Can you use any sort of Xposed modules on Nougat? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wonder because if I could use some of the modules that would be great, if not I will have to wait for Xposed for 7.0 to come out but that's fine with me.

xposed wont work for 7.0 as of today.

That means no upgrade for me.
Not upgrading until Xposed works.

I'm thinking the same thing. I really like the YouTube no ads and gravity box modules.

Probably will be waiting a while.

You don't need xposed for no ad youtube. To be realistic, I think development for xposed has stopped. There are alternatives. I thought I couldn't do without xposed.

What alternative is there for Xposed? Or do you mean alternative for YouTube ad free?

YouTube ad free. There are also alternatives to other xposed modules. Depends on what you want. I used gravity box, xblast tools, fast scrolling, screen off, xui mod to mention a few. Mostly visual tweaks. Some can be found, others no. Just have to move on.

I'd be interested in gravity box alternative if you know of one.

No, downgrade to MM.

No xposed on N for some time, see https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/230
But you can probably submit code

People should be patient. I have no issue staying on MM.

Multi-Window in the works!!???

Hey all,
Saw this post on Reddit. This would awesome and make the N6/9 experience that much better....If its true of course. Thoughts?
http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus6/comments/2mqcpl/regarding_multiwindow_feature_for_the_nexus_6/
i believe you can use the xposed module multiwindow feature if you root your device.
There's no xposed on lollipop. It doesnt work with art.

I used this module on my N7 back on Kitkat and it didn't work very well. Most of the apps I tried crashed right away. Hope a native solution works better.
Yeah, it's pretty much inevitable that Google would implement this feature in the near future, given the size of their Nexus 6 phablet, in addition to all of their Nexus tablets. They can't let Samsung have all the glory.
Does anyone else think people are laughing at you everytime they type LOLlipop?

It just changes icons.....all the other features don't work well with the latest Google search app.......may as well use Nova with swipe up to Google gesture for the same thing you would've had with XGELS and Google launcher.

Xposed Modules compatible with s7 edge

Just wondering if someone can post a list of working modules and what they do

Can we expect that all xposed modules that work with the exynos version will also work for qualcomm? That thread seems to mention only exynos.

I can't say for sure regarding exynos vs qualcomm. But all recommended modules from that thread have worked great for me. Mainly gravity box, xtouchwiz, x notifications, and a few others.
The notification panel settings seem to play very nice with good lock installed as well. Almost a full aosp feel in that area.

Sure thing! And just in case you don't already know. Good lock can be found in the Galaxy app store.

Xposed?

So I'm thinking about getting a S8/S8+ but Xposed plays a important role for me. Is Xposed available if not can we expect it? And how long would we have to wait for it?
I'm waiting for Xposed as well. Had it from the beginning with S7.
However, I'm not waiting for it to be available on the S8 - got the phone regardless.
Will "root" once Xposed is available, otherwise I'm happy with no root for the time being.
Don't waste time waiting. Get the phone now and enjoy it while waiting for Xposed

Its not issue of s8. Its nougat. Xposed not ready for nougat.

I'm sure the S8 is great but honestly can't imagine using a device without Xposed! I really need to have it. I guess I'll stick with my Note 7 till it's ready for nougat. I mean no harm in waiting since it's going to get cheaper anyways.
What is it that requires Xposed that you can't live without?
For me, "Flat Style Bar Indicators" is about thing only thing that I truly miss!
App Settings
ChromePie
Custom Text
YouTube AdAway
especially without App Settings I couldn't live.

All of that can be done with mods. Xposed isn't necessary if they are things you never change. Flashing/installing mods is also much better on battery life as they don't require xposed running in the background

How? for example changing dpi per app and forcing to be immersive/fullscreen? Or blocking ads in the yt app? or enabling chrome pie controls?

I've yet to find a solution for most of these, but "tasker" and "autotools" combined can give you global emersive mode or per app emersive mode.
(I've got my web browser running emersive and I've got bixby button mapped to global emersive toggle)
Check out "adhell" to block "some" ads and join the beta program for a non rooted Samsung "substratum"
LMT gives you global pie controls.
The rest is a no go as far as I know.
The title of this thread reminds me of YouTube. Okay have a nice day. ?

Has anyone changed the "device name" in order to enable ArCore or RCS?

It seems, from what I've read online, that we *could* change the device name in the build.prop to Pixel 3 or something to enable ArCore and/or RCS.
Has anyone done that?
Have you, then, successfully used ArCore and/or RCS?
Is it worth doing?
Thanks ahead of time!
Well, i tried the magisk zip for arcore on my f800l. They would get stuck at the loading screen and would move from there.
Hmm, that's a shame. I was thinking about trying that mod.

Thanks, all!

Does switching the phone's "fingerprint" to Pixel 2 mess anything up?
What have you successfully been able to use the arcore to do?
Thanks!
