So today I wanted to update my ROM to the newest edition
While doing that I wanted to clean my SD card
So what I did was
Go into recovery
Factory recovery
Clean cache
Clean davick
Clean SD
Went to `reboot now` and device is stuck at Google logo
I can access bootloader and recovery
Usually I would have the rom on a external-SD which I forgot to realize there isnt one on the Nexus 7
So I tried to flash everything back to factory default using the methods here

I keep getting stuck at flashing the bootloader
saying `fail` flashing bootloader
I am really stuck

dont mean to silly bump when you already solved your problem. but in case it happens again-
if you wiped the SD card by accident(i too on several occasions forget the nexus doesnt have external sd card) you can just access the sideload option in clockwork recovery
just sideload your rom via your computer, and problem solved
Hi,
My nexus 4 was perfectly running the 4.4 kitkat when all of a sudden I received an OTA for build KRT16S. After the installation my phone didn't boot up and it's been stuck on google page ever since.
Details:
Rooted
twrp recovery 2.6.3.3
ART runtime
Encrypted.
My phone restarted straight into twrp, I typed the encryp. password and it started to install the new update automatically and it said successful.
I restart and it gets stuck on google page.
Please help guys

You probably have too many customizations and especially running custom recovery. OTA is meant for stock Android.
Do a factory reset in TWRP and see if it boot. Otherwise search for a stock KRT16S rom in the development section, and use the TWRP sideload feature to install it.

Thanks eksasol, I had the stock Android installed on this nexus and I got the ROM straight from google.
I will try doing a factory reset or installing the ROM from sideload. but would any of these erase my data?

Doing factory reset in TWRP won't wipe your internal storage, but it will clear your installed apps and its data ofcourse. Just don't select to wipe internal storage in the advance wipe. Installing rom zips will not wipe your data either.
If you want to backup everything from your internal storage, just connect the phone while in TWRP, then type: adb pull /data/media/ C:\backup\
I wiped and installed a fresh copy at the end and its working now.

Just edit your thread title and write SOLVED before the title.
So, yesterday i tried to install Euphoria OS on my phone, but in all of a sudden, the /cache partition corrupted, i was dumb enough and deleted it via TWRP, making my phone fall into the QPST status.
After fixing it, i proceeded and reflashed KitKat, but the phone only shows 8GB instead of 16GB, so i tried to fix this by flashing TWRP, everything went well, until i upgraded to Lollipop again.
It always bootloops no matter what i do, i really need my phone with my 16GB of storage back, it isn't a Hardware failure since the QPST diagnosis didn't say anything about mobo failures.
I can mount all the partitions, i can wipe it all, i can boot into bootloader and recovery, i can do basically everything but booting the system.
Any light on this? it either happens after i flash TWRP or after i try to root it.
Im running Android 5.1.1 stock.

Don't you dare tell me to reflash the ROM again, this is the first thing i have done, i did this 20 times already and it never worked. It isn't a ROM problem. It is a partition problem somewhere.
Fixed, had to use LGNPST to reflash JB 4.4.2, then upgraded to a ZIP version of the Lollipop ROM, then flashed the stock one.
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 4. I read also about LGNPST, but I remember something about flashing the Optimus G cache partition I believe, then manipulating one of the prop files afterwards in order to get your 16gigs back. The problem is that all of the files needed to do this flash are attached to a stupid downloader site and so its full of pop up windows and adware from what I've seen. I can't get mine to boot into system, or bootloader, or recovery, etc. The device will not finish looping for debugging to be enabled, and even trying to boot into download mode is not happening. I've tried all I know to do, especially considering fastboot and adb both utilizeusb debugging. I really am baffled. Any root kits I've tried also don't work so far. Help please.

Adb sideload full ROM in TWRP with adb push *file* /sdcard
Wipe everything again and reinstall a full OOS zip found here in the forums. Make sure you install it to both slots, once you flash the full rom zip, flash TWRP again, reboot twrp and then reboot to system. You'll have to set everything up again unfortunately. My advice would be after you make a nandroid, copy it to a PC so that when you go to wipe everything, you can copy everything back and go from there or do what I do and buy a USB Type-C flash drive and when you go to make a backup, just backup to the flash drive. Or worst case use the MSM Download Tool to start fresh. Just make sure if you have the T-Mobile 6T to use the MSM specifically for the T-Mobile version.
I keep all of my important files like ROM's, recovery, Kernels, and backups on a 128gb SanDisk Ultra Fit 3.1 and use a Samsung OTG adapter. They can be had on eBay or Amazon for about $25. 32gb for $10, 64gb for $15-20, and 128gb for $20-25.

I tried to sideload through TWRP and it failed every time I tried "total xfr: 1.00x.
I was thinking that maybe I should flash stock recovery and from stock recovery to flash the whole OOS Rom as i downloaded from OnePlus website?

and was wondering about the Fastboot roms, can I just flash it through fastboot and get the phone back working, since TWRP not working.

Can you please explain what do you mean by installing it on both slots?
Edit: i Have just discovered the slots on TWRP which is something new to me and googling/trying to understand it.
isn't it possible to flash everything back using fastboot or stock recovery?
TWRP have failed in side-loading the stock rom zip I installed from oneplus website.

While you're booted into TWRP, if it boots to Slot A, install OOS to A, then change to Slot B and flash OOS to B. PM me if you need help. I'll try and help as best as I can.

I have just decided to go to sleep, and in twrp i tried to click power off. The phone ended up in bootloop... then i tried to boot into bootloader. and then few more minutes the phone just booted in OOS Rom and started the setup process as new Rom.
Which is weird, I don't know what happened.
Also i have lost the TWRP recovery
I m not sure if it is related, to me clicking on slots A - B or so.

That's the point of slots, if your ROM is screwed in active slot and can't boot, at next boot the other slot will be set and tried. If there's a working ROM on it it's good. And if in the other slot no custom recovery is present you lose it
That's why I don't understand why people recommend to flash the same ROM on both slots, it goes on the contrary of the slot philosophy. The only understandable case is when you need to have up to date vendor official partitions before flashing a custom ROM: there the ROM Dev can recommend to flash official OOS twice. But it's not the case till now in the few custom ROM I've seen around
Sounds like you might have been making it too complicated. You can sideload the ROM, or just transfer the ROM to the phone and load it. The phone will be seen by the OS as a MTP device when TWRP is up and running.
When you are in slot A and you install the factory ROM it is automatically installed to slot B and vice versa. You need to immediately install the TWRP recovery to keep TWRP as the ROM will overwrite your recovery with the stock recovery. Then you need to reboot to recovery again, this would put to the opposite slot where your "new" ROM is installed, and let you install Magisk. If you want to update this the original slot just install the ROM and TWRP again. Reboot to recovery again. No need to specify slots, unless you didn't want to change something in the other slot for some reason (like a dual boot or something)
At this point just fast boot the TWRP image and re-run the TWRP installer to get TWRP back and it sounds like you're all set.

Hi, I tried to copy the zip file through MTP but it didn't work, the internal storage on PC looked empty and was not mentioning any size of the storage, and when I try to copy and past a file, the copy process gets stuck on 0% forever.
Sideloading didn't work too. The CMD on PC reached 47% and then gave an error of total xfr:1.00x. when i tried to flash the stock rom zip file from oneplus website.
I had TWRP latest official one, i m not sure if it has issues.
Is there a way to validate that the stock rom files and all are still all working fine? Maybe re-flash the stock rom through stock recovery since TWRP is gone?
Also regarding the slot A and Slot B, i have never flashed anything except root through TWRP. So it could be when i wiped it wiped the empty slot. But the system is back at to zero and setup as new.

Hi, I'm new to rooting. A week ago or so I installed Pixel Experience Rom to my device but didn't liked it to much and my phone was constantly freezing for a second or so. I decided to go back to Oxygen OS with android 9 but keep the TWRP as my recovery and root my phone with Magisk.
Anyways today I got this notification saying that after phone downloads and install the software update my phone will reboot and unroot itself and I should back up my data. /a/DWgVyTK (imgur link)
After using my phone with root I liked it better this way. Anyways because I'm beginner level on this topic I don't know what should I do. I don't want to set up my phone again from the start after the update and I like root but I want my software to be latest as well. Is there any other way to install the update without deleting everything on phone?
Also if I download the latest software update can I flash it with TWRP without deleting anything on phone? Or back up my things with TWRP and install the software and use that back up to get everything back together again? Little bit help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for answering. I tried dirty rom installing but twrp is not seeing my device's internal memory. I'm guessing that it's because oxygen os encrypts my phone when i enter the system after installation. It happened earlier as well when I tried to install oxygen os and root my phone and the time i tried to install pixel experience rom. I decided not to do clean installation as of now because I don't want to loose my data. (i certainly can get back everything on my phone but it usually takes few hours for that). Is there any other way to unencrypting the phone without wiping everything off?
My current oxygen os version is 9.0.2
I was trying to install 9.0.3.

I've only tried using TWRP as my recovery, Pixel experience rom and oxygen os rom. The thing is because upon entering the phone after flashing a rom you can't access the internal storage of the phone with TWRP because phone encrypts itself. That means I can't dirty flash it and need to wipe everything out with TWRP then reboot TWRP again and install new rom after that flash magisk and reboot to system and set everything up from the scratch.
When I started this thread I didn't knew how to dirty flash a rom. Now I know and realize the problem I'm having is phone's encryption.
UPDATE:
I have used this guide to disable encryption on my phone. (I tried putting the link to the guide but for some reason i can't. It was on Custom Droid about how to remove one plus 5's encryption) I wiped everything on my phone with TWRP, installed the new OTA with Oxygen OS 9.0.3, flashed the file they provided on the guide, started system, went through steps and checked my encryption status and it was still encrypted.
Entered recovery again and wiped everything once more. Installed Magisk entered my system. (I was wiping everything down because otherwise TWRP wasn't able to see my device's storage), went through all the steps again. Installed Magisk's apk. Checked my root status. Everything was okay but still my phone was encrypted. Downloaded latest version of the Magisk. Wiped everything down once more installed Magisk. Rebooted into my system to see my phone's encryption was still there. At this point I gave up and started restoring my apps, data and everything with it.
Now I can't update my software whenever I want because TWRP won't see my device's storage because of encryption. Basically dirty flashing isn't available for me.
Have you guys tried and find a solution for this? If so please let me know. I would highly appreciate it.

To prevent the OxygenOS to encrypt your phones storage you need to flash no verity patch before first boot(instructions). But coming from a custom rom requires to format internal storage, otherwise it won't work.

Just follow the CLEAN FLASH INSTRUCTIONS and on the 2nd last step you flash that patch which prevents you from encrypted storage.

I've already tried the clean flash instructions. However I flashed the patch before magisk last time I tried it but it didn't work. Maybe because my order was wrong. Since I don't have much time right now. I'm going to try that once again tomorrow this time exactly like on the guide. I will let you know about the results.

Remember to format the internal storage exactly written in the instructions and then flash the no verity patch, otherwise it will not work.

I flashed codeworkx twrp like you said on that thread. Now I can decrypt the phone. TWRP asks me for screen password and when I entered it, it showed me the internal memory. Now I can see my device's internal memory from recovery without wiping out everything.
My previous TWRP was twrp-3.2.3-0-cheeseburger.img
Installed twrp-3.2.3-0-20181227-codeworkx-nocompatcheck-cheeseburger.img via twrp app on my phone like you said on that thread. Thank you very much again.
