Hello , I'm seriously in need of your help. I bought this samsung galaxy s4 (gt-19500) just yesterday. it was running on android version 5.0.1, unrooted. i was able to root with kingo root pc. i then tried to replace the the kingo superuser with supersu by downloading android terminal and running the commands ( su, sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh). after that i was prompted to update supersu binaries. it took like 10 minutes but still couldn't update so i restarted my phone. the phone got into boot loop. I've tried updating firmware with both kies and kies 3 but they tell me to check device model after ive input it correctly ( GT-19500 or SHC-1545). Ive tried using odin but still to no avail. i downloaded twrp recovery for gt 19500 from galaxys4root.com. when i select the .tar file , odin hungs and never responds again. ive downloadd other cmw files from other websites but whenever i try flashing them with odin it fails by saying "fail (auth). ive tried abd sideload and i get "e: signature verification failed..). i tried and s4 lolipop rom on xda forumss but while flashing with odin , it fails and my phone displays "unsupported device type". please help me . i bought phone just yesterday. I'm now stock recovery.

I am not very conversant with these issues. I followed the instructions on how to install TWRP Recovery on Samsung Galaxy s4 i9505. Everything went well and Odin reported "Pass", my phone rebooted, but TWRP was not installed on my phone. I had tried to root the phone using Odin and to install Kitkat; the root was successful, but Kitkat was not installed! My phone is Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 build ..XXUBMEA. It appears that there is something preventing new firmware or recovery from installing. Please help.
Hi, I own a S4 I9505 ,and updated it to 4.4.2 and rooted it. but SuperSu showed binary problem, so From sammobile i downloaded, the Stock firmware version of my s4 which is at 4.3. when i tried to flash it with odin3 v3.04, it failed, and now my device is bricked and shows "connect to samsung kies to recover" , i tried connecting but kies doesnt recognize the device, i tried installing drivers as well, but no luck at all. What should i do, Please Help. Thank You (This is my first post )

solved it. Just flashed CWM with odin. and its back. lol

I flashed the Lollipop 5.0.1 CHN firmware and rooted the phone to install the Google apps, then when the India Firmware came i tried to flash that via Odin, it failed. and bricked the phone, could get into download mode but all firmware i've tried fails.
i tried numerous thing to a point where i can now only get CWM- recovery or TWRP open recovery on the phone, and then it allows me to get back into download mode with swver A3, but Odin still fails almost immediately.
help would be much appreciated

So this means you can into Download Mode which is quite a good thing.
Now what you do is download the particular Kies for S4 from the OEM site and connect it when your phone is in Download or that wierd Yellow Triangle with the sign to connect to PC, and then kies will try to save ur phone.

Odin completed success fully, but now phone just hangs just after it askes to select the OS language ps. i used the lollipop india rom with the pit in the mentioned post
install a custom recovery using odin like philztouch and do a full wipe to install new rom
will i need a new PIT file?, after full wipe just Odin and lollipop 5.0.1 as normal?

I recently upgraded my Phone to Lollipop Version 5.0.1 using Odin V_3.09 and using I9500XXUHOA7_I9500SERHOA7_I9500XXUHOA7_HOME.tar.
After successful installation and upgradation of my device I tried to Root my Mobile by installing philz_touch_6.12.8-i9500.tar. This also went successful and I downloaded the lastest SuperSU app from GooglePlay and as instructed tried to update binary using Normal mode.
The operation failed and it gave me an error that the Binary Update could not be completed. I tried to restart the phone but now its not starting and gets hanged and doesnt move ahead of the samsung logo displayed at the begining of startup.
I tried auto-recovery, wipe Cache etc. but nothing seems working and the device doesn't boot up at all.
Device Details:
Model Number - GT-I9500
Android Version - 5.0.1
Baseband Version - I9500XXUH0A7
Kernel Version- 3.4.5-3943544
Please help.

My gf forgot her unlock pattern and her backup password on her N9005. I tried doing firmware install through ODIN but it failed and now the phone is displaying "firmware upgrade encountered an issue". I downloaded the firmware form Sammobile and tried flashing it several times, but no success. Phone enters download mode only, i am unable to get into recovery.
The GALAXY Note 3 LTE (SM-N9005) firmware is the one i tried flashing but i also noticed that there's a SM-N9005 (GALAXY NOTE3) so, i'm downloading that one to try (seems like the same though). Was wondering if that could be the problem why it keeps failing in ODIN?
Can you guys enlighten me or assist me in getting the device back up and running please. Many thanks in advance.
update guys: progress
I ODIN-ed TWRP to the device so now i have access to files and can install root, then flash a custom rom to get the device up and running again. I will try an official firmware flash through ODIN when i get the device up again.
