I think I bricked my phone - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500F). I downloaded the Marshmallow firmware from SamMobile and flashed it via Odin. Success. However, after using it for a few days, I found a lot of bugs. I tried to download the Lollipop firmware from SamMobile and flashed it again via Odin. After rebooting, it wouldn't go past the "Samsung" boot screen. Tried to reflash the Marshmallow ROM, but still, same problem. I have already tried to factory reset and wipe cache in recovery and reboot again but it still doesn't work.

[Q] Killed my Tab 4 (SM-T230NU)

I was looking to factory reset my Tab 4 7.0 to sell, but since I've rooted it and installed TWRP, the process wasn't as simple as I'd have liked. I tried the standard Factory Reset function of TWRP, but it didn't do anything. I tried Wipe Data, still nothing. Then I did an Advanced Wipe and checked off everything, not realizing one of the options was to wipe /system. Now my Tab 4 keeps rebooting to TWRP, and the recovery also states "No OS is installed".
I'm currently downloading the new NH1 firmware from SamMobile and considering flashing it through Odin 3.09. Would this be the most effective method, considering I had no prior backup made to the tablet? Will this likely remove my root access and custom recovery? Is there a chance of tripping something like a Knox counter and bricking my device (happened once when I tried an old method to root my Note 3, Knox blocked part of the flash and left the system halfway between two OS images)
Sounds like you're on the right track with downloading the firmware off of SamMobile. I had a similar issue with my Galaxy Tab 2 and that got my tablet out of its funk.

At this point I've tried all the ROMs listed on SamMobile for my tablet and all fail to completely flash. Odin says it was fully successful, but when the tablet tries to boot, I only hear half the boot sound and then the boot animation just sits there saying Samsung with the little blue dots popping out of it, and that's it.
Are there any other types of ROMs I can flash to this system? Does it matter what version of Odin I'm using? (Tried 3.06 and 3.09, both unsuccessful)

hi i have a tab 3 7.0. why dont you try using odin 3.07 if that fails try emergency firmware recovery in kies. odin flashing of official firmware does not increase binary counter as stated by sammy tech support. but you flashing twrp does increase binary count. hope i helped.

I have successfully flashed ND9 and N2E firmwares with Odin 3.07. The NH1 firmware is corrupt when I download it. These are the Cellular South versions which I assume are the US firmwares. I did also flash the Canada versions and I couldn't tell them apart. Currently on ND9 firmware so I could get it rooted. I only have the WiFi 230NU.

this question may sound silly but have you tried to wipe data/cache after full odin firmware install?
I believe i was able to keep all my apps and data after full firmware upgrade using odin, so it isnt doing full wipe after all.
.
I rooted and installed TWRP on this device and decided I wanted to get the SM-T330NU instead. I returned the T230 and the clerk tried to factory reset the device and it booted up into TWRP - the clerk made the comment "What in the world" but did not say anything. I had tried to factory reset it before returning and it would not work either.

If you power off the device and then boot up into download mode, connect the usb to your pc and run odin you can flash the factory stock image to the device using odin and that will reset the device to stock. Replacing TWRP with the factory recovery image and everything else. You can download the stock files for the device either by searching these forums or going to sammobile. Try starting with the oldest version available and update from there. I rooted and unrooted the SM-T230NU several times using this method and had no issues. Be patient. Allow the device 5 minutes to boot up after flashing the stock. Make sure the device has 80% charge or better before starting. Leave the device connected to the PC with odin open until you see a message in odin that reads, "passed".

Just install deodexed rom from twrp
I don't think sm-t230's have Knox do they? You didn't kill your tablet just flash a stock ROM from sammobile. And you'll be a-OK

I'm using stock ROM T331XXU1BOG4_T331ODD1BOG4_INU. I did factory reset before flashing 4.4.2 ROM package via Odin. Even with T331XXU1ANDA_T331ODD1AND4_INU (same region), it did not work.

Repeat wipe now in stock recovery
Temorarily stuck with 5.1.1 for now. I will try repey6's suggestion later.
Many thanks.
bump, does 5.1.1 prevent u from downgrading to 4.4.2? the tablet was updated to 5.1.1 by accident, so i want to downgrade.
EDIT: i was able to downgrade just fine. if your hangs at the smasung boot logo for like 5 mins, power off device and clear the partitions/ data.
I don't think u can downgrade from OI1 according to Smart Switch. So i think i had BOG1
Any success on a sm-t337v??
none yet so far, we i had combination files i could try it again but i cant find any or have access to any for 337v

S5 SM-G900F bootloop, nothing worked

Today my father's Galaxy S5 SM-G900F freeze after connecting to PC when I tried to copy some photos to PC. After that it started bootloop. Phone was ALL STOCK, no root, no twrp, no nothing without original latest android 6.01 directly from Samsung.
First thing I tried was wipe cache and factory reset. Nothing changed. Then I tried to download new firmware via Kies3, it took some time, update succesfull but still bootloop. Next I tried to put latest firmware G900FXXS1CPI6_G900FXEO1CPE2_XEO via Odin. Everything fine, succesfull but still no success, bootloop. Then I flash latest twrp on it. Twrp boot fine, I tried wipe, nothing changed. What can I do? Phone is bricked permamently or there is something I can do? TIA for any clue! I've read tons of forums and sites and everywhere told to flash firmware but it not worked for me
update: I also discovered strange thing when I tried to flash via twrp. After few second flashing (blue bar does not go forward) phone reboot itself and stuck on Samsung logo.

I think you must try a repair rom its come multi package boot loader and modem and ap and thetr is the pit file and be sure to get the proper one for your device and try to flash via odin
Thanks but it didn't work for me. I just tried 4 files (BL/AP/CP/CSC) and 5 files (+PIT). Everything success in Odin, recovery back to stock samsung but phone can't boot. Few times restart then stuck on samsung logo. Is any other way to try?

N9005 custom ROM cannot go back to Stock

Hey all,
I hope everyone is well. I'm having some issues with my Note 3 N9005 intl variant.
I am currently running Resurrection Remix Marshmallow (6.0.1) and its pretty stable and is a good daily driver however it has some bugs that I'm not a fan of. I used Odin to re-flash the stock ROM I got from sammobile back on to my Note 3 (N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005BTUGBOJ1_BTU) however every time I flash it, I am stuck on a boot loop. This is also the case if I try to flash another custom ROM using TWRP, so I am not sure what is wrong.
[Edit] I tried to flash the purify kernel for this ROM however this also results in a bootloop. Currently I am on the kernel that came with this rom which is the temasek kernel
[Edit2] I've managed to get to the samsung logo but its been 10+ minutes and I am still on the pulsing samsung logo. I've done a battery pull and I've also done the cache partition delete and factory reset from the recovery menu, however I am still stuck on the pulsing samsung logo.
Thanks guys
Does Odin successfully flash the stock firmware? You confirmed the model # in download mode?

Odin says that the stock firmware has been successfully flashed. As for the download mode it says the following:
Product name: SM-N9005
After flashing a stock ROM, are you booting the phone into recovery and performing a factory reset before flashing the newly-installed stock ROM for the first time?

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean I flash the stock and then boot into recovery and factory reset before the first boot? Or I should flash the stock and then factory reset and then reflash the stock ROM?

Need Help Fixing My J320A

So I suppose this is karma for trying to root the J320A, a device which I was 90% sure wasn't rootable. But now, after flashing a file via Odin, I can't boot past the "Samsung Galaxy" boot screen. I have wiped the system cache, factory reset via the recovery menu, and attempted flashing stock firmware. Though I can't seem to locate any reliable stock firmware. There's none for the SM-J320A on sammobile.com, and the other firmware I've downloaded has given me an error in Odin. Can anyone help? I'm pretty desperate.

If odin gives any root try posting it picture. Also try using modded odin if normal is not working as expected.
