S7 Edge Root Texting - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

All,
I have tried the fixes and the BS Free ROM for my GS7 Edge while rooted and nothing seems to fix the issue with receiving texts while the screen is off. Making a call to kickstart the sms service is the only way that works. Does anyone know of a more tried and true method to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Factory reset to stock firmware fixed it for me when I was rooted

Would returning to stock firmware lose my root status?

Modeified software

Hey there, a friend of mine has given his sgs3 to the repair center, and after receiving it, he is on 4.1.2 and when he tries to update, gets a message like "you have modified sofrware". How can this be solved?
P.s. Sorry for posting here, but i tried to post in q&a and got a message saying "forum closed".

Sounds like it's rooted. Did your friend send it in that way?

No, he never rooted his phone or flashed custom fw. He was always on stock.
Update: i checked it now and its rooted, but i can confirm that he didn't root it himself. Will unrooting and factory reset fix the update issue?

Possible root?

This method is for the chinse version of our phones... but i figured they are snapdragon so there components are their same? I know tmobile and sprint have the same parts and everything so maybe this will work. Its a recovery file and i will be trying it as soon as possible.

downgrade G935TUVU3APG1

Is there anyway to downgrade G935TUVU3APG1 to G935TUVU2APD7
Did updating to the newest patch make your phone experience constant app crashing and resets??

July security update

July security update is out. Should I download it? Will it affect root?
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Try it. Find out. Not hard to reroot.
I will wait maybe there's no come back from that version then you wouldn't downgrade

I haven't tried, so I don't know. The update said something about not being able to downgrade, but I don't know if it actually locks it or not.

Try to flash it in odin, then as soon as your phone reboots hold vol +, home, and power. See if that will let you boot into TWRP
Already did that
Boots into stcok recovery0

Att. Sm-T337A problems

I have had this tablet for about a year now. A few days ago i decided to factory rest. Now I can't finish setting up because it's asking for a samsung account. Says it's locked due to abnormal factory reset. I signed in using my gmail account, but I don't remember ever setting up a samsung account on the tablet. I have tried various tutorials online, so far no luck. Still stuck and can't use it. I tried calling att and they said contact samsung. Which I did, and the only option they give me is to send in fir repair, at my expense. I'm not willing to do that on a tablet that I barely use, which is still under contract. Just looking for options here. I'm stuck paying the monthly fee for another 9 months on this tablet, that I can't use. Thanx in advance.
