I have that firmwarre but im not sure which is the updated version. i assume its our version based on build number
but here's the build slayd1023 has

H comes after G in the alphabet so the H version is most likely the newest version.

Pretty sure that's not how the update conventions are read
N930AUC S1APH1
N930AUC U1APGC
I think based on the starting U1AP vs the S1AP actually determines which build is more current.
Case in point (for instance)
The T-Mobile Gear S2 Firmware:
R730TUVU1AOJ7_R730TTMB1AOJ7_USA T-Mobile Full FLash Firmware (original)
R730TUVU2BPC6_R730TTMB2BPC6_USA T-Mobile_4File Firmware (update)

When you look at the image OP posted it states July. The one I posted about states August.
Therefore:
N930AUC U1APGC (original)
N930AUC S1APH1 (update)

So I am wondering, did anyone else power on their phones out of the box and bypass all of the setup process to check firmware versions before inserting sim or connecting to a network?
Is it possible I have one of the earliest revisions of this phone compared to others?
I am mainly curious now because of this whole battery failure fiasco. I really do not want to wait to get a replacement and not be able to root due to an update.

this just appeared on a google search, wasn't out there(or indexed) previously.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Source Code

Even though Samsung hasn't released their stretched out Galaxy Note, they have released the firmware for their SHW-M480K/SHW-M480S through the Samsung Open Source Website. International 3G version: GT-N8000
International Wifi version: GT-N8010
USA Wifi version (Adds IR blaster, no other known differences): GT-N8013
There's a good chance the SHW-M480W has some differences from the N8010/N8013 - For example, most Korean devices have DMB receivers.
Right now, there is not much released for the wifi variants, as the international 3G version (N8000) was released more than a week earlier than the wifi version - N8013 didn't become available until last Thursday.

I have a SHW-M480W and I just downloaded the zip file of the JB update through your link.
Do you know how to install it?
Is it even possible as I read many tutorials involving Odin with code/modem/csc/.pit but they doesn't seem to apply here... (the zip contains Kernel.tar.gz and Platform.tar.gz files)

You are completely missing the point of those files. They are source code, not install images.

Region Firmware Question

I'm trying to update my SM-P605 Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE to P605XXUBMJ9 and I am so confused by the manual process. I can't do OTA because I rooted and when I go to a ROM download site there are all these regions and carriers mentioned. I'm worried about bricking my device or carrier locking it to a company thousands of miles away. Can you help? Sorry for being so dumb but I've never bought a device outside of a store where they set everything up for you.
Current specs:
Android 4.3
P605XXUBMJ4 Baseband
3.4.0-1927787 [email protected] #1 Kernel
JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6 Build number
Enforcing SEPF_SM-P605_4.3_0002 SELinux status
I'm currently in the USA, using T-Mobile, and I was told by Amazon that the device is unlocked.

Being that its a ZS build it looks like its from China.
I would only flash P605ZS***** Builds if you are worried about locking it by mistake.
FYI: The first two digits after the model number are the region

Thank you a million times. I feel like such an idiot :S Do you know if there's an upgrade to MJ9 yet in the China region? Do I need to take any extra precautions to ensure it stays carrier unlocked and usable in the United States.

My understanding is the partition that holds the carrier info / locking info is not touched during a flash with Odin. HOWEVER, I never got into that unlocked device thing because I never had a need to.
Someone else may be better suited to the question than I but as long as you flash ZS based firmwares you should be fine as I did not see a carrier listed for that tablet in China so they may all be unlocked.
Actually, I only think the Verizon one is going to be the locked one but I dont know.

You are very helpful in my quest to not ruin an expensive tablet. Do you know if there's an upgrade compatible with ZS for the MJ9 update? I honestly don't mind waiting if there's a chance I'll turn it into a paper weight. Not even a Kit Kat build just some bug fixes from what I understand.
Again, thanks for your help.
I just don't understand all the carrier builds of MJ9. Bloody heck some of em even have custom names which would be a good sign it's specific to region/carrier. So confused by this all
So maybe unroot your device and then you will have an Ota Update... Because if you'll use Odin for flash other firmware you won't be rooted yet, i think.

Aren't OTA updates issued by providers? T-Mobile doesn't support this device so there's not going to be an MJ9 update. Ever. It's using an LTE frequency not even found in the States. I just bought it online because I didn't want to wait for somebody here to give me support. I'm simply trying to do a manual update without my device being a paperweight or waking up to expect a connection from cellular towers in Asia.

only Differences is Software.. Due to laws in the us being Different in different regions of the world They use model numbers to Determine which region the device is for. The link posted above Shows they can Run the SAME Software so should tell THEY ARE The same Hardware wise.
With the above said. It seems the 8013 us version has a newer boot loader...

Doesn't seem like it's updatable at this point in time.
Reached out to ZTE: No updates available. If there were to be it would be through bell/Virgin as it's specific build/firmware/model.
Reached out to Virgin, bell and PC mobile as well. If something interesting comes from it I will surely post.

Cool, thanks man.
Btw, is the Bell/Virgin model rootable? So we can put custom rom on it? Would it be the same roms other models would use?
I know tdm is working on one atm (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7-mini/development/recovery-twrp-7-1-unofficial-t3685339)

I don't think this version has NFC. There is no mention of it anywhere.
https://www.ztedevices.ca/axon-cat/axon7mini.html
USA version does mention it.
https://www.zteusa.com/axon7mini/
I got the Axon 7 mini from PC Mobile as well. Looks like the Canadian mini is a variant P852A15H, without NFC.
Any idea how to get rid of the carrier name at the top right? SytemUI tuner doesn't seem to activate either.
The mini is really sleek and light! Haven't had the battery issues mentioned in reviews either. Wish we could update to N though.
For what it's worth, there may be some activity behind the scenes for a minor update to the Canadian Axon 7 Mini late this month.
If this individual is to be believed, it will be bug fixes and security patches ONLY. That is, it will NOT be an upgrade to Nougat; we'll still be stuck on Marshmallow. But at least we'd end up with a security patch newer than late-2016.

Confirmed. 105.67 MB download, the device stays on Marshmallow. It brings the device from the November 1, 2016 security patch to February 5, 2018.
This is the first OTA ever released for the Canadian variant. It would include fixes for some pretty high-profile vulnerabilities, such as Blueborne, Krack, and Spectre, so it's definitely welcome.

good luck with that
The Canada-specific version of the Axon 7 Mini was not sold on the open market, but rather was sold as a bundle through one of Bell Canada's affiliates. (I am aware of it being sold through Virgin Mobile and PC Mobile.) As such, it is running a customized OS that was approved by Bell Canada. The Bell Canada-specific OS has always been visually distinct from the version of the OS that shipped on open-market versions of the Axon 7 Mini; in my opinion it appears quite a bit more similar to the vanilla Android experience, with the exception of the preinstalled Bell account management apps.
Unfortunately, because the phone was bundled through Bell Canada, that means that ZTE will also be obliged to get Bell Canada's approval of any OS updates that may be offered for the phone. We've already seen, with the patch that was released earlier this year, that the OS update path being approved by Bell Canada is following a very different track from what ZTE has been offering on the open market, and I don't expect to see that change any time soon.
And it really doen't matter if ZTE's engineering department is technically capable of offering Nougat or newer for this device. They'd still have to get it cleared by Bell Canada first before they could distribute it.

Installing NON-AT&T FW on SM-J320A... Possible?

I have the SM-J320A, AT&T version, and now being used outside the USA. Specs on GSMArena indicate that this phone is one of the versions of the J3 2016 family: J320FN (Europe); J320F (EMEA); J320F/DD (India); J320A (AT&T); J320P (Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Boost); Galaxy Amp Prime (Cricket); Galaxy J3 V (Verizon); J320M (LATAM); J320G (Asia).
1. So does this mean all these versions are identical in Hardware?
If there is no other option, I will install the AT&T newest version, however I would prefer to see if it's possible to use a non-AT&T FW so I can get monthly updates. So...
2. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to put a NON-AT&T 'open' version stock FW on the SM-J320A... and I would then be able to receive the security updates direct from Samsung...
Hope what I am asking is clear.
Robert
The j320 model has three different soc. The j320a is exynos based. The different exynos models are J320a, j320ag, j320az & j320w8.
But with this device only the carriers supply updates, unfortunately.
Not sure if it's an option, but I activated an att sim for their prepaid service (25¢ per minute or something)... Will never use the $10 I spent for the service, but I can update ota now.
Other than that keep your eyes here, we try to keep the latest firmwares available for download.

That's the best answer I've had on a forum... That makes it clear. So since I cannot really do what I was asking, no problem, I am willing to install the AT&T 7.1.1 version J320AUCU2AQI5. Only issue now is that as said, the phone is in use outside the US currently so cannot get the OTA DL. Is there any way or source to DL the full stock firmware for flash via Odin? Would prefer fully stock version with no rooting, etc.... I have a Macbook Pro for the flashing if it makes any diff.

Ok thanks again...
Is that completely stock and flashes with Odin?
Any other special instructions needed to flash?
Just asking as it seems there is a lot of discussion on the entire thread and I'm not sure which issues are coming with which downloads.
Robert
Any issues where addressed.
Yes 100% stock.
Nothing special just load all four files in odin and flash it
Forgive me if I sound like a real dingba5, but I can't control myself from asking this. I have developed what can only be described as an unexplainable and illogical obsession with altering my Galaxy Express 2 SM-J327A 's factory condition. From what I know, there's no custom recovery, no ROM, no ROOT. NOTHING for this model. But the Sprint, Boost, etc. variants are all living it up in zip flashing heaven.
So using the same logic my man was using here, which was making sense, could I flash J327P firmware onto my device without ruining my day......
