Cant use MTP after root - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

After rooting my edge all I see under the notifications is charging when plugged into my pc? If I click it it does not give me an option to switch to mtp. It doesn't do anything?
Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks,

You have to go into developer options and switch it over to Mtp after you root

MTP not working with USB Debugging

As the title says, I can't connect my N6P to my computer while USB debugging is on. Also, for some reason, it DOES work when the phone is in recovery mode, but I don't want to reboot in recovery every time. Anyone know how to fix this?

problem with USB MTP mode

Hi,
Redmi 3s, MIUI 8 Global 6.11.3
bootloader unlocked, rooted, TWRP recovery
developer options - USB configuration - MTP selected
now, every time I connect my phone to (any) PC by USB, a notification pops up "USB charging only" for a few seconds. If I catch it, tap it, and select MTP, everything works as planned.
when I toggle the USB configuration in developer options between charging only and MTP, the next time I USB connect the phone, it will connect in MTP mode. But only once. Unplug the USB, replug, and I am back at the "USB charging only" popup. MTP is still selected in developer options.
Obviously, I must be missing some related setting to make, or this issue would affect a lot more users.... Does anybody have an idea how to make MTP the permanent default when connecting USB?
thanks
tdklaus
I'm facing the same issue!
May be, any Xposed Mod fix it, anybody know?

The issue persists after switching to xiaomi.eu 8.0.10 stable. Now the "USB charging only" at least stays in the list of notifications and can be tapped there even if I miss it in the first few seconds. Still annoying, though....

Help Screen Broken, Need To Enable MTP Mode

I just dropped my phone and the screen no longer works but the phone does. I plugged it into my computer but I remember that when I have done that in the past I had to change it from charging mode to MTP mode using the screen. Is there anyway to change the phone to MTP mode without using the screen so I can get my files off of the phone?
Thanks
Was USB debugging enabled before? and if yes have you authorized your computer for the phone before?

Hi, i tried to replace the screen and broke the new screen. I need your help. If i connect a keyboard by OTG does Windows+N enter to settings menu? How could i do with a external keyboard to 1st> get to Build NUmber to Enable Developer Option. 2nd> Open Developer Options and Enable USB Debugging? How many times should i press down arrow + enter + etc + etc... Please help me!

Select Usb Configuration.

All the time it goes back to "charging". Isn't there a way to get it to MTP permanently?
When i am on TWRP is MTP enabled?

You need to activate the developer options there you find the option to configure that default behavior.

Don't work
Here on OOS 5 I just tried it, switched it in dev options from charging to MTP, connected to my PC and it came up with MTP.
Yes it works for the 1st time. If i try it again, it goes back to charging.. This is very dangerous if i try to install a custom rom which requires format data.. I couldn't transfer files via TWRP. Can someone help?

But this affects only the handling when booted into the OS. Twrp has its own handling... Perhaps you mean to enable USB debugging?
So you mean that when i enter TWRP, MTP auto-enabled? If yes, this is just fine.

Try it, I could access an OTG USB device from TWRP without problems regardless of that setting. You just have to mount it.

Works only the first time, then at the second attempt you get "recharge"
Yes i checked it. On TWRP the MPT is auto-enabled.
