Micromax Canvas A350 Questions - Micromax Canvas Knight Questions & Answers

Hey Everyone. Hi
My Mom has a Micromax Canvas Knight A350 running on Android Kitkat. The phone used to hang a lot(thanks to pre-installed apps). I rooted the phone using KingRoot, installed Titanium Backup and wiped them all. But still, the phone is slow(atleast it's slow for a phone which has 2GB of ram and an octa-core processor). So I want to install a Custom ROM(i know it will wipe out everything, so I have taken a backup)
But, while browsing XDA for roms, I found out that there are many ROMS for the A350, but while installing, all say download the rom to the SD card. How am I supposed to install a rom on the phone from the sd card, if it does not have an SD card slot. Also, I couldn't find any recovery for the A350 which gave decent information.
Can any senior member suggest how do I proceed further? Which is the best recovery I should install? And which rom do I use?(I would prefer a ROM with the latest android version
Thanks a lot.

I'm here!
Now as you are saying that you want ROM with latest android version I.e. 6.0(MM) so you need to flash stock v3 first through sp flash tools before you can flash any MM custom ROM.
Head over to- www.canvasknightroms.blogspot.in
Go to root section, there you will find all the info regarding difference between v2(on which you are currently on) and v3(on which you should be) and all the info regarding how to flash it etc... Then go to recovery section there choose Philz recovery for v3 and flash it through sp flash tools, rashr or flashify etc.
Then just flash any ROM you want. Also it doesn't matter if it is showing internal or SD card as long as your files are in there when that option is selected.
Any other doubts you can always contact me

[Q] Rooting and CWM in EU?

Hi there,
i'm a bit confused now. My Xoom (German Wi-Fi only, MZ604) should arrive this week and i wanna root it and flash the eos ics-nightly, but from what i've read, there are different root-methods for us and non-us devices and CWM-versions with and without sd-card support.
So, what mehtod is best for rooting? universar xoom root or xoot? and if xoot, what are the benefits of converting to an GDE-device? when rooted, i can flash every rom anayway, or am i wrong?
Second Question: When i root via universal xoom root, i'll have the taiamt recovery, right? so this will be the eos/tiamat recovery, which supports sd-cards? and can i use this CWM together with a regular installation of rom manager?
What about the rouge CWM? this one should also have sd-card support, right? can this also be used together with a regular rom manager or not?
The only thing i should avoid is flashing CWM via rom manager, correct?
Sorry for all the noobish questions, but this is quite different from the DHD handling
root via universal root(I prefer it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
yup you will have the tiamat recovery
there are currently tow recoveries supported
1.) Rogue recovery
2.) solarnz recovery
I use the rogue recovery as it gives more options(ex flashing from internal sd card along with external)
but both are awesome
No you cannot use the recovery which comes with Rom Manager...
it does not detect the external sd , yup avoid flashing CWM with Rom manager
Advantages of GED device..
all i can say is that it receives update directly from google and the updates come alot faster
and you will have stock android ie no custom ui's like motoblur or so
thank you for the answer
so the work order will be root via universal root, flash the rouge recovery and flash the custom rom (and if needed flash google apps), correct?
GED isnt needed because aosp roms dont get updates from vendors or google.
Last question: should i install rom manager for nandroid management (if rom manager works with rouge cwm) or should i avoid rom manager at all and do backups directly through recovery?
thanks for the help

Can't flash CyanogenMod onto Wiko Rainbow 4G

Hello,
i just found out that "CyanogenMod" 12 is available for my Wiko Rainbow 4G.
So i did the following steps:
1. Installed "Kingo Root" and rooted my device (worked fine)
2. Installed "Mobileuncle Tools" and installed recovery-cm12.img
3. Rebooted into Recovery Mode and tried to install "cm-12.1-20151223-UNOFFICIAL-rainbow.zip" from sd-card
Now it stopps at about 33 % and tells me that the installation was aborted.
I also tried to do the thing through "SP_Flash_Tools" but it stays stuck at 0 %, i think it doesn't recognize my phone. I successfully installed the Wiko Android USB-Driver, so this should'nt be the issue.
I'm quite frustrated, don't know what to do.
could you please help me?
thanks in advance!
Best regards
Mac
When installing ROMs it's recommended that you use TWRP. Back up your data, flash TWRP, then clear cache and data. After that, install the rom.
TWRP
this doesn't work, i think there's something else wrong.
the look and feel of the recovery-tools didn't change.
did i forget something? it seems that the root worked, but it doesn't install the recovery part.
So i got it working.
But the sad thing is, that there are no custom roms to use with the WIKO Rainbow 4G.
I installed the CyanogenMod, which is supposed to work with the normal Rainbow, but my phone doesn't boot with it.
so i'll reset it to the stock rom.
You probably can. This is XDA Forums man! They actually didn't have Cyan for my LG Leon either, but this forum provided!
Hi I have a Wiko Rainbow 4g wanted to know if the Rom for the Rainbow 3g model are also fine for my or I can put Rom.
Thank you

Cannot flash Custom Rom on SM-N9005 Help please

Hello everyone,
last night I was toying with my Note 3 (SM-N9005) European Edition and I succesfully rooted the phone and installed Super SU.
Super SU was upgraded automatically via TWPR.
Tried to Flash Darkwolf Note7 rom for Note3.
Installation starts, but once it begines I get an error about wrong footer and the progress bar stops.
So I went back, used Odin again, changed from TWRP to CWM tried to flash again the same Rom got verification of zip file failed.
Downloaded RessurectionRom with 6.0.1 for note 3, same issue.
Went back again, changed from CWM to TWRP once more, same issue.
Installation fails
Ultimately had to recover the ROM that I had backed up.
Not sure what the problem is?
Can someone help me?
Thank you in advance.
Read the roms OP a guess is you are using the wrong version of TWRP .
TWRP recovery recommended, 2.8.7.0. Newer versions are not supported
Ι don't think that the issue mate.
I downloaded exactly what I should have according to their site and the tutorial I follow.
Furthermore CWM has a dedicated CWM for note 9005 which again was unable to complete the installation.
So any other thoughts?
This is most likely due to the unsupported version of twrp you are using as darkwolf ported roms uses aroma/pico installer. Use below v3 like 2.8 you should be able to launch aroma installer.
REMEMBER TO FLASH A CUSTOM KERNEL OR IT WILL NOT BOOT ONCE YOU FINISH FLASHING THE DARKWOLF ROM AS DARKWOLF ROMS DONT HAVE ANY KERNEL INCLUDED.
I recommend using SKYNET GENESIS as your custom kernel. You will know how good it is after you install it:laugh:
I highly recommend you not to use note 7 darkwolf rom as your daily driver... features are really good but in actuall fact heats up like mad and drains battery very well
If there's still problems after trying my methods out please let me know i will give a full tutorial on how to install the DARKWOLF ROM on youtube
Cheers!

Hi guys, thank you for your replies.
But to b honest I am a bit of a novice. I just checked some tutorial videos and I though FUN let's sprush up the NOTE 3....
So I do not know how to proceed??
Let's see if I can help you with at least installing a CM12.1 on the n9005. Once you can successfully install CM12.1, you'll have a basic working knowledge of flashing.
Download the latest tar version of TWRP for the n9005 from here: https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxynote3internationalqualcomm.html
Download Odin 3.07 from here: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=...5QWImOPDJboTA_V3D5S9eA&bvm=bv.133178914,d.amc
Download the latest cm12.1 for the n9005 from here and save it to either a micro SD card which you will put into the phone or the phone's internal memory: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte
Download the latest ARM version of gapps for the n9005 from here and save it to either a micro SD card which you will put into the phone or the phone's internal memory: http://opengapps.org/
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time.
Make sure CM12.1 and gapps are either on a micro SD card or the phone's internal memory. If CM12.1 and gapps are on a micro SD card, insert the card into the phone.
Put the phone into download mode, connect the phone to the computer, flash TWRP in the PDA slot. When you see the word "reset" in the status window remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, use the button combination (home, volume up, power) to boot into recovery which should now be TWRP.
Once you are in TWRP, wipe system, data, cache, install CM12.1, install gapps, and reboot.

Lenovo Vibe P1ma40 how to do multiboot?

I have:
Lenovo P1ma40 with last stock ROM (S040_170106_16G_ROW)
Root access
microSD card
stock recovery (but I cat flash TWRP 2.8.7.3)
So, is it possible to install some custom ROMs to sd card, without replacing stock firmware?

Yes, it's possible, but the stuff to do it isn't available for all devices.
Some options are:
1) Safestrap recovery- this tool lets you keep the stock ROM and install custom ROMs inside Safestrap, then when you boot your device, you choose whether you want to boot stock or one of the custom ROMs. This is a dead project though, if you want it to support your device, you'll probably have to build a version of Safestrap for yourself so that it supports your device, then, if there are no custom ROMs available for your device, you'd have to build the custom ROMs for yourself also.
2) if you can flash TWRP and if there is a version of the Multi-ROM custom ROM for your model number, you can use it. Multi-ROM is a ROM that is built to boot different ROMs.

Note 4 after Flashing TWRP bootloop

Hi Guys,
I have a N910F Device , so I have yesterday worked on Rooting the Rom and Install Custom Rom.
I have using a Tutorial from Saarliner Rom Devloper and his Rom N4Rom but after I have flashing TWRP over Odin and get in Odin and erase all and install Rom there were Bootloop.
After I have flashed Remix Rom Project or other Rom ever and ever the Same ever Bootloop
My Question what I have make wrong?
- Download Mode
-TWRP Recover flashing
- Erease all up to Point Micro SD
- Flashing New Rom
Isn´t Correct that?
I knowing from S2/S3/S4/S5
First Root stock Rom then TWRP then Custom Rom or was it right?
1. 910F is known to have an eMMC problem - read about it
2. when you flash an 910F it is advised to do it in a cool environment - no joke, get a fan to blow on it or something - because heat produce the damage from point 1
3. it looks ok what you did, but did you updated to the ROM required BL and Modem ? did you respected all the instructions? why don't you try to talk with the saarliner rom creator/developer?
To 1. isn´t present , because Stock Rom are working fine and without any Reboots or Errors.
To 2. yes it was very hot.
To 3. Yes i did and yes i have read it 2 times, so my Question is when I would like to install a Custom Rom, i must have a rooted Stock then Recovery TWRP flash then Custom Rom isn´t it?
Because the Way from Saarliner look like not complete, i can´t imagen that it work so in the Tutorials. The Developer self has a Broken N4.

Not obligatory to have a rooted stock. After flashing TWRP, you can root it also - my advice is to use Magisk for root.
Also as advice - if saarliner rom is not working, try some other rom. The snapdragon forum has some roms, both touchwiz based and AOSP.
I will try it out.
