Space after punctuation? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Hey guys. My phone will only insert a space after I double tap the space bar. Any other punctuation it will not. All keyboard settings are correct and the same way my s6 was setup. I've restored and reset up as a new phone. The phone is 4 days old, newest firmware, everything updated. Any ideas?

Is it possibly a bad firmware update? But this spacing issue is the only thing. I'm at a loss.

[Q] Says Device Storage is full......

I installed Swype Beta last night before I went to bed last night. When I went to bed last night I had over 8gigs free on the device. This morning when I woke it up, there is a warning at the bottom of the screen that says the device is "Low on space". When going into the settings and looking at the storage settings, it now says that I have 14.83mb of free space left. Any idea what could have caused this? I have uninstalled the Beta of Swype and that has not done anything. I have looked through all the installed apps and there is nothing showing in the list that is that large.
It is running stock at this point. I have gotten the update to push it to 141.07.
Any ideas what this might be? Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Thank you in advance for any input provided.
I believe this has cropped up for a couple of other people as well; the only solution I recall from the top of my head is to do a factory reset, which loses user data so back up what you need to.
One thread suggested checking your tablet for a lot of media files first.
We figured out, that this problem is caused by a really big tombstone. But we still don't know, what created this tombstone...
Edit: If your tablet is rooted, you can search for the file under root:/data/tombstones and just delete it ^^
Had the same issue.. could not install anymore programs on the SD card, reporting it was full. Itried everything. I ended up doing a factory reset. My unit is not rooted.

[Q] Phone log Question

I've searched and searched and search, to no avail! Those of you that had the S3, do you remember in the call log you could slide your selection to the right to make a call or slide your finger to the left to text.....instead of tapping to make the selection? Well it seems on the S4 you can only slide left for text and you have to tap to make a call. Is there any way to change that to slide right to make a call. I really miss that feature.
I can "slide right" from the log and it initiates a call. Same from contacts. Left if for text. I'm still on MDL...maybe something changed in MF9? Did you reboot and try again? Are you stock?
Try placing your fingers on the center of the screen of the contact you want as opposed to on the picture.

Stock rooted MF9....It's been that way since MDL when I bought the phone. It's driving me mad. It will only slide left and not right,no matter where I place my finger. I guess I have a hardware problem and a trip to Sprint is in my future.... Thanks for the input!

Well, they will have you do a full reset before they give you a new phone so you may as well back up your phone and try it before going to Sprint.
And it sounds more like a software problem...not hardware.
Mine works as advertised, slide right call, slide left text. I'm on stock rooted mf9. What mods do you have installed? Something you installed must have broke it. Unfortunately a factory reset won't fix it since factory resets don't touch the system partition which is where the mod would be. If you want to make sure that it is not hardware related, which it can't be or you wouldn't be able to slide right at all in any app, you need to return to stock. The only way to do this properly would be to odin the stock mf9 tar file. Although, for a quick test, you could dirty flash the odexed stock rooted rom in the development section. That would overwrite the modded system files but leave your data in place. Then you would know if it works on your phone without starting from scratch.

I didn't see this earlier.... I went back to Sprint and my hook just swapped out the phone after it received a large dose of electricity!

[Q] G2 upgraded to stock lollipop. data loss and touchscreen issues

I used the LG Suite to upgrade my LG G2 from Kitkat to Lollipop. The whole upgrade process went fine but when I started using it, the touchscreen became unusable. I have to tap on a different area of the screen for every action, and I am using it by taping the whole screen until one of the taps eventually gets me what I want. When I have to unlock the phone, swiping does not work and it registers taps at different spots on the screen when I make the swipe gesture.
The other problem is that the phone is showing only 10.6 GB as the total storage, out of which 8.9GB is available when I connect it to my PC. My phone has 32GB storage and phone's Settings Menu shows that 21.67 GB have been taken by "Misc" data. All of my previous apps and all of the data is gone. I think the upgrade process might have moved it somewhere else and that's why it is still taking space on the internal storage but I can't seem to be able to access it. I want some way to fix both issues.
The phone is unrooted and stock. I am currently using it by connecting a USB mouse. I have attached some screenshots as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will be very thankful if anyone can help me through this problem. Thanks in advance.

Factory Reset on Samsung Galaxy S5

HI guys, this is my first post on this forum, so forgive me if I put this thread in the wrong category. I heard you guys where the best when it came to Android, so I was hoping you could help me with my predicament.
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) and this is my first android phone. I've had for over a year now, I got it sometime in June last year.
I updated my phone to Lollipop 5.0 about 3 months ago, and ever since there's been an aspect of my phone that's been faulty. The Samsung keyboard. My keyboard crashes at least once day, every day and it drives me crazy cause I prefer the default keyboard to the others I've downloaded such as the Google keyboard. It began to crash right after the Lollipop update. It usually crashes whenever I switch to emojis. (especially when I'm in the middle of typing a tweet) It freezes then the message "Samsung keyboard has stopped working" pops up on the screen. During my hunt for a fix, I came across clearing the cache and the data of the keyboard and wiping the phone's cache from the recovery menu. So far they've worked and my keyboard hasn't crashed again... I also came across performing a factory reset, which I read fixes most issues after a software update. It's the idea of performing a factory reset that has brought me here. I have some questions about performing a factory reset and I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give me some answers.
1. What's the best method of performing a factory reset? How is it done?
2. If I perform a factory reset, will the software on my phone be taken back to KitKat 4.4.2? (That was the version my phone shipped with)
3. I know backing up my data is gonna be the first and most important step. Is there an app or software than I can use for that? I was thinking of using Samsung Kies 3. I'd also love to be able to backup my app data, like for example my Asphalt 8 progress and restore it at a later time? Is it possible?
4. These past few days, I've noticed my battery life has been running down faster than usual. Could a factory reset help with that? I read it could help fix that. Although the battery may be weak due to the fact that I've had the phone for over a year now, and I'd consider myself a medium-heavy user; I plan on getting a replacement soon though.
5. Will a factory reset permanently fix the keyboard? (In-case it starts acting up again)
By the way, my phone is not rooted.
Thank you for your time and help. I will be expecting replies. All help, tips & tricks will be fully appreciated.

help! black screen instead of lock screen - nothing works

hi all,
since a day i have an extremely annoying issue with the note3 (sm-9005)
first, when it boots - it takes ca.10 minutes. stuck on the samsung animated logo.
then the black screen appears with the status bar (which i can drag down). normally i should have a lock screen appearing. but it just remains black. and in the status bar i have a message " you can now safely remove sd card" and "tap to enter knox". nothing happens when tapping those two...
can i play back an update from the SD card so that FW renews and i don't have to so factory reset and reinstall everything?
(ps. when connecting phone to a pc it shows no disks inside the phone so that if it still was locked...)
thanks in advance!
What do you mean by an update ???

well same thing as one would do using kies, only somehow without kies. i saw in the recover boot an option "apply update from external storage" and was wondering what file could i use for that?
i have SWC region on my device...
Answer is no via above.
Firmware update is via Kies or Odin .
Alternative is custom rom via custom recovery .

UPD: after some searching i was able to unlock the device through samsung's findmomybile. however, half of the apps are missing, most of the ones which are not missing do not work, etc...
i guess not much left but factory reset. hopefully these are not corrupt internal storage problems.

Did anyone come up with a solution to this other than findmymobile? I have had the same problem with my Note 3, e.g. taking 5-10 mins to load up from power off, the dreaded black screen with the power / wifi / etc icons shown on the top. My Note 3 was password protected as well, meaning I can't get into it even with Kies. I have the latest stock firmware installed.
I hadn't installed any apps to my phone before it died, however I do recall a security update being installed earlier in the day (this looked like an official Android one).
Any ideas? I went along to a Samsung Service Centre for help and they had told me that they had seen at least 5 cases of this on a Note 3 over the last two days.

I did not receive any response from anyone from anywhere. So I tried on myself and started manipulating every corner. I tried bluetooth and I could backup my contacts. It was the first victory.
I restarted into safemode by holding down the Down Volume for about 10 minutes! I wanted to try calling via pc via bluetooth. Just as a blind try. Meanwhile I saw a Knox notofication I had seen before so I just clicked carelessly. Vow!! The Knox Lock Screen was there blinking behind some error messages. I tried my lock pattern but nothing happended. I tried more and more, I was thinking this may corrupt the LCD! because it was blinking and went on off rapidly.
I saw that a counter is reducing. 20 attempts left.. 19 attempt... I worked hard till 4 or 3 then some message popup saying knox may be uninstalled. I said who cares? and went on. finally knox was uninstalled. I continued manipulating other available corners of the Note 3 and after a while I restarted and vow!! It was like back to life!
I came here writing for those who are out there seeking every corner of the web for a liitle bit of information.
I backed up my stuff and did a factory reset. It seems fine now.
I suggest manipulating every possible sequence of events. It will pop up some error and then the answer may rise!
best wishes
in my case i unlocked it with findmymobile, backed up stuff to SD card and did factory reset without much further thinking.
phone works fine until today
