Pink Line on right side - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Does anyone else have an issue with a line of pink almost purple on the right side of the screen? I attached a picture of the issue it isn't my phone but its the same issue.

Does the line show up in screenshots if you view the screenshot on another device? My initial thought is that is a hardware issue but that would be an easy way to check.

Nope the line doesn't show on screenshots. But I'm pretty much royally screwed, because i have a small crack which I know didn't cause the issue, located on the back panel. Which I doubt Samsung will repair under warranty even though its a hardware issue.

[Q] Omnia 7: Black-White Vertical line across the screen??

Hi All,
Does anyone have a vertical line across the screen on the left side of the screen? You may have to use the light theme in order to see it or go into the e-mail application and look carefully.
I am not sure if it was there all along or I have just noticed it. Is this because of the type of screen on the Omnia 7?
If other people have it then this must be because of the AMOLED screen, if not I may need to send mine back for repair. I will appreciate any answers on this.
Thanks
Nothing like that on mine mate - sounds like a fault/defect so i'd probably send it for repair.
Cheers

The first time I saw this was when I installed WP Bench from the market and clicked on 'display' and the choose 'Viewing angle', this is the last option. I can clearly see the vertical black line running across the screen.
Can anyone try this? Thanks.

Just a bright pink screen - no lines or anything odd that i can notice...
Ive noticed some horizontal lines across the screen that suddenly appear when using IE. But a restart fixes it.

On a white screen i sometimes get horizontal lines flickering across. Never really bothered me too much, a soft reset cures it or it goes away after a time.

That wrecks my head :S
A product should never malfunction like that.
Even better of my phone wont charge anymore so its sent of for repair :S
On my one I can distinguish a vertical green line on a white (or something close to white) screen. My guess is that this is because of the PenTile layout of the subpixels. I'd have to check with a mates Galaxy S to know for sure though.

Does this mean my screen is dying? (Screenshot)

The attached screenshot shows two areas circled in red where the screen is having issues. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior on their N4 before? Does this mean my screen is starting to give out and will only get worse here on out?
This is exactly type of question my nanny would ask.
I should answer this like a gentleman
If you can see the defect on a screen shot then it is not a hardware issue. Factory reset should sort it.

red blured dot coming on screen

suddenly from today i noticed a red blured spot on my moto x style screen, which can be seen only on dark background like black and blue. You can see the attched screenshot. is this a problem with my lcd display? my phone is waranty so should i take my phone to service centre for any hardware problem?
Weird... I noticed the same exact thing for the last few days, in the same exact spot. I googled and got to this post.
I'm hoping its a sensor of some sort that can be turned off, but I'm pessimistic.
I chatted with support and they didn't seem to know what it was. Cleared cache, did a reset... didn't fix it. They've left me with send in and get repaired or get a replacement option. Ridiculous.
Um, is this a joke post? You took a screenshot of a hardware issue, screenshots are software. Only you will be able to see that, take a actual photo if you want us to see it. lol
Yeah, I noticed that too lol. However, the dot we are seeing is in the middle bottom half of the screen. Its def hardware related.
I'm currently facing this same issue. It appears 2/3rds from the top of the screen, directly in the center.
Hmm... this is starting to really piss me off. I''m readying myself to send in my device to repair.

Here is a screenshot of the red blurry dot. Nevermind the white dot as it's the light from my webcam...

You guys stock? I wonder if a custom ROM would solve it?
Yeah, I'm stock, unrooted.
I was just told by a chat rep that they are actually aware of this issue and its been escalated to a higher team. Take that for what you will...
I see a blue spot on a black black ground..... thats really weird

I had read online about people reporting blue and red spots on dark backgrounds... but not a whole lot of why or how it was fixed. I mailed my phone to be repaired...

Pink Line

So I dropped my S7 Edge and the glass shattered, there were no issues.Today I pressed a bit hard the screen on the front camera, and the pink line appeared, but it disappeared after a 2-3 seconds, should I be worried that this will reappear?

I have had a friend with this problem and it is a common fault with the early models of the s7
I think you will find if you press down on the top of your phone the pink line will reappear however if not...
You can try this
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/galaxy-s7-edge-pink-line-screen,news-24336.html
many people have had Samsung replace them as they know it's a common fault however I don't think they will replace if it has been smashed... they class that as your own fault.
If I remember right it's a weak solder point on the phone that is easily broken. (Some users have had this without any visible damage to there device and Samsung replaced free)

I don't see that line now, but if I press hard on top of the phone it appears for like 1sec and disappears. So I was just asking should I be worried if this can reappear and never dissappears..Of course with maximum security for the phone..

Weird issue on the screen

This issue appeared after I install (via fastboot) the latest version with the December patch. Basically, what's on the top line of the screen appears on the bottom line. This also happens with LOS 14.1. Has anyone had this problem? What could it be?

It looks like the screen shot doesn't show the full screen. I've just uploaded some photos. Please look at the top and the bottom lines of the screen in such shots.

It doesn't seem to be software or ROM issue,
Still, If you are confused and think it's software issue,
Take screenshot and move it to another device, if it's shown alright in other device, then ROM/software is okay..
For hardware issue,
Display looks good in photo,
may be disassembling and reassembling display can do work, but there is many things inside hardware, can't say..

I did what you've suggested and the screenshot showed up alright in other device. I've just noticed that sometimes the issue disappear. Thanks!
I don't know if there is a connection or it was a coincidence but the issue appeared after I turned the OS of my computer from 32-bit to 64-bit. I'll try to flash the stock rom on another computer.
I've just find out that if I put the brightness in the maximum (or next to that) the issue go away. ?
I am facing the same issue. My Moto g4 plus is running on Android nougat. The top lines appearing on the bottom of the screen (below the navigation bar). I don't think it's a hardware problem because the lines disappear automatically and again reappear after some time. Pls help.
Same issue here....
There's this app on Playstore called Screen Overlays,
I made a white stripe on top of the status bar and one on the navigation bar,
And the issue, which usually is white stripes on black screens is kinda solved,
It will be a temporary solution,
Since the Oreo update will prevent overlaying apps from being active
