When I click install it asks for a pin provided by my service provider. What is it asking to do and how do I get the pin?

Extract PRL

Does anyone know of a tool which can extract the PRL from a phone? I use a non-us provider and when upgrading my ROM it always shows that I am roaming, when I am not, this causes problems with email retreival as it always asks for permission to connect.
Thanks.

UK T-Mobile 1.43 Rom

Anyone know where I can get the UK T-Mobile 1.43 rom?
I had this on my phone originally but since flashing either the 1.48 and 1.61 rom I can no longer get a data connection for any program operating within Sense (Facebook, e-mail, weather etc) over the air, have to connect to Wifi for them to work.
My phone worked fine until I flashed it.
calm down. disable proxy server, you should be fine.

Cheers.....seemed to work at first but now I'm struggling with Opera.
Are you going on to advance settings>connections>proxy settings>then unclicking 'this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet'?
Doesn't seem to have helped, anyone know where I can get that ROM?
Try running the network setup tool for your provider.

use the auto configurator first, go to menu, update the database first. after that, select UK-->T-mobile-->restart. upon reboot, go to connections, untick use proxy server but keep the this connection connects to internet ticked. usually you dont need to do all these, just untick the proxy will do. but this is more like a fail safe method. i can confirm it definately works.
if you really want to revert back, there is a t-mobile stock ROM somewhere in this forum. i cant confirm it works, but u can give it a shot. i believe this is the file name. RUU_Leo_TMO_UK_1.43.110.0_Radio_Signed_15.25.50.07U_2.04.50.20_3_Ship.exe. proceed with caution.

Did give it a go, but T-Mobile's auto configure texts seem to be buggered!

Nope, unfortunately it didn't work. Will try to flash the T-Mobile rom and if the problem persists will send the phone back to be replaced.
Appreciate your help.

[Q] Connection Set up Not Working!!! HELP!!!

I went through the flashing okay. And I was even able to unlock and do everything else including getting a code from MS. But when I get to the step that says run connection set up, it tells me that my carrier is not in the database and then tells me to manually set up my APN.
I know I did everything else okay, but I know I can't edit my HD2 registry settings because of this. And my market and xbox features don't work because of this issue. Please, if anyone has had this experience, or knows why I'm getting a "carrier not in database" when I run HTC Connection set-up. I would greatly appreciate it. I hope I'm not the only one having this issue.
Same problem here. Whats your carrier?
I already tried to add the keys manually using a registry editor. However it didn't work and the phone has locked itself again. Now I cannot even unlock it anymore using chevron (it says no connection) so I cannot launch any registry editor or try something else. Probably I have to flush it again. However what I still really need is a solution to this problem with the carrier.
I have solved the problem. My carrier is a small carrier from austria (bob). It seems that the HTC tool simply doesn't have any data for this carrier (the tool in win mobile 6.5 has known bob...). I used another sim from another austrian carrier (a1), whith this i was able to run the tool and add the registry data!
The Connection Setup didn't work for me too. Just ask your provider for the APN (Access Point Name) the Username and the Password and type it in Settings-network- add APN. Thats all.
For A1 /bob its:
APN: A1.net
User: [email protected]
Password: ppp
Yes, but entering the APN has not been the problem. I wanted to use the Connection Setup to add registry keys according to the WP7 guide. However, I already have solved this by using another sim of another carrier.
@oscar2010 did this work for u too?

Do the following Steps:
Go into Settings
Select Cellular
At the bottom screen select "add apn"
Type "wap.cingular" in the APN field
Press the check sign to save.
Soft reset your phone and you should have data access
Also make sure you have "Data connection" On

ok so I did that. And by soft reset I'm assuming you mean taking the battery out and putting it back in. Did that. No data still

I have the exact same issue. Down to even the same radio. Has this issue been resolved with the APN? I have no problem with data just MMS. I can neither send nor receive.
I tried:
wap.cingular alone and with the [email protected] CINGULAR1 username and password combination
proxy
ism.cingular
isp.cingular
I checked my girlfriends Samsung WinPhone 7 config on AT&T and it lists no APN settings at all yet MMS works without issue.
I am at a road block here and MMS is something I use for work almost daily. I would really hate o have to go back to WinMo 6.5.
Thanks for your time everyone,
Mike

Always use Connection Setup when setting after a hard reset or new flash. Do manual setup if no other work around. The new ROM's have a new database of carrier settings to automate connection setups.

Anybody know how to disable "Insert Sim card" & enable manual APN settings?

Anybody know how to disable "Insert Sim card" & enable manual APN settings?
I put my AT&T sim card in and it works great! However I have noticed that I don't get cellular data and there is a persistent "Insert Sim card" message. Does anyone know of a way to permanentlydisable this particular message and manually enter the APN settings?
Thanks!
Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks ->Access Point Names to edit the APN. Not sure how to get rid of the message on this phone or if it is possible currently.

Once you root the phone you can disable the message; you will need to either delete or freeze the Setup Wizard apps.
