Reduced bandwidth speeds from at&t.

Is there anyway to boost my download speeds? At&t has INTENTIONALLY turned the bandwidth speeds for downloads to EDGE,while still having HSPA upload speeds. My Arc,naturally,is unlocked, and I intentionally DID NOT give at&t my IMEI number from my mobile.
Do I have to root my mobile? Right now, stock from SE,as I really didn't have to flash my mobile to get rid of crapware, although Sony Ericsson did install enough crapware of their own.
I have an unlimited data plan, and my new billing period is the 24th of the month. Throttled down three days later!! And I'm pissed!!

check your pm
Well, you can't do much as it is caused by the carrier and not the Arc.
But I think I read something about a APN that doesn't get throtteled. I think it was in the at&t SGS II forum of xda.

You should check the frequency of the current carrier that you are using. In some countries (Asia and Europe), the WCDMA/HSPA frequencies are different from the ones in North America.
What is the pm?

My phone is an US Arc,that relies on the at&t SIM.

Will look that up.

Saw the post for the Samsung, but it is LTE. My mobile is only HSPA (3G).

Is net 10,boost cdma or gsm

What networks do these to companies operate on and at what frenquencies?what are has 4G and is it good service.which companies better and what do they charge.how much are there plans.

Does anyone know what net-10 runs on?Is it cdma?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Net 10 piggybacks off of T-mobile and AT&T, so it's GSM.
Boost Mobile piggybacks off of Sprint, so it's CDMA.
Boost Mobile has something called bill shrink, where your monthly bill decreases by $5 after a certain amount of months. The most you can get off is $15 off the bill. Basically Boost has sprint coverage and sprint network speeds.
Net 10 doesn't have 4G or very good web services, only talk and text.
So don't boost offer a $50 a month unlimited everything? If so how many Gigs of web do they give you?and boost is pre-paid service correct?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
They do offer $55 unlimited everything with a soft cap of 2.5 GB on the data. And yes it's prepaid.
Check here: http://www.boostmobile.com/shop/plans/monthly-unlimited/android/
Thanks for that information.I appreciate it. Takecare!!!

Do could I put my T-Mobile sim card in a net-10 phone and get 3,4G service?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
That phone needs to be unlocked and has to be a smartphone.
In your own opinion does net-10 data suck compared to mobile's?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G
I'm not too familiar with Net 10 data plan, but it does not seem to offer unlimited data plans. Instead, Net 10 charges you 1 minute of talk time for each minute that you are online. That's not a very good deal, if you want to use a fair amount of data.
look here: http://www.net10.com/data_svs/price_chart.jsp
Otherwise, go to Boost Mobile which has an "unlimited" data plan.

Unlimited 4G on new T-Mobile data plans

http://www.tmonews.com/2012/08/t-mo...unlimited-data-plan-thats-actually-unlimited/
Great news for T-Mobile customers and people that are interested in switching to T-Mobile. Finally another US carrier other than Sprint that offers truly unlimited data. Thoughts?
Yea i think its good but if they lower the price like boost mobile it think more people would switch...
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
I'm wondering for those of us already on unlimited but 4G capped at 2GB, will this apply to us? :good:
I think so. It said on the up sell information that it suggests the T-Mobile employees sell it because it has way more advantages and is only ten more bucks.

Oops..
That wasn't my plan.. Just wanted users to know of this great offer.. Data plans suck big time in the UK.
I'll contact the Mods and ask them to verify and remove if it's the case..
Thanks Chris..

I can't speak highly enough of giffgaff.. It's just fantastic compared to anything else..
I sound like I work for them but I assure you all that is not the case, I'm just a very happy client..
Thought this would appeal to users who live in the uk on pay-as-you-go..
Can't say its a much used network round here, I live in a nowhere village and the only carrier with decent signal is T-Mobile/Orange and in town you get no signal with that and great with ones like virgin (even in the apparent dead zone of one of our school buildings for everything else)

Wish they were in Ireland. I've heard of them loads..
Maybe I should switch to 3...hmmm..

[Q] N9005 Dual Sim Adapter

Hi All,
I just purchased a dual sim adapter from Magic Sim for my Note 3 N9005.
The problem is, it can only keep one sim active at a time.
My question is, are there any application available in Android ?
It does not fulfill my purpose of having two sim cards active at the same time, My intention is to use one sim for calling and other for only data.
If anyone has any ideas please help me out.

Nope you will need to get the duel sim version or if your with orange or EE in the UK i know they can add a 2nd line to your current contract or you maybe able to set up call divert from one sim to the other :^)

I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as a 4G dual sim model.
At least the Dual SIM models I've seen myself are 3G ONLY...
Certainly if it's exynos there will be no 4G
just FYI
I know I can always forward calls but my purpose of having two active sims doesn't fulfill. My second sim is only a data sim card. I wanted to usr my second sim for data plan. I have seen other Android dual sim phones that give option to choose data plans from a particular sim. I thought it was going to be similar..
Their products website does say it supports 4g and I can use it too but only one sim. So if I switch to my data sim then I can use 4g but my phone calling sim gets switched off.
I was looking for an application that can help me keep both my sim cards active.

The n9009 had 2 sim slots but never seen one myself :^)

Yes, but you can use only one sim at a time.

There are BT units available which allows 3 or 4 sim active, but only supports gsm, if you need 4g, the main usim will go into the phone.

I send a message to their technical support team. They replied as
"Yes you can although you will need to get your phone unlocked first"
Therefore i need to unlock my note 3 SCL22, before buying dual SIM adapter.
