[HELP][ODIN][KIES] Can my SPH-L720 be saved from my Noob mistake? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Got a FreedomPOP SPH-L720, but it had issues with power cycling on boot.
During this, I activated TWRP 2.7.1.0 and "fixed permissions" and "factory reset"
Then made the mistake of "Formatting" after which the phone would reach the splash screen and go no further.
Attempted to resolve with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486134
Wound up with:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SPH-L720
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 8X8
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 8X1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 8X30
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
eMNC BURST MODE: enabled
With the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
However, all versions of Kies I tried were unable to connect.
Also, one of the message outputs upon entering TWRP was "SEANDROID RECOVERY NOT ENABLED"

You probably need to find the stock rom for your carrier and Odin that.

Using katodragon's OK3 ROM, and everything's fine now

[Q] Possible Soft Brick? S4 AT&T

Hey guys,
I decided that I wanted to root my phone for a custom rom. I used towelroot and odin to root my phone. It rooted successfully.
Heres where the problem is:
I installed twrp, and scrolled through menu options so I could install a Recovery. However, whenever I tried to install the rom, it would always take me to the default boot menu, therefore i was unable to get a rom. Long story short, twrp has caused my download mode menu to enable write protection. I went onto supersu, and removed my root. I just want to go back to factory/ stock rom and remove root. I downloaded samsungs firmware from their site and tried using odin, but this gives me a fail and states that "complete (write) operation failed".
My phone displays:
SGH-I337
Samsung Official
Custom system status
Knox kernal lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty viod: 0x0
CSB-config-lsb 0x30
write protection: enable
eMMC burst mode enable
I have tried to flash it back to stock so many times. Now I am getting a msg that says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue" -kies does not help remove this.
-I am using the original cable
-I can only boot into recovery and download mode.
-My main goal is to go back to stock.

What firmware version are you on? You're probably going to have to use odin to get your phone working correctly again.

What firmware are you on?
If you upgraded past 4.4.2 mdlish then you have to safestrap.
Sounds like a soft brick to me, you have to Odin back and try again.
Make sure you Odin back to what you have/had or your stuck forever with safestrap.
If you don't know how to Odin read the giant back to stock guide.

Have I bricked my Note 4?

Hi guys. I'm having some problems with my Note 4. I previously have rooted the phone, but tried to use SuperSU to unroot it. I was getting errors loading some apps telling me that phone was still rooted so I attempted to do a factory reset on the phone. Somewhere along the road I appear to have messed up the firmware.
Basically, when powered on my phone states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." If I open the recovery menu on my phone (power+home+vol. down) it says
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N910F
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
AP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
UDC START
I have tried using Kies (both versions) which say that my phone is not recognised in the emergency firmware recovery options, and the firmware upgrade option fails.
I have also tried using Odin using firmware N910FXXU1COJ3_N910FO2U1COJ1_O2U and N910FXXU1BOC3_N910FO2U1BOC1_O2U.
I am totally stuck for ideas. Is my phone bricked?
Unfortunately I can't upload screen shots due to my account status.

Judging for your answer I assume that you are kinda "new" to this ROOT & flashing ROM stuff?
Am I correct?
If you are "new" to this stuff....I suggest you read & re-read everything before "plunging deep into the abyss"
Now the answer,
ROOT & Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop Kernel is a NO GO!
By updating your KitKat 4.4.4/Lollipop 5.0.1 into Lollipop 5.1.1 (BTW COJ stock update IS Lollipop 5.1.1) will remove your ROOT access.
Re-ROOTing it will cause a bootloop....IF you didn't change your kernel into a "Permissive" one.
Try flashing a custom permissive kernel if you are going to keep ROOTed.
It'll fix your problem.
Download ODIN, then go to samfirmware and download some software for your phone. Use Odin to flash whatever firmware back onto your phone and start again.

I can't enter Recovery mode, it's always bootloop, after flash custom recovery like TWRP, it's still same, just Downloading mode that I can enter...
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash rom, when you see the reset in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, replace battery, use buttons to boot into recovery (power, home, volume up) wipe, and reboot.

HELP? Stuck In ODIN, Samsung Galaxy GT-i9506 (SGH-i337)

Please Help me I don't Know the right FIRMWARE For this device. Here's an Information that I saw in my device. I'm really Confused what ROM to download. I used Safestrap App and Wipe My Device and It turns out Stuck at Samsung Logo with a picture of Padlock (that is Unlocked) and below the padlock it says "Custom". All I Can do is to go to DOWNLOAD MODE. I hope someone can Help or Give me Information. TIA
1.) When I try to update the software, my screen goes to AT&T Update screen, So I think it's an AT&T Device.
2.) When I go to DOWNLOAD MODE, Here's what I see:
Odin Mode.
SGH-I337
Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Write protection: enable
eMMC burst mode enabled
3.) Please See these Attachment Pictures (I use Sammobile App to Identify my device Info.)
Your device is what download mode says.
The pad lock screen is only on the AT&T s4 which is the sgh-i337. The phone has a locked bootloader and can only run custom ROMs that can be flashed using safestrap. You will need to re-flash the stock firmware.

Needing help - Stuck in Odin

Hi all,
Please bear with me, I'm in way over my head here and don't understand most of what I've done. I was experimenting when I probably shouldn't have been.
So, I installed DarkLord's Note 7 kernel and rom. I found it to be quite buggy and am now wanting to wipe my phone and install Phronesis-N9005-N7-v6.0.
Problem is, when trying to boot into TWRP, I'm met with the the following:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SM-N9005
Current binary: Custom
System status: Official
Reactivation lock(kk): Off
Knox Kernel lock: 0x0
Knox warranty void: 0x1
Qualcomm secureboot: Enable (csb)
Rp swrev: S2, T2, R2, A3, P3
Write protection: Enable
UDC start
Downloading...
Do not turn off target
I've had it on for hours and it didn't do anything.
I managed to reboot it and it ran as it did before, in Darklords rom.
I read I have to install the official firmware and install it via Odin but I can't find anything about my device. On the back of it, it says:
SM N9005
FCC ID - A3LSMN9005
SNN - N9005GSMH
When I enter it into sammobile, nothing comes up.
Have I got this wrong? Should I be looking for something else?
You are booting to download mode not recovery .
Boot to recovery TWRP
#N9005 model firmware are on sammobile etc.

Booting into recovery via TWRP manager just results in the same Odin screen for me
As for the firmware - I'm not really sure which region I should pick out of those. I just thought this was an international model, but then I downloaded an app called Phone INFO and it tells me it's Vietnam. Could this be because of the rom already on there? It does also say it's a Note 7, so I'm assuming it's incorrect.
TWRP manager
DO NOT USE just boot to recovery via the vol up home and power buttons as normal .
Copy Phronesis to ext sd card and flash as per instructions .
You have N9005 Pick your area /network where you are .
Phone Info can only go by what's on your phone and you flashed DarkLord's Note 7 firmware .
Booting via manager was a last resort. I was trying the usual way and it also resulting in the same thing.
Boot to download/ Odin mode flash stock rom .
Thanks JJEgan, I figured out how to use Odin3 and Odin mode, then install Phronesis. All is good now
