This isn't working. Only bootloops.
OEM Unlock is on.
Tried on fresh install.
Flashes successfully in Odin.
Bootloader mode states that Binary is already Custom.

It doesn't work, always show FAIL! (Deviceinfo) like the attachment.

...same here...

So I reflashed the stock BL, AP and CP to get my n930fd working again.
I did experience flash failure too with FAIL! message but after 7 or 8 retries, it successfully flashed but wouldnt boot.
I will retry later after this meeting at work.

HI, i23u8
What is your error message on odin??
Is FAIL! (Deviceinfo)?
And could you provide the option setting of flash .
Thanks!

So I tried the BRI version and it is bootlooping as well. Couldnt borrow someone else's phone as well to take pictures but it bootloops on the carrier logo.
Rebooting to recovery and wiping everything results to the same bootloop as well.
Reflashed BL and AP after 5 or 6 retries to get the phone to work again.

Note 3 SM-N900 Bricked!!! Any ROM installation gets stuck :(

Hello XDA Devs
First I would like to thank you for such great community. I am new here and this is my first post.
I bought Chinese Note 3 a week ago. And after using it for a little, I realized that Google Play services doesn't get installed because of its Custom ROM. I searched over and over again on Google XDA, and i tried following things:
Installing Recovery:
I found at one place that there is no official CWM recovery for SM-N900. But, I managed it to install via MTK Tools.
I can't try Odin because on pressing Volume Down + Power + Home buttons shows some Chinese menu.
Could't install TWRP dont know why.
Custom ROM Installation
After installing Recovery, I tried to install custom ROMs. I have tried about 5 ROMs listed below:
Lidroid
Hawkish Elite Series
VN ROM
Criskelo ROM
All these ROMs either get stuck while installing (some at 10%, some at 44% etc.), or suddenly recovery screen shows up with no confirmation about ROM installed successfully or aborted or what.
I HAVE RECOVERY: autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for SM-N900
Please help. I bought this phone just a week ago after saving money about 1 month. Thanks for your help in advance

First thing I would do is to Odin flash the official stock firmware
for your SM-N900 phone.
Here is the SamMobile link for the firmwares.
You can download the firmware from SamMobile.com .
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares
After odin flashing the firmware you should be able to
flash and root your phone using cf-autoroot and flash
twrp custom recovery using Odin.
Good luck, be sure to select the proper version and region for your phone.

You have not read the stickies - this community is NOT for fake Note 3 (which are generally highly incompatible in firmware with original models), you have to identify the precise type of clone you have and find the corresponding thread (if any) in General Android somewhere on XDA.

Hello, Thanks Misterjunky for your quick response
Unfortunately, I tried to start use Odin lots of times, but Odin requires the phone to be in Download Mode. And when I press Volume Down + Power Button + Home button, following menu in Chinese language shows up instead of the Warning sign most websites talk about for the download mode. And, Due to this reason, Odin doesn't detect my device i-e no slot gets yellow or blue in Odin software at my PC.

Ignore Misterjunky's post. He missed the bit where you said the keywords "MTK" and "Chinese menu".
In this case you cannot use anything you think a normal Note 3 can use - as you have a clone.

Given to authorised service center but they even can't fix it.... I don't understand if I can boot into download mode.... Then is it soft bricked or hard bricked..... And can the mobile be repaired if it's hard bricked....
Hard is hardware replacement
Soft is firmware or possibly PIT or nand damage .
usual reason is user not flashing the correct firmware / firmware damaged .
USB port/ Cable ? Usb Drivers

The recovery you provided works just fine! There was no issue booting up the phone, i havn't tried to flash a zip file with it yet, but i think it will work.
Other options like terminal and adb open up correctly on the local machine, and there is no reason for them to give issues when actually used for side loading and command input.
I have a recovery.log file if needed.
Thanks a lot, that was the first recovery for Galaxy A8 Sm-A800i.
I request @cheupe to move the post to the top and change the status to solved. All credits to @ashyx for successfully compiling the recovery.
Note - Flashing this recovery, or anything other than stock, might make your wifi to stop remembering passwords on reboot. (Only if you have flashed a custom boot.img /kernel). Flashing only the recovery without other modifications should theoretically not cause the issue.
Solution-
Open up system/build.prop, find "ro.securestorage.support=true" and change the "true" to "false" and reboot. Enter your wifi passwords once again and it should be permanant even after reboot.

Thanks for the feedback, glad it works. Now you guys have the door open for custom roms and root. I will officially release this to XDA if you are happy everything is working.
Regarding your note on the wifi, Recovery shouldn't affect the wifi. Custom kernels that dont have the "ro.securestorage.support=false" set usually have this issue. However that can be fixed.
Did you have an issue with wifi as that is a new one on me with custom recovery?

The wifi problem occurs everytime i flash something that is not stock. Flashing a custom boot.img for root caused the issue. It was fixed with tweaking the build.prop.
Now everytime i flash anything, be it boot or recovery via odin, i have to tweak the build file. The only exception to this is flashing the stock firmwhere.

Well as the issue was probably caused by the modified boot.img, its gonna occur only for those who have rooted their phones using that particular method. I am pretty sure flashing just the recovery you provided will not cause the issue. The note was for who are here after rooting. I still dont get it why the build file changes when i flashed the recovery, even though i had tweaked it and not touched the kernel after that. I dont understand the reason for it to change back to true after flashing something such as a recovery.

I concur. Thats strange to say at the least. Why would flashing something after flashing a custom kernel change the build.prop. I guess, somethings are just the way they are

What did you flash?
You can recover by flashing stock firmware.
NOTE: One of the main reasons for flashing custom recovery is to make a full backup of your device.
ALWAYS ensure this is done BEFORE flashing custom stuff.

Try flashing the corresponding uninstall x64 zip. It will reverse all the steps that the install did. Good luck.

Downloading now,....... Just got this device due to a insurance claim so this is a completelt new phone to me and I really want to either start or add to one specific form till we get a complete spot on the fourms.... Any way my ideal or a good ideal for us is to add everthing that is confirmed working as on today and add it to one fourm and reserve like 10 entrys for specific problems and the solutions. Or just in a easy format so everything is not so confusing till we get our device a Fourm started instead of a thread thats confusing and hard to follow.... Anyone with me???? Its a new device and we need development so bad.. im stuck in a bootloop as of now and cant find the info to help me and its so aggervating.... someone will have to maintain it of course

This does not work. I've tried it multiple times on multiple versions of Odin. This will not work if you use Boost Mobile. It either fails, hangs at flashing boot.img, or hangs at SetupConnection.

This works to get you back to stock from bootloop. I tried my hand at rooting this little SOB (TWRP,Magisk) and tripped the Knox counter bc I forgot to wipe it. Reboot came up with "Validation Failure" and I was stuck. I stumbled over this post and with nothing to lose other than $130.
First piece of advice...Use Odin 3.12.3 ONLY!! I tried the latest version and it didn't work. Download the files, place them in the appropriate boxes and flash. reboot into recovery, wipe the cache/data and you should be good. Mine took quite a while after hanging on the Boost mobile splash screen, but about 3 reboots later, it brought me to the configuration screen. It's up, running and I even got the OTA software update, but then again, it is stock.

New Firmware QI5 released 10/11/2017...still lists August 1 Security Update

551 meg update, It says it's a security update, but it's a little bigger than the typical security-only update. Oddly, the device info still shows August 1 security level but the kernel is dated September 18th.
According to Sammobile, this is a limited update to fix the BlueBorne vulnerability. More info at https://www.sammobile.com/2017/09/27/blueborne-fix-galaxy-note-4-galaxy-j3-2017-galaxy-s5-plus-galaxy-tab-s3-released/
Note, the links to firmware in this article are not for the Sprint version.
Do you have a link to the Sprint version?
Hello,
After installing this update, I couldn't install any other older version by using Odin, I get ''FAIL! (Auth)''
Any ideas, please?

Same thing here. But I also restored TWRP backup with previous firmware - and got a boot loop. Tried many firmwares, even stock 6.0.1 (just removed aboot from tar and load all else), but phone still rebooting after about 45-60 seconds from power up. Android may boot, show desktop, wifi networks - all seems to be ok, but it WILL reboot after short time from power on (in TWRP reboots not occur)... Probably because I now have previous modem + new aboot...
Could you please make a TWRP backup of your current firmware (boot, modem, system at least, or better anything exclude cache and data), and please-please share it?

I have one idea - but I really not sure that it will work.
As I wroted in previous post, I haved same situation - OTA and after it Odin don't want to update firmware because aboot version fail. I've loaded all other files from stock tar - system.ext4 needs to be edited with winhex to change version from 3 to 4 - and after that odin loads it. But I don't have found how to change version from aboot to override version check.
But, if we have TWRP, we can copy aboot to micro SD, and in TWRP do something like
dd if=/external_sd/aboot.mbl of=/dev/block/<partition name for aboot>
This will overwrite aboot in phone memory, and IF all will be good - you will have state like before OTA. But, if something goes wrong, OR if Samsung stores, let's say, md5 of aboot in some other region of memory and check if before every phone booting - we will have a brick that probably can't be updated with odin anymore...
Ran into same problem. The only way I found to get a somewhat factory setup was...
Be rooted and from there use flashfire to flash the previous firmware. It won't install the aboot and the modem if you don't want. I was left with almost factory state. Everything is on QI5 firmware but the actually "system" partition. You can't take an ota. System shows custom. Recovery shows dm-verity fails. Other than that everything seems to be fine.
I tried Kies and smart switch as well to get the firmware.
Hopefully sammobile or updato will get the current update soon.

I've tried it - but have same picture - phone vibrates and reboots after some time. I tried many ROMs, Lineage, for example, starts fast enough to show android desktop - it looks like ROM itself booted normally, but after some time (about 45-60 seconds) phone will vibrate and reboot...
Can this be because of some problems with EFS partition? How to you think? Could you please share it also? Actually, EFS and aboot - only two things that can be blamed... I tried to change all else - but symptoms is not changing.

So weird!
My friend's phone has exactly the same symptoms, whenever he tries to install an ota update, his photo boot up then as you described, vibrates the restart, the only build that works is PC1!
Now he is on QI5 boot loader and modem and PC1 rom, other roms don't work! they vibrate then restart!
If you find fix please share it.
Could you check under the battery what is version do you have, ex. 14.10 or 14.11,..?

Of couse I'll share solution, if I'll able to find one. But for now I'am stuck... Tried many roms - but behaviour same on stock 6.0.1 and on Lineage OS...
I have 910P camouflaged to 910F, under battery I don't see 14.0/14.1 or some looks like to it. Model under battery is SM-N910F, I can see 910P only in Odin load mode.

Guys, I've found solution.
Here is odin-flasheable QI5 firmware!
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1blPsoKK5taRk5SZ3NwdmUtTzA
Please note, if you'll load it, you CAN'T downgrade! This will update aboot to version 5.
So, load it only if you know what are you doing!
This helps me with reboots issue, so now I'am able to load custom ROMs, and they at least don't reboot every 70 seconds.
Celluar part, data over celluar modem - don't tested yet.

*The CSC contains a PIT and will wipe the phone; HOME_CSC does not and will not, respectively.
**Odin v3.13.1 is required to flash Oreo firmware (LZ4 compression support). Below is the xda forum link to the original odin and my patched odin for flashing and/or crossflashing.

Choice is CSC or HOME_CSC. Success will vary depending on previous firmware and/or phone data.

Worked perfectly with HOME_CSC and all the other files in zip without USERDATA or CSC. Thanks for this!

Not really. Maybe a backup, if you wish.

Not sure if you can flash with a stock odin or not. But this firmware will work fine on any snapdragon g950u/g950u1 phones.

I have tried flashing an unlocked Samsung S8 with the above Verizon firmware but I am running into a problem. I set up to flash the BL, AP, CP and HOME_CSC files and Odin begins the process but hangs for many minutes at "Setup Connection", and then eventually states FAIL for reprogramming. It knows the phone is connected and "added" on the right COM port but will not flash. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help, a lot!!!!! I am running Odin3 v3.13

I was enabling USB debug in developer mode but when I went into download mode it would not work. Apparently I am fat fingered and deselected USB debugging so no usable connection. Once got that done used ¡BBB! Odin patched (THANK YOU SIR!!!!!!!!) and loaded the files above. Reflashed and rebooted in a few minutes, got PASS out of Odin and phone booted up just fine. Now I am able to enable the Advanced Calling feature which I sorely needed living in a lousy reception cell zone area. Thanks all for the work you put in, it is most appreciated!

Is there a newer version to this? I am currently trying to flash my S8 back to stock after failing to root it (I didnt realize rooting on this phone was blocked). I keep getting the following error: SW Rev Check Fail: [abl]Fused 3 > Binary 2.
Please help!

It sounds like you are trying to flash a version 2 bootloader when you already have a version 3 BL installed. You need to find an updated ROM that has the version 3 BL.

I actually managed to fix it. I ended up using an ATT file set? And that worked perfectly fine for me.
