Easiest way to factory reset with a damaged screen - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

My screen just died (had the purple / green dots all over the display before it died) and I am going to send it in for a repair.
Is there an easy way to factory reset my phone? I was able to backup my pictures etc, phone is still turned on. Screen is just turning green when I unlock it.

Hi,
Boot into recovery by powering your phone down and turning it on holding the power+volume up+home buttons, then wait a bit (to be safe wait around 1min). If you can see the screen is black, that means the recovery menu started (before it, the screen will be blue), now tap the volume down button 4 times - exactly 4 times to select factory reset option -, tap the power button to select the option, now tap volume down exactly 1 time and power button one last time. Your device will be factory reset .
All the best,
~Lord

How to perform a factory reset?

Hey people, Just started setting up my HTC HD2 when i came to the last page of the setup and pressed "finish" the device locked up and crashed :-(
Then when i put the phone back on none of the settings i had set worked and the setup option was no longer there it just went straight through to the UI.
What do i do to pretend it never happened as if im starting again?
Hard reset:
Hold "volume up + volume down and press soft reset button" (all together)
Soft reset button is under battery cover
With the HD2 switched off, press Volume down + Volume up and then briefly press send end key. The bootloader should appear.
To perform a clear storage.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap Security > Factory reset.
2. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
so which method is right? lol
both, one is via GUI (windows screen) the other is manual/mechanical way

samsung galaxy s7 bricked

My phone wont start anymore it just goes to the att logo and freezes and i also wont go into recovery mode. The model number is SM-G935A.
Switch your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge completely.
Boot into Galaxy S7 recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power keys at the same time.
Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S7 screen flickers and you see a warning sign.
Press Volume Up to continue to the main screen of Recovery mode. Or, press Volume Down if you aren’t sure and want to go back to the normal mode.
You can also try from totally off, press volume up, home, and power.
Last, it sounds as if you recently tried to root?
If that is the case just get into recovery, I know sometimes it can be a pain to get there, and then factory reset in there and you should be back up and running.

It wont boot into recovery mode it just show recovery booting flashing in blue letters then it restarts regularly
If you do not know what you are doing best bet for you is to take it somewhere to get restored. Safest way is to take it to the Samsung reps inside a Bestbuy call ahead and explain the model so they can start downloading the correct firmware.

S7 Edge BSoD Extra Info. needed
Hi,
Phone: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935FD
I was using my phone to send a txt (and at the same time I think I was receiving a text or call because the menu and back touch buttons were lit up) and all of a sudden the phone crashed as I tried to finish my text but the touch wasnt responding, then the backlight turned of like it does if the phone is not being used. But the strange thing was that the menu and back touch buttons stayed lit up (Solid).
I tried many methods to restart the phone:
Power button + volume down (FAILED)
Power button + volume up (FAILED)
Power button + volume down + Home (FAILED)
Power button + volume up + Home (FAILED)
So I thought I'll let the battery die and then recharge and hopefully the phone would automatically restart like normal, however the phone does not show sign of charging now.
So I tried to connect to the PC but it wasn't being recognized however when I press and hold the power button a sound of detecting a device sounds and then when I take my finger off the sound of detaching occurs. But I couldn't see anything happening, until I went into device manager, under "Other Devices" , "Exynos8890" appears which I know is the chipset.
This is as much as I know of the problem. How do I solve thins problem without trying to factory reset the phone and lose all my data?
PS: I didn't backup my photos (My baby children only copies) or Notes in NotePad, which has some very important info.

Galaxy s8 stuck on white tmobile screen

I was using my galaxy s8 like normal. Listening to google play music, scrolling through twitter. It was at like 8% battery then it just rebooted, whatever didnt think much of it. But now its at the white Tmobile screen with the LED a solid blue. I cant get it past this screen. Holding the power button doesn't force it to reset. Any one else have this issue before?
did you try to hould power and vol. down for about 10 sec...?

Soft reset with hardware keys
A soft reset is a simulated battery removal. This is used to power a device off when the screen is frozen or unresponsive and the device it has an internal battery that cannot be removed. It does not cause loss of personal data on the device.
1. Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
2. Wait as the device restarts.

Press and hold together: Volume Up + Home + Power button for a couple of seconds. Factory reset: After that select from Recovery Mode menu "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
or if not
Press and hold together: Volume Down + Home + Power button for a couple of seconds.
And try to flush again
