diagnostics.client.wakelock draining battery - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

using WLD this comes up as the #1 battery drain.
This is after a pretty recent HARD reset on the phone. (clear phone)
Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks!

Why does it not surprise me that spyware could be the cause of the battery problems.

Settings----> Device Information -----> Call Durtion
If You talking about this Guys.... but probably not.....
Salute.
(All) Settings > System > Device Information > Call Duration
As far as I know, the timer can't be reset without some advanced editing that's way beyond the average user (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314262)

Stefan,
1:05 HR != 0:00 HR.
As long as a phone even gets a second of talk time on it, it's not "new" anymore. Look up the dictionary on what "new" means.
Cheers.

I will reset the lifetimer with/or without you...And yes with 1:15min it is still new
what your doing is fraud.
You keep saying you will do it without us, please get the **** off XDA then do it, the mods won't take this lightly.

Why exactly do you want to reset it so badly?
If you say 1:15min is still new..... then you shouldn't have to change anything - right? Afterall... it's new.
I personally don't know if it is illegal or not, but I think people here feel your intentions might be a bit.... well.... a bit "suspicious" and they feel they might be helping out a scammer.
I think resetting it would be useful in terms of keeping track of how much time you spend on the phone (for example every month). On my other non windows phones, I could always reset the call duration times (with use of a password). But here, it seems you need third-party software to keep track of usage time every month.
So, again.... why exactly do you want to reset that? You said it yourself... it's still new!

Guys,
Quoted for truth.
You're up to no good, my nostrils are already tingling! I hope the mods do something about it before you try and tell someone, hey bud, buy this from me cause it's new.

Checking "awake time" with CM7

Is there some way to check phone awake time with CM7?
I'm in settings -> about phone -> status but there's only uptime, no awake time.

I'm happy with Cyanogen(mod) at the moment. I tried Evils HD and it was a really nice ROM. I just do not like all the bloat that comes with Sense. I think i'm going to flash a font or something. Sony Sketch is calling mai name.
I'm also looking for the awake time.. Any answer to this? I only see 'time since boot' in spare parts and 'uptime' in options => status. I want to see a number that shows how long my device has been awake and not charts and graphs.

[Q] 4.3 Ported ROM discussion (Can't post in DEV, still rookie)

Hello,
Has anyone experienced the battery drain with the 4.3 ported firmware? - If yes, have you tried using a different Kernel? Which one?
thanks in advance!

Yes its been experienced by many. See here, here, and here
Use the search function once your within the thread with keywords "battery drain", "different kernel", "kernel", etc.
Most of the time your question has already been asked and answered by many. Take advantage of google and XDA search

Yes I did, but somehow it didn't actually help me. I mean, I saw many ppl complaining about the battery drain, thought no one talked about mounting different kernels and such... So that's why I was looking for opinions around
Maybe they will release the firmware soon, so that all this c r a p will be fixed

Possible to enable Battery Saver by Default?

Is there any way to have battery saver stay on? It turns off when charging and by the time I remember to turn it on again I've lost a ton of juice. My M8 it was always on. I'm on latest Leedroid. Thanks.
It isn't possible to do that in Lollipop and newer version of Android.

it's possible on a custom ROM.
I will need to work with you in PM for a few tests as I am not sure exactly which edit fixed it but I have a good idea.

Not complex and the tests won't hurt anything.
Actually easier to post the tests here than PM.
This edits the system/customize/ACC/default.xml for Verizon from LeeDrOiD latest ROM

Note that if you don't want to edit \system, you can mount the edited default.xml via Magisk. Works for me.
Works, holds through charge cycle and reboot. You Da man. I tried editing default.xml before I asked with no luck. Thanks alot.

EMUI 5 drains my battery quicker

Ever since I upgrade from EMUI 4 to EMUI 5 the battery life sucks ... 4 was way much better . Personally, if I knew what I know now about this phone I would of never bought it . I don't believe I will ever again own anything from Huawei simply because of there lack in support
Where are you from? I am in india on FRD-L022c675b310 and experiencing the same. Honor customer care told me go to a service centre which I know is of no use. I even did a reset and the result is not much better. It sucks 3-4% per hour even when not in use.
The bloody update is not letting the system go into deep sleep. Chk the screenshot. The core with 1018 mhz is never going to sleep at all.
Honor has really done a blunder here and they are not ready to accept or rectify it in india atleast.

You guys that are having battery issues.
Factory reset your phone's and give it 5/6 days for the phone to Learn your usage habits.
My battery was not good when I first updated my phone but now I'm getting a good day with 30%-40% left.
I think that's plenty good enough.
How much better are you wanting ??

I really do think that I'm right on this one
I have never had a smart phone that runs so many apps last as long as the battery does on this one.
I do know that a factory reset really helps and that the phone need time for
1: the phone to learn your usage habits.
2: for the ROM to settle.
We do need to be patient and not keep trying to update via FF it the Charles method.
Where is this firmware finder located on the phone setting ? Or is it an app you downloaded, thx
