Latest SlimKat on a Galaxy Note 3. When I turn on the screen, after having left my phone on anything but the home screen, right after I swipe unlock, the screen blinks twice. Is this a bug?

every once and a while i will go to wake my phone up via power button and it takes a second and does not show my screen instead it shows gray lines and gaps so i took a screenshot of it thinking it was software but it just showed my unlock screen in the screenshot.
has anyone else had this hardware issue where the screen does not start to the unlock screen visually? next time it happens i will take a picture of it with my other device. also my phone is not rooted.

I've been having screen issues with my phone. First green lines started showing on the screen, I turned auto brightness off, and it fixed the issue. But now when I want to wake my phone, it flashes white, but the screen stays off, and it does this for~3 more clicks, the fourth one turns the screen on though.
I'm on stock by the way. Not rooted.
Figured I'd ask before taking it to Samsung.
So I managed to drop my phone a couple of weeks ago and crack the screen. The screen itself has remained fully functional despite a couple of purple lines down it and progressively worse flickering. It;s gradually started becoming more unresponsive and tonight it seems to have had enough. The stay on screen still display the time and if I press the lock key it will show me my lock screen and my notifications, I can swipe and remove these and if drag them down to read them further.
However, when I actually unlock my phone to go to my home screen, the phone screen goes black - I know the phone has unlocked because I can hear the sound effects when I press apps but everything remains black and I can't get the screen to come alive again until I lock the phone. If I double tap the home button, it will quick launch my camera and that works. So essentially the screen still works but won't show me my home screen or any apps (apart from camera), it's essentially blacked out until I lock it again.
I'm getting it repaired but am not able to do so for a few days. Any ideas how I can bring the screen back to life when I unlock the phone? I tried restarting a few times, leaving it turned off for a while and emergency mode - none of which worked.
My phone's display as of 3 or so weeks ago has stopped working correctly. It only displays colorful flashes if I press the power button, or just a black screen. I can feel the phones vibrations and unlock it, it still gets notifications as well when it's on. How do I fix this problem?
Galaxy S5 G900F klte with LineageOS/eOS (Android 11) TWRP and Magisk Root.
The Screen works fine after booting the device. But:
- after the Screen Time out starts - the screen stays black (sometimes flickers a bit when pushing power button)
- also if i manual turn off the screen with i.e. pushing the power button - the screen stays black (sometimes flickers a bit when pushing power button)
Rebooting or taking battery out and back in doesn't help most of the time to get the screen back - and after the first screen time out / turning off screen manually it stays black anyway.
So at the moment I can only use the phone at home with my laptop (with scrcpy ).
I don't think it is a Hardware problem because when I boot into TWRP the screen works fine - for testing purposes i stayed for 2 days in TWRP and the screen came always back to life after every screen time out during the whole time.
Also the touch still works even if the display is black - when i see the screen on scrcpy i can see it functions normal when i touch around on the display.
I also noticed that the screen comes often back alive when i first start scrcpy with the --turn-screen-off flag and then push the home button 1 or more times on the phone)
Any suggestions how to fix that?
Is there maybe a graphics driver i could disable/change/switch in the development options?
Screen flickering. Hardware issue with the S5
