stock firmware for t-550 - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Does anyone have a link to the stock firmware for the t-550? I just picked up this tablet, upgraded to mashmallow, had twrp installed thru odin. Then I wasnt paying attention, never made a backup, then installed the deoxed rom from ashyx, it wouldn't boot up. I tried the firmware thru sammobile, when I tried to install it, and it said it couldn't find the meta-inf file, I can get to odin mode, and twrp, but I can not find a link to a firmware I can get to load. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Install with ODIN not TWRP.

Thanks, what box do I need have check, do I add it in the AP slot, like the twrp?

Leave all at default, put in AP and hit start

Thanks, most of my tablet experience isn't with odin, I look foward to trying your rom.

Was actually referring to the stock firmware.
The deodexed rom needs to be installed via twrp and you would need to be running the same firmware base.

[Q] Rooted phone - can't flash rom and forgot to backup.

Hello, I rooted my galaxy 4 yesterday with odin v.3.07 and flashed CWM. I erased as usual when you flash another rom, but when i try to install a rom it just say something like "Aborted". I can access CMW and download mode, but can't install a rom from CMW, and I don't have any backup. Anybody know what to do? My computer knows that the phone is plugged in as i can see it in the odin program.

Could you give me a link please? I'm afraid of downloading the wrong stock file since my internet is so slow hehe. My phone is model number: i9505. Do i flash it inside CMW or with Odin? I read something about flashing with odin, but on my other phone i've always used CMW

Hi,
You will need to find the right one for your phone HERE
You must know the area your phone came from.
These seem to be zips,so flash with CWM.

Thank you, I found it. But when i tried to install roms with CWM before it just said "Aborted", maybe their is something wrong with CWM. I read something about installing with Odin, but then i'll need a .tar file or something like that

You have to unzip this file and install the content with Odin.
After unzipping this archive you should end up witch md5 file and this is the file to put in to Odin

Maybe try installing a different recovery.
I heard sometimes these new recoveries need more than one go to install things.

Boy that could be bad...
BUT if you get to Download mode you may be able to grab the full MK2 Odin-able .tar you should be Okay.
Please note that the sph-L720 is NOT the L720T. If you have that version and you flash this .tar you'll be hosed.

Make sure to Run Odin 'as administrator'.
From the zip just extract the .tar.md5 and place that into the PDA slot. Odin 3.09 seems to be working the best for most on this device.

You'll be stock everything - baseband(modem), kernel, recovery and ROM.
You will have the knox bootloader, so when you flash a custom recovery you'll 'trip' that. But not really a big deal. You can remove the 'Knox software(s) if you want - there are some removal scripts here in the forums. Only thing is you can't Odin back before MJA/MK2.
To root you can use CF-Autoroot or Saferoot, then use Goomanager or find a recovery zip here and install custom recovery of your choice.

Ok when i try to open the mk2 file it keeps saying the md5 hash is invalid. Ive tried 3 different odins to open it and i get the same result..
You don't open the .tar.md5 file.
You place this file - L720VPUEMK2_L720SPTEMK2_L720VPUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5 in the PDA slot.

have you tried heimdall? its unbricked me a few times, and its way easier to use too. i think you can use ob both windows and mac, i used on mac. if you are familiar with how to use a command line tool or terminal, this is the way to go. just my humble opinion.

You don't flash ROMs through ODIN. You'll need to use ODIN from your computer to flash the stock firmware, reroot, install a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM, and flash the ROM through the custom recovery.

sammobile.com should have it. You'll need to make a free account, and search for your model. I'm not sure what firmwares you can and can't downgrade on i337m, so try and get the same one you were on before. You might also want to use a CSC changer to make sure it identifies with your correct carrier, but I don't believe it's necessary.

SM-G900F STOCK ROM, please help

Hi,
I have been using RR for quite a while now, but lately I am having several troubles and I'd like to go back to the stock version, now that MM is available on S5 officially.
Is it possible? What is the best way to do so? Can I use TWRP to update the rom instead of odin?

Yes it's possible, just download your official stock rom from sammobile, then extract the tar.md5 file from the zip and flash via odin. 1 point I will say is do a factory reset via twrp first as it's a clean fresh start. Once phone is done reboot to recovery and do another factory reset vis stock recovery. Then reboot and enjoy. I personally went backwards and went back to kk

thanks, why is it Odin needed? Cannot be flashed like another rom using TWRP?
Also, I need to register to sammobile, I guess there is not alternative, right?

Because it's the official software and unmodified Samsung firmwares must be flash via odin. Plus it's the safest way to get stock back. If u can find a stock MM rom that's already been tweaked and made into a zip u can but modems and bootloader's (which come in official firmwares) can only be flashed via odin. It'll take around 30-50 mind to download on pc, are you wanting unbranded UK firmware? If so give me 20 mind to upload it

Thanks, I don't remember much since the last time I used odin. I will look up for the instruction. I have just another question, I guess in doing so I will loose the TWRP boot. Is that right? If so, how am I supposed to backup and restore the data?

Do a backup first and store on ext sd card, no if card do backup and move to pc, then once flashed stock just re-root and flash twrp again and then u can restore your backup.
