Will S7 Edge SM-G9350 Dual Sim work fully on AT&T? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I bought an S7 Edge SM-G9350 Dual Sim that is unlocked. I was planning on using it on AT&T but apparently the Dual Sim model isn't compatible with the 4G LTE in the US. The AT&T rep I worked with called his Samsung rep and verified it wouldn't work on 4G. We checked all the APN settings and bands the device is capable of, verifying it should work. Is there any way to make it work correctly as it seems to be a software issue?
I spoke with another AT&T rep who said it doesn't appear to have the region lock as it wouldn't activate on the AT&T network at all then but he didn't know why it wouldn't work. From the article I read the region lock is separate from the network lock. The region lock is removed if a phone call of 5 min is made in the area the phone is from. Then the region lock is deactivated. Here is the article I found. www . androidcentral.com/your-unlocked-euro-galaxy-s7-still-region-locked-thats-not-huge-deal
Would flashing another ROM work, or what level is the incompatibility? In the network settings there are listings for the carriers and their 2G and 3G settings but nothing else.

Apparently this thread double posted so this one can be deleted by a Mod

really... i'm calling BS on the reps... what is your definition of "working fully"? i have a dual sim G935FD and LTE works just fine on AT&T. the international version is missing 2 bands (29 and 30?), that's used in certain areas. other than that, i personally have not had any issues/ have you tried using an AT&T sim to confirm the phone won't work, use LTE? see below as well (WillMyPhoneWork.net):

SM-G900i use with AT&T

Hello all, i have a question regarding an Australian Telstra Galaxy S5 with att service. the phone works with voice and text but has no data or mms. i have added an apn from my sim card in a galaxy nexus that gets me edge service. i have found band selection in the service menu but non seem to make it any better. I'm sure LTE won't work but thats ok. as long as i can get 3g at least. do i need to flash say the att s5 modems? if so how? i have the modem file and another already extracted from the att firmware. thanks in advance.
Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900i branded telstra
i think firmware ANE1 4.4.2

Using a foreign handset on a system will never give you perfect coverage. That is by design, as both Samsung and carriers want to lock you in, not make it easy for you to change carriers. Or do so without buying a new phone.
The specs for your variant suggest that it has full coverage on ATT's 3G bands and partial coverage of their LTE allocations. You don't need an ATT modem, just make sure that your firmware is recent - which it will be by definition, as the S5 was only released a few months ago.
Unfortunately you didn't provide much detail, in particular whether you were roaming or a regular ATT customer. Things that you might check in general, that your phone doesn't blacklist any ATT MCCs (roaming restrictions). That you have the correct APN information and that your ATT SIM is properly provisioned for LTE.
.
Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. In service menu, I was picking compatible gsm bands. Back to network screen in settings, had it on gsm/lte only. That was giving me edge. Read more into wcdma and used network mode wcdma/gsm. That gives me H or H+. I know I won't get lte but with that network mode and another apn, I'm satisfied with the end results.
It sounds like you inadvertently blocked coverage with your previous settings. The default setting is automatic band select which should have worked fine.
Glad you figured it out in the end.
.
Yeah. It was the apn that was hurting me. Default it used the wap.cingular apn. I put my sim in a galaxy nexus and used the apn that gave me. Plus changing network mode. Thanks though!

Is there any way to activate 4G network simultaneously on both the sim of G935FD?

Can anyone here to tell me the way to make active both sims of S7 edge(G935FD) on 4g network simultaneously ?
*#*#4636#*#* gives the option to set both the sims on 4g at time but in samsung the code seems deactivated.
I have tried Samsung's *#0011# code for change the band but failed.
sorry the phone only allows one sim to active at a time including data.
Yeah. I also wanna know this..
I did my research a few months back and found out that the 128GB model of G935FD which was released in India had this option and was capable of dual 4G at the same time..
I did ask a question in Q&A section though nobody knew the fix to do it on 32GB G935FD

Flash Verizon S8 with european firmware

Hi guys,
I bought a Verizon s8 in the states and wanted to use it in Europe. I live in the Netherlands, so I swapped in my Vodafone some instead of using the Verizon Sim and everything works fine besides mobile data. I can not change the APN settings as they are locked. Carrier says it's Verizon though it's using the Vodafone Network.
So I was wondering, can I flash the firmware with a european version to get access to the APN settings and remove the carrier lock?
Best
the s8 verizon is not locked just put your sim card in and thats it.you cannot flash international rom on the us version odin wont let you it will fail even if you somehow made it it will brick the phone.the reason is because the us s8 version uses snapdragon chipset and the s8 international version uses exynos chipset they are completely different.
the option you have is to flash the us unlocked version to the verizon s8 i did on mine i have verizon also.

I was wondering is there a way to add more international languages on my s8+. I have managed to change parts of it but on menu and while scrolling in facebook it doesn't recognise i.e some norwegian / turkish letters and doesn't switch language in parts of menu.
The model i have is G955U1 ?
Thanks again.

Tv87, I am in the exact situation as you. Have you resolved your problem? If so, what was the solution?
I just moved to the Netherlands a few weeks ago and switched my S8's SIM Card from Verizon to Vodafone. Everything worked fine except for mobile data. The Vodafone rep told me that my APN settings were grayed out / locked; therefore, until they could be edited, my phone would not receive mobile data.

They are not locked, the phone still thinks it has a verizon sim and that's why you cant edit the settings, do a complete factory reset.
And anyways, even with editable apn settings you wont get lte, because your s8 is lacking the european lte bands.

What makes you say that?
https://www.phonearena.com/news/Che...on-T-Mobile-and-Sprint-use-in-the-USA_id77933
Says:
"In Europe, most carriers base their networks on bands 3 (1800 MHz), 7 (2600 MHz) and 20 (800 MHz). China, on the other hand, uses a whole different 4G LTE standard - while the Western world has rolled out FDD-LTE networks, China and large parts of Asia use TDD-LTE."
And several places online show all those as being supported on the g950u.

Am I missing something?

I did a factory reset while my Vodafone SIM Card was in the phone. I am now getting the following message:
Sorry, we're having trouble activating your phone.
If you're moving your phone number from your old phone to this one, make sure your old phone is turned off.
In addition, I get the following message on the very next screen:
You can set up your phone using Wi-Fi, but you won't be able to make or receive calls until your phone has been activated on the Verizon network.
Is there anyway to unhinge my phone from the Verizon network!? Before I left the United States, Verizon assured me my phone was not locked to their network; however, it appears to be based on the messages received after factory resetting my phone.

What you can try is to flash the USA csc instead of the VZW one that you have right now.

Sprint unlocked S8 but when I can't get it to work with gsm sims

I just got my S8 unlocked from Sprint, the UICC says it's unlocked for all sims in the settings. But I've tried both an AT&T sim and a T-mobile sim. The tmobile splash screen comes up and it even shows the tmobile phone number in my about phone settings, but I can't get any data or calling or anything to work. Same for AT&T. It even says AT&T up in the top as carrier but nothing works.
Do I need to do something like flash it, or is it possible they only did international unlock is why this is happening? Or is it because I still have Sprint service on the phone? All I know is in settings area for UICC it says any sim will work, but it's not working.

Sometimes service is dependant on the apn settings. Check those and make sure network settings are swapped to global. Also radio switcher app.
Lastly the sprint firmware may not have needed bands enabled. These are all the things to check first
