Galaxy On5 Pro SM-G550FY CF-Auto-Root issue - Samsung Galaxy On5 Questions & Answers

While there is no much mention in the XDA forums, I found that CF-Auto-Root is available for the device SM-G550FY which is Galaxy On5 Pro I purchased in India.
The entry in CF-Auto-Root entry is as follows --
samsung SM-G550FY o5proltedd o5prolte universal3475 exynos3 MMB29K.G550FYXXU1BPH1 6.0.1
This matches the build on my device MMB29K.G550FYXXU1BPH1 exactly so I thought to give it a try. Allowed OEM Unlock in developer options and flashed the CF-Auto-Root-o5prolte-o5proltedd-smg550fy.tar.md5 file in AP in provided Odin with CF-Auto-Root.
It failed and device stuck on half white screen in download mode. No buttons working, battery pull was the only option and now stuck in bootloader with a warning saying "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the SmartSwitch PC Software".
I am now downloading the Stock G550FYXXU1BPH1 from sammobile to flash from Odin again.
Anyone has any idea? Encountered this error before. This is my first Samsung, so a bit less fluent with Odin and its working.
Thanks

i rooted my galaxy s5 and it always fail in recovery... and when i get out from the download mode, everything's ok, my galaxy s5 worked well.
and the problem came one hour ago, i reset my phone to factory settings and tried to root again and it works!!
but the process stucked at cache.img,
and i tried to get out from the download mode and i find "FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE. ......"
i tried to recover my device with samsung kies, but kies cannot detect my phone.
i need your help guys...
im an android newbie, just moved from ios
please help me
I had the same exact problem. Flashing CWM Recovery got me out of that nasty screen. You don't need to use the recovery - the mere act of installing it seems to have done the trick for me.
In the end I couldn't root but I am glad my phone works.

Andy Ibanez, I love you man! I thought i was in deep muck when i came across your solution. Thank you once again!
It sounds like you had a failed i.e. partial write and /or partition corruption.
Flashing a custom recovery is an expedient fix, but you may still have corrupt partitions that can cause you problems later. You should find the appropriate PIT (partition information) file to match your current firmware and flash that to assure a stable system.
Hey there
I had the same problem. The screen showed the ' firmware issue' message.
I used the odin 3.09 to flash the CF Root again and this time it worked properly.
i didn't loose any files and the root works perfectly

Which Tab4 do you have? Tmobile? If so I have a zip file you can use to odin back to stock. I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to root. Once it gets to that point, kies doesn't seem to function. But odin still recognizes the device. I have an SM-T337T. Let me know.
Could you post the link of the rooting method site please?

MY galaxy tab 4 is the wifi version model SM-T230 and ive been trying to get stock file even tho its at that screen where it says

now when i connect it to kies it says device not supported and screen flashes on off. im using a win xp machine will that make any difference aswell.

Only think i've found for that firmware is a UK version. Not quite sure why there isn't a US version readily available. Anyhow, You can download it from here. The version from June might be able to be rooted using towelroot. But the May version definately can be rooted using that method. Here is the link Hope it helps.

Just lol. Definitely not Samsung's fault. The 9005 is hard to brick, only user error is the culprit.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 8 using XDA Labs
User needs to post information if any progress is to be made.
Download mode ??
Recovery mode ??
Nandroid backup ??
NO roms on here say use Flashfire do they ??
i've flashed devices before, htc, lg and other brand, but samsung are the hardest one to understand lol...
btw no download mode, there is no recovery, no backups..just dead phone..my windows 7 reads the phone in device manager like: qhsusb_bulk...cant find any drivers for that...cant pass in odin too..i tried debrick.img method, nothing worked so far..last i was using twrp with 5.0.wont..i think its eMMC...
If the following approach works, un-brickable Note3 can be claimed.

CF-Auto Root on SM-G950FD

Hello everyone, i noticed chainfire put cf auto root on his website for SM-G950F, and i have the SM-G950FD, will this root file works for my device ?
Edit ; the root file in chainfire's website indicate this firmware build number : NRD90M.G950FXXU1AQDG , and i'm on NRD90M.G950FXXU1AQDD
Thank you in advance.
Have you tried it? I also got the G950FD but there's no specific file for it.
I got the SM-G955FD, also want to know if the F version will work just fine or not.

can you show some proof/screenshot that the one for SM-G950F works also for SM-G950FD? Thank you.
Just making a quick comment, should someone see this and have the Snapdragons... While you may find the download file.. Read this on the site.
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !
Pics from my s8
its work >>>
c f auto root sm-950fd
flash with odin >> put in ap & flash
verefication fail with me 3 time re flash & now good
remember oem un lock & setup driver sam on pc

I tried the 955F one, didnt work, booted to an error of integrity and had to reflash stock rom.
Can I turn off OEM-Unlock after the phone is rooted? Thanks in advance.
Cf autoroot g955fd
Will the root disappear after factory reset?...Had tried G955F CF autoroot on G955FD and it worked like a treat..

I recently purchased the S8 Plus [SM-955FD], because I got tired of waiting for root. I am selling my SM-G955U T-Mobile. I flashed the TWRP file for SM-G955F and the phone went into a bootloop (stuck at Samsung Logo and wasn't turning off). It kept saying the phone could not be verified and keep looping.
At this point, I had nothing to lose so I downloaded this file from CF-Auto-Root website: samsung SM-G950F dreamltexx dreamlte universal8895 exynos5 NRD90M.G950FXXU1AQDG 7.0Download 32f539743cd2959c42120ab4cf34a870. The zipped file had another version of Odin [Odin3-v3.10.6.exe] than the one I used to flash the TWRP. I flashed the CF-Auto-Root file using the Odin version [Odin3-v3.10.6.exe] it came with. I was pleasantly surprised that it fixed the bootloop and rooted the phone. Using the same Odin version, I flashed TWRP again and it worked. So, I have a rooted S8 Plus and life is good. It will be better when I sell the T-Mobile version.
The SM-G955FD is working well with the T-mobile network - LTE speed.
the knox flag is remain at 0x0??

Samsung J3 SM-320 ZN TWRP Recovery File issue.

Hi All,
I have a Samsung J3 SM-320ZN, I have read heaps of posts and are trying to flash TWRP onto the device and then via PC root my device. The issue I'm finding is that it appears that I do not have the specific TWRP file for the ODIN transfer, it comes up with PASSED, but when I try launch Recovery, I hit a dead end. My only thoughts are is that I'm using the wrong TWRP file that is not compatible TWRP for this device. Is there a specific one for this device or an alternative.

If you have a nandroid backup or can find your current firmware on sammobile (in case it goes sideways) you could try the routing method for the J320FN, the specs seem very similar so it may work.

Very bad info.
Dead end means what... The device self destructs , it disappears in a puff of smoke, it grows legs and runs away?
Explain yourself in proper detail if you want real help.
Have any of you been able to root this device? I've tried several of my usual PC root programs and they all failed.
I'll look into J3020FN as suggested but there's little info (that I can find anyway) on ZN so it would be great if someone posted their method.
Why in the hell do Aussie phones have such issues btw? This is my second phone that seems to have random/rare issues.
