Simulate gyroscope? - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, so about a week ago i purchased a Mattel View-Master® starter pack. It came yesterday.
So when i tried to look at the fox nothing happened, and searching on google i found that this phone has no gyroscope sensor. And our brother J7 also does not have it?
So, my question is - is there a way that you can simulate gyroscope on our sweet J5?
Or i just wasted 30 bucks? :crying:
Thanks
EDIT : I just found a xposed module that allows you to simulate gyroscope. testing it now

Nope. You can't. To save the money sell it or ask for refund. Or get a new device.

J5 has a ,,somehow,, magnetic sensor near the audio jack. It is used for smart covers. If you put a magnet near it screen goes off .

You can check the location with *#0*# on dialer and press FIELD button

Nah.. Sensor box is related to files that are in system/etc/permissions. There are declared all the hardware capabilities. And since gyroscope and magnetic sensor files are not there, apps won't regognize it even the board has these chips.

Done!
However no change, still not working.
I will ask my friend to do the same and then check with his phone.
I don´t understand what´s wrong, it worked on his phone earlier so i don´t think is rom related.

Screen touch responsiveness

Anyone else having to double tap the screen for it to register your click when trying to click on something? It's getting annoying
No issues here. I have read certain aftermarket screen protectors will cause the screen to be less responsive.

I only have the screen protector that came with the phone. It's a very odd issue. I tried turning on the gloves mode feature amongst other settings with no success.

The screen "protector" that came with the phone, is not really a protector for daily use, just for the "transport" ... i replaced it with a professionell one from a company, and the touch response is now much better as before!

October update broke the smart cover function?

Hi.
I was so happy that i for once had a phone where everything just worked.
That was untill the october patch. About 1059 Mb.
Now my magnetic smart cover doesent wake up or shut down the screen anymore.
By the way im totally stock.
Anybody else experienced this?
Thanks

Hey, guys, my LeEco 1S died completely and I am thinking to buy this Mi A1.
Would you recommend it from XDA point of view? I am into flashing and modding but plan to after voiding the warranty(after a year).
Please let me know. Also, I didn't know this device supports magnetic covers like Samsung S-series. A Flipkart link would be helpful, I'll add to my cart to buy when I have funds.
Thanks.
I tested the hall sensor and it's working fine but no go with a cover

Same here!
The flip (Nillkin) was ok before and during the upgrade, with factory settings. I was happy for 1-2 hours only....
After November update problem solved.
Good news is that the 1 Dec firmware update resolve the smart cover issue.

The home buttons, as they are now, take up way too much space. And, you can pull a Pixel or OnePlus 5T out of a pants pocket and have it already unlocked before you can even find the button on the front of a phone.
All comes down to ergonomics. Just makes more sense on the back.

For my thumb, it is.
Using a long phone like this and trying to use a thumb to unlock it while gripping it may just make me drop the phone. The index finger on the back makes more sense as I'm already grabbing the phone naturally. My index finger can reach the back fp sensor naturally, but I need to move my thumb downwards to reach a front fp sensor and if the phone is long, I need to shift the phone upwards so my thumb can reach the bottom of the phone. Trying to adjust the phone using one hand in order to reach the front fp sensor makes no sense to me.
Of course a front fp sensor makes most sense for unlocking the phone on the table, no doubt about that. But I can always use double tap to wake and unlock it using pin or pattern. And if the phone is near me, I can just look at it to face unlock.

Can you be more specific on "destroyed". Is the logic board intact?
Changing the glass is something you're not supposed to do, and Samsung tries to screw you by making it so you destroy the amoled display, if you want to buy a replacement panel, they're not cheap, they are worth like 70usd (an amoled one not those crappy LCD imitations).
Its even a better idea to buy a used S5, they're like 80usd nowadays

Indeed its a feasible task, but a pain in the ass, for you may end up breaking the panel once you press the glass and the glue, let's say it is a hit or miss, but you will sure agree that samsung made it nearly unfixable so that you better buy a new display module instead of just changing the glass.

It's not the most dangerous stage of the process.
I'd say, cleaning after the glass separation is the most dangerous. Especially if you have to replace the polarizer (the LCD becomes too thin and easy-breakable without it).

I think, Samsung's aim was to make an excellent display and this was really achieved.
You know, this is difficult for the first and, probably, the second time to replace the glass only.
I'd suggest training on the broken LCDs.
You'll find it to be much more easy the third time
