I have found a workaround for now, but if anyone knows how to control the SmartBattery application, it would be greatly appreciated.
I believe this function is coming from the System App called Smart Battery. I have gone into Settings -> Apps then selected the menu to show system apps. From there I was able to locate the SmartBattery app and disable it.
This seems to be working for me as by Garmin Fitness tracker was losing BlueTooth to the phone before but not now with that app disabled.
I'm not entirely positive about this, as I've never heard of that app. At first, I thought you were talking about the screen lock cleaning feature from the power manager on stock. After your follow up post indicating you had actually found reference to the app on your system and a bit of Googling, I was able to find some reference to it. Nothing useful, I'm afraid.
Try using an app that can launch activities, like Nova Launcher or Tasker. Try to find the app in the list, and see if you can launch it by calling for one of its activities.
P.S., if you're running RR, if you have a look at the extended settings, there might be a way to set the nav keys long-press action to a custom activity. Remember to enable the app, otherwise it might not show up in any lists.

What kind of glitches?
on mine i can't remove the top most notification on settings (customize your a2 phone with wallpapers, blabla)
L.E. and the notification led was broken for a bit, fixed itself after a few restarts.
No boot loop (I was afraid)
It took about 5 minutes to restart, after password took about 3 minutes with the message your phone is starting, and it restarted again, then everything is fine.
*Camera API2 not enabled, (Though this would be it but...Xiaomi)
*the downloads issue from past update is gone
*camera seems fine,
*there's this app called "Device Personalization Services" which just crashes, it can be unistalled though
*persistance Custumize your Mi A2 message at the top of settings (can't dissmiss it?)
Everything else seems fine so far.
Gestures in third party launchers don't work
So I've installed it, here are some important points worth mentioning :
1- no camera 2 api
2- no ARCore
3- The device personalisation services which is the app responsible for app suggestions in app menu and smart replies etc. is now visible via app menu and it shouldn't
4- Google play music is now force installed, you could uninstall it in pie and Oreo
5- remember how we complained about xiaomi not adopting to new Google material design guide lines by making dialog corners edgy ? Well it became seriously worse, everything is pointy and I don't like it
6- Google Assistant gestures are not working
7- all new features are working pretty well including new gestures and system wide dark mode and new theming options in developer options, tho unlike pixels system wide dark mode doesn't apply at boot screen
8- I suspect there's again some noises coming from camera, better check that yourself
9- there's an annoying banner in settings about some suggestions which you can't get rid of , possibly because of Device Personalisation Services app being faulty
10- if you have 2 users set on your phone you can't see the user switcher until you turn it on and off in settings
11- The security patch is still from December so expect another OTA in near days before next month which possibly includes bug fixes and January patch
12- some quick step ( default launcher ) features aren't working, you wanna guess which ? You're damn right, the ones related to Device Personalisation Services.
13- a lot of lagging, well there's nothing really there to say about it, is it? Expect some annoying lags.
14- the trusted face option is removed from smart Lock so you can't unlock your device with face recognition at the moment.
What about disabling Device Personalisation app?
i'll add a few bits:
- no longer says charging quickly (i hope it's just a display thing and still fastcharges)
clear cache on the device personalization services and it should stop crashing on load (still doesnt open, but wont see the force close)
Bluetooth is not working to me

Hi, I don't think you should disable it, well you can uninstall it but that would be pointless. Device Personalization Services is an app which was present in OS since Android pie and it has always been hidden as a part of system apps, now due to a bug it's not working and it's being shown in apps list like any other app
Audio
Multimedia audio doesn't seem to work yet the other audio channels seem fine, anyone else?

1- requires device with pie release(ours oreo)
2- arcore with sdm660 ? hell no
14- it is completely removed in ten. not xiaomi's fault

*persistance Custumize your Mi A2 message at the top of settings (can't dissmiss it)
Everything else seems fine so far.
