Lockscreen Replacement with Fingerprint + Custom Widget? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hi. I recently switched to the Axon 7 from an Xperia Z3. On my old phone, I used the ACDisplay LockScreen with a custom widget I developed myself that displayed custom unique information.
However, with the Axon 7, I am unable to use ACDisplay, as it does not function correctly when a passcode is enabled. Microsoft's Next Lockscreen, on the other hand, fully supports my fingerprint, but doesn't allow for a custom Widget.
Is there any way I can get both of these? If the Axon 7 had the stock lockscreen, I could use an Xposed Module. But unfortunately I'm left to use one of the many custom lockscreens, none of which seem to support both fingerprint security and custom widgets.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Out of the handful I tested, Next Lockscreen was the only one that worked properly with the fingerprint reader. Someone else may find one out there, though.

[Q] Removing lockscreen camera

As a matter of preference, I set the DPI of my nexus 7 to 320, by changing buildprop ro.sf.lcd_density. This sets all applications to run in an enlarged cell phone mode. I love the way everything looks, and while I know most people wouldn't agree, it's perfect for me. However, doing this added the camera to the lockscreen as well, and I can't get rid of it. I'm running Lockscreen Policy, which allows me to remove widgets, but because the device is a Nexus 7, it won't allow me to disable the lockscreen camera (probably because it's not supposed to be there).
An interesting problem, with hopefully a simple solution. Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the help this community has already given me.
fyi, I am using stock rooted 4.2.1, stock kernel. I'd really like to be able to revert the lockscreen back to the way it was in 4.1, but I don't see that happening without flashing a ROM, which I don't want to do.

"Knock On" in Custom Roms

Hello everyone. I have flashed the stable CM 10.2 rom that was just released today on my LG G2 [D802].
One of the main feature of G2 that i loved was the "Knock On" for locking and unlocking the screen.
In this Cyanogenmod double tap to unlock works but double tap on homescreen/status bar does not lock the phone.
Anyone out there know how to fix this?
Another thing is how do i get to use the IR Blaster as my TV Remote? Where can i find a compatible software like the one that was provided by LG.
Thank You

Unfortunately, for the time being, only knock-on works in AOSP roms. This is a result of the difference in implementation between the knock-on and knock-off features; namely, knock-on is a kernel-level feature while knock-off is an OS-level feature. As a workaround, people have been either using custom gestures available in Nova Launcher or adding a toggle to the quick settings menu.
For the IR Blaster, you should be able to find everything you need here.
Thanks! Appreciate the help.
Screen off and lock app will turn the screen off with a swipe up. That's what I've been using on the PA KiTKat Rom.

Replace stock lockscreen

Hi everyone,
As you probably know, the Huawei lockscreen is really bad and outdated as notifications are not even "usable" like others lockscreen.
So i wanted to replace it by Next Lockscreen and everything worked well, except with the fingerprint scanner.
When i enable fingerprint, i can't disable the stock lockscreen anymore (sadly) so i have to unlock twice if i use the pin code and that's really annoying.
Do you have any tips to counter this effect ?
thanks all

Fingerprint reader to unlock & display notifications

I'm on the latest RR, 5.3.8. Finger print function works, but there's no addition settings available to do other things once the phone is unlocked (gravitybox added some additional functionality, but no xposed in 7).
I've tried several apps that let you configure additional functions to the finger print once unlocked. The entry i'm using is 'toggle notifications'. This works, but seems to add significant lag when unlocking the phone, requiring at least 2 taps to unlock.
Any thoughts or suggestions for achieving this? Ideally it'd be nice to do a slow double tap - first to unlock, second to toggle the notification without having to move my finger from the back to the front.
hello try to download the NExt lockscreen in Play store..work wonders for me...
Is this app similar to widget locker from years past?
I don't know if I want a full blown lock screen replacement. When I did have widgetlocker instsalled, i used the same apps as were on the home screen. Layout was very similar. Really all I want to do is use the fingerprint reader as another button. It's far more convenient to tap it once unlocked than to move fingers to the front of the phone to swipe the status bar down.

Is it possible to use the fingerprint sensor to open certain apps (eg Xposed Modul)?

Hello,
A friend of mine is using the Honor 5X and he can set special actions according to the finger he is using to unlock his phone by using the fingerprint sensor.
Does anyone know about a Xposed Modul or Magisk Modul or anything similar which allows me to "program" different fingerprints?
I am running xXx - No Limits based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Thanks,

I finally got xposed working after hours of trying and flashing other roms (now LineageOS 15.1) and installed gravitybox. But that isn't what I was looking for. I can set only one action to the fingerprint sensor not for each fingerprint one action.
But I found the option to add apps to the lockscreen. It's not as fast as unlocking the phone via fingerprint and tapping on the apps on my homescreen but it's faster when being on the lockscreen (e.g. notifications)
Still thanks for your answer
