Samsung Galaxy J320FN Rooting - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if there is any way to root the Galaxy SM-J320FN phone (Using the latest Aug 2016 software LMY47.J320FNXXU0APH1 : Patch Level 1 August 2016)
I have tried the TowelRoot, FramaRoot, Iroot, Kingoroot and Kingroot APK's and Windows versions to no avail?
I also tried the process from NeedRom (I cannot link the URL yet) - which caused a Boot Loop which needed the factory reset and ROM to be re-flashed to bring it back to life (Others seem to have had the same issue on tier phones, looking at the comments section!)
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Root Samsung Tab 4 7" SM-T230NU 4.4.2 kernel dated April 2015 help

After much reading and experimenting, I am stumped. I have tried rooting using Odin 3.09 and twrp 2.8.0.1. using various techniques. I can get to where it boots into twrp, but when I try reboot it doesn't give me the root option. I also tried this kazil-tech.weebly.com/ technique of loading a zip version of SuperSU v2.46. The links to the files are all broken and the versions are not given, s I really don't know what is required, but that technique went exactly as described. The only problem is it didn't root the tab. It did take root checker two tries to discover it wasn't rooted. Is my problem that the kernel is too new and all the Odin techniques are not compatible? Is there any other way to get this to work?

SM-N910H 5.1.1 Bootlooping after root

First off thanks to the community for actively helping strangers on the internet. We appreciate it.
Now, I rooted my phone while on 5.0.1 using chainfire's root technique without issue. Then I flashed with Odin Sammobile's 5.1.1 update successfully. However in doing so I lost root.
When I attempt to re-root using the same technique that worked before it goes into a bootloop. So I re-flashed the 5.1.1 update and then flashed TWRP. I granted TWRP the right to install root and the same problem occured. It just continues to loop at the samsung logo.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Just search the forum, there are many thread about the solution here
I've tried searching the forums without any luck. If anyone could link a thread with an answer it would be great. Unfortunately I have about 20 minutes a day to try to get this resolved and I'm on day 4.
Thanks
Chain fire's root file which is made for android 5.0 won't work on android 5.1. To root android 5.1 you will need to flash a root file made for your device of that version. Also note that you must flash only those files that are made for your phone's model number. For example, exynos root file may or may not work on snapdragon.

Xposed framework SM-G530T1?

Just wondering if anyone was successful in installing xposed framework on the metro version of this phone and making it active? I have looked far and wide and after countless soft bricks and restores I admit defeat. As stated in the title my phone is the metro version of the grand prime android 5.1.1. I am running the trap kernel by Shinyside on this phone along with supersu.
I have followed many tutorials on several different versions of this phone and each one has ended in soft bricking the phone. When you search xposed SM-G530T1 it returns nothing but topics about stock firmware and xposed on the 530H. The only version that didn't soft brick is xposedinstaller 3.0 alpha, yet even after granting root privileges and rebooting I am still greeted with The latest version of Xposed is currently not active.
Edit: Solved using Wanams fix for samsung Link below for his steps to fix

Help me Please.
I have been going through this same problem but the other forum doesn't help as much I have the same phone a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530T1 rinning lollipop 5.1.1 the metro version. Um my rom is custom gwiz I think with a trap kernel l.. I had to install that through flash fire app. Because I can't seem to get CWM or TWRP working on my phone... can you let me know exactly what you did starting with rooting your phone to installing xposed ?:crying: :crying: :crying:

Well first I flashed the stock rom with odin waited for the phone to reboot then I set it up just like you would a new phone. Once it was completed I shut it down and put it back into download mode and flashed the trap kernel located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development/kernel-root-root-sm-g530t-5-1-1-t3203476
After that was done waited for the phone to reboot then flashed twrp from the g530h with odin . A forum search of TWRP-SMG530H will lead you to the file.
Once I gained root and flashed the recovery I needed to find out what type of cpu this phone was running so I installed droid info from the playstore. The system info shown ARMv7 so I went to the link in my original post and downloaded XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk but did not install it just yet. First I flashed the framework xposed-v85.1-sdk22-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20160 with twrp. Once it was done I cleared cache and rebooted. It took the phone about seven mins to boot.
Then installed the apk gave it root permissions rebooted and thats it. Also Note that the twrp version used cant make backups because it was not intended for this phone but it will flash whats needed. After many, I and I mean many failed attempts this was the solution to my problem.
Ok
So you don't have a Custom ROM or is trap Kernel a custom rom... I'm still kind of new to this but I will try
Thank You
Thanks it's now working

Have you tried using the SuperSU via twrp ?
I installed android 6.1 via Odin, then twrp via Odin, then ZONIK's PBS and it's SuperSU which zonik provides in his downloads and it's all sorted.

I understand bro. . I am also using j500f.. even i tried all the one-click apps for rooting.. but sadly all failed :silly:
Did u successfully install TWRP on your j500f ? When you install twrp through odin.. one thing you have to remember >> uncheck the auto reboot box << and then click on start... when flashing of recovery is done and odin shows ''PASS'' then disconnect the phone USB > remove battery to make the phone off > insert battery and start the phone in recovery mode by pressing vol up + power + home for few second until to feel a haptic vibration feedback .. after you will be entering the twrp recovery mode
TWRP LINK for android 6.0.1 (j500f) > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651429356503490
TWRP LINK for android 5.1.1 (j500f) > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=56318
If u have successfully installed the twrp then,, download supersu.zip from this link > https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1
Place the supersu.zip file in your internal or external memory,, but remember where u placed it.
now just enter the twrp >> select install and search for the downloaded supersu.zip that u placed in your phone > select it and install by swiping.
THATS IT !!
Pls let me know whether u have rooted your phone or not :good:
I have made a third class video on youtube which I don't like to share, but may be this video will help u if u still haven't rooted your phone. Below is the link of my YouTube video:

Unable to get over RMM: Prenormal issue and flash TWRP - SM-T385 Oreo (8.1.0)

I've been searching for a way to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab A ( 8.0" 4G) SM-T385 for about a week and a half now. Everything I've tried has failed (list below), I've searched and searched on these forums but can't find a successful method. When I try to flash to TWRP I get the "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed", I've tried to remove the RMM state but also unsuccessful. The annoying thing is i can't get past this first hurdle so who knows what other problems I might encounter :S
The error I'm getting:
https://imgur.com/xGVol8J
Tablet Specs:
Galaxy Tab A ( 8.0" 4G)
Model: SM-T385
Version: Oreo (8.1.0) T385DXU3BSD1
My Goal: To Flash TWRP, then install Magisk to root my tablet.
What I've tried (not an exhaustive list but you get the idea):
- Flashing TWRP:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...10-02-2018-t3747564/post75515844#post75515844
- Bypassing RMM state Prenormal
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/how-to-bypass-rmm-prenormal-to-install-t3891193
- I've tried flashing official binary to try and reset RMM state. I was able to sucessfully flash but it did not remove the RMM state Prenormal
- Using third-party apps to root device like Kingoroot
Any help would be very appreciated!
no problem
I have the same device and had no problems flashing twrp with Odin.
It sounds like, from lack of information that you have not unlocked the boot-loader.
If you need help with this step, let me know by replying to this post.
