Samsung Galaxy Core Plus SM-G350 Root - Samsung Galaxy Core Plus Questions & Answers

Hi guys! I'm just registered and I hope that this is the right section
I've received a Samsung Galaxy Core Plus SM-G350 and I would like to root it; I found some guides but I'm not sure if they really work, so nowadays there's an official guide about the root of my phone? If exist, could you link me?
These are my specs:
Model: SM-G350
Android Version: 4.2.2
Build ID: JDQ39.G350XXUANB1
Thanks in advance! :good:

What do KingRoot and SuperSU say, after you open them?
Start SuperSU first. If it doesn't complain, get an System App Remover from PlayStore, grant it root permission through SuperSU and remove KingRoot.

When I open SuperSU it says "the SU executable must be updated" but when I press "continue" the installaton fails and the app closed.
I gave it root permissions from KingRoot (which works perfectly) but nothing has changed and I can't uninstall KingRoot because SuperSU doesn't works..have you some ideas to resolve this problem?

Then the script seems not to work with your Phone...
Sure it's a SM-G350 (Without any letters or numbers after the 0)?
If yes, there is a second method to install SuperSU (I'll add it to my guide later):
1) Uninstall SuperSU and unroot through KingRoot
2) Download the supersu.zip from here and place it on the root of your sdcard
3) Download the twrp flashable tar from here
4) Download and extract Odin as described in the guide
5) Start your device in Download Mode and connect it to your PC
6) Start Odin and load up the recovery.tar as AP file
7) UNTICK Auto-Reboot
8) Press Flash to Flash the recovery to your phone
9) After it had finished, disconnect your device from PC and remove the battery to shut it down
10) Start your device in Recovery mode (press Vol Up+Home button+Power Button and hold them, release the power button when Galaxy Core Plus splash screen shows up)
11) Now your device should start up TWRP (if stock recovery or the normal System is booting, go back to step 5)
12) Press "Install ZIP"
13) In a bar above your files there should read "Internal Storage" at the moment. Press on it and select "External Storage"
14) Now select the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and press (or swipe) Install
15) After the zip installed and your device reboots, you should be rooted now

Yes, it's a SM-G350 and practically with this method first I install a custom recovery and then from here I root my phone. I'll try this way, thanks! :good:

Fantastic! It works perfectly! SuperSU is installed and I confirm with Root Checker that my phone is rooted! Thanx a lot!

I would recommend to upgrade directly to Android 4.4 by flashing CyanogenMod ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3284322), because now some apps will shut down for 4.3-

Just follow the below steps :
if you are still getting the stock recovery 3e follow these steps :
1. When flashing CWM through odin untick the "Auto Reboot" option within Odin.
2. Flash CWM.
3. When done , press power & volume up ( the one apart from power button ) until the Samsung logo appears, then leave both buttons.
4. CWM will appear.
5. Choose "Reboot System now "
6. You will get a new screen with an option mentioning something like " disable flash recovery , press it & reboot.
7. Now if you get back to pressing power & volume up you will have a permanent CWM.
Then you can install root through CWM.

Rooting without flashing a new Rom (tested it myself!)

First of all, this is not a work of mine. I'm not a developer. I just want to share this root method that i found without having to flash a new ROM. Thank faisalxp, not me.
This method is tested on my GT-I8190 with firmware 4.1.2 I8190DXALL3 (indonesia). I'm not responsible of any damage this method caused. Now, lets get started!
1. Download CWM recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108614 and follow the instructions there.
2. Download update.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1682974&d=1359355131 (Updated file below)
3. Copy update.zip to SDCARD
4. Enter recovery mode by turning off your phone (if you haven't) and press and hold Power button + Volume up button + Home button at the same time and release when the samsung logo shows up
NOTE: to navigate the recovery mode, Up is volume up, Down is volume down, and to choose a option press the power button
5. After you're in recovery mode install update.zip by selecting "install zip from sd card" then "choose zip from sdcard" (or from external sdcard) then choose the update.zip you previously copied. Wait for the installation to finish, then Reboot your device by selecting "reboot system now"
6. To check whether your device is rooted, download Root Checker from play store and run it, or check whether the SuperSu is available on the menu.
7. If it works, Congratulations! Your Galaxy S III mini is now rooted!
NOTE: This method will increase your Binary Counter, But you can change it back with TriangleAway!

this will not work on all sgs3 mini because after you flash CWM on some phones you will not be able to enter recovery mode by pressing Power button + Volume up button + Home it is an unknown bug on CWM , for any other method to go in recovery mode you need your phone already rooted

Not being able to get to recovery with Power button + Volume up button + Home is not because of CWM.
I havn't been able to do that ever. Probably different bootloader versions in the first batch or something.
Hello what is what this manipulation works on galaxy s3 mini i8190N 4.1.2 Roma to operateur sfr?
And what sound risks them if the manipe echoue?
Thank you
I found a workaround for this , but you will need a PC in order to do that , even if your phone is not rooted you can enable debug mode from phone settings , and run from ADB : | adb reboot recovery | you will be able to go to CWM menu and flash update.zip which will root your phone.

Nice. Confirm this working. Stock rom rooted.

If not Succeed, Try Flash Stock Recovery.Tar.MD5 preemptively New Flash CWM It ... Here I Attach File update.zip Again, With the Latest Superuser and BusyBox - 2013
It has to be stressed that flashing CWM via Odin or Heimdall increases your download counter.
And at the moment triangle away does not support this phone.
So only go ahead with this method if you do not care about Samsung's warranty.

Custom binary counter can be seen when in download mode. It's a counter to keep track of non-Samsung signed binaries flashed with Odin. If you need to take your device to Samsung for warranty and they notice it's not at zero, you'll not under warranty anymore.

Newbie here.

Hi!
You can easily boot a custom recovery and then install the SuperSU.zip from there .
1 - Download the SuperSU zip from here: http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip.
2 - Copy it to your Nexus 10 root folder (the one where it's located Download, DCIM, Android, etc)
3 - Download the .img file from here: http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/128, then rename it to recovery.img
4 - Copy it to your fastboot/adb folder (if you doesn't have one search for how to get it)
5 - Plug your Nexus 10 in your PC
6 - Turn USB Debugging on (Settings --> About Tablet --> Press many times Build Number --> Developer Options --> On --> USB Debugging)
7 - Open a cmd in your PC and go to your adb/fastboot folder, then type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
(When the screen turns on you type) fastboot boot recovery.img
Wait for it to turn on and then click install, select the SuperSU.zip and then confirm. Then it's done . If you can't get this way working you can try one of the many tools in the Development thread. I'm sure one will work with you .

Issues with rooting (4.4), stuck after flashing recovery
I just got my Nexus 10, and unlocked the boot loader, then flashed the custom recovery. All was fine, and I could boot into recovery, however recovery can not mount any filesystems. So I rebooted, now the Nexus does not boot, but hangs on the intro animation, normally meaning in my experience that the kernel is looped and is no longer finding (or else) booting the OS. I've tried booting 3 times.
So then, the steps I took,
enable USB debugging
were copy over the zip file for supersu
reboot to (fastboot mode), verify device
unlock boot loader "fastboot oem unlock"
flash the recovery "recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-manta"
reboot into recovery
Failed to mount filesystems
for instance "E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command or E:Can't mount /sdcard .... (you get the idea).
rebooting again a leaving it does nothing.
I also tried side loading a new image in my case "ThunderKat_manta-KRT16S-20131201" and after installing the "UniversalAdbDriverSetup", I was able to do so, I also was also able to side load the google apps "GoogleAppsPack-4.4-20131128", in both cases I get a success message after the install, however there after when I attempt to reboot I'm still stuck looking at the boot animation.
Now I'm really confused as if if the OS was destroyed when I unlocked the device, then side load of the zip contains a new kernel and OS image so it should be working, but it is not. In fact, recovery while still working throws the same can not mount exceptions after the flash as it did before (I rebooted) as I was previously getting and a factory reset, fails to mount /data, but does flash /cache and sd-ext without issues, so again I'm lost as to what to do.
Best guess I have is that partitions such as /data are just missing, I have no idea the state of teh device in such a case, but recovery and side loading using adb are working, how do I recover a working ANDROID OS from here?
Thanks,
ERIC
stuck in loading screen
Hi,
i just got my Nexus 10 yesterday. I tried to root it, but it is stuck in the loading screen. What can i do now? Can i like undo it to get it back to work?
I have the same issue egandt described.
Edit: I just got it back with this tutorial to android 4.2.2 and now i am updating it back up
nexus10root.com/nexus-10-unroot/how-to-unrootunbrick-nexus-10-factory-firmware/
I unlocked nexus10,
Flashed cwm,
Installed su, but whn i turned it on, su not found, rootchecker shows no root access..
I also encounter bootloop initially,
Need to wide data / factory reset then its normally booted..
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Agreed the factory reset was required to fix the issues I encountered, then installing super-su worked.
I still cannot root the Nexus10..
Any one can help?
Thanks in advance!

Many thanks for the detailed explanation, bro!
Still got following questions:
So do I need to enable "USB Debugging" 1st before unlocking Bootloader?
Although I successfully installed SuperSU, but still lack of SU power, those apps required SU access are not working at all.
the kitkat poisons me... sigh...
Thanks again!

If you are going to follow the commands he listed in step 7 then yes you need to enable "USB Debugging" before you go ahead and unlock the Bootloader. Installing SuperSU alone will not give you root access, you need to flash the SuperSU .zip file in recovery as the end of step 7 mentions to properly gain root access. If your still confused about anything or have any questions let me know I'll be happy to help you .

Thanks for your kind offering of hands!
Last night I tried again to re-flashed latest TWRP as well as latest SuperSU.
I ran 2x Root Checker,
1 said rooted,
1 said no root access, no BusyBox available.
I tried some apps like GMD Gesture, no working or no root access.
So,
Should I redo everything: enable USB Debugging then unlock bootloader then flash CWM then install SuperSU?
I initially gone thru above steps w/o enabling USB Debug..
Many thanks!

Download the appropriate factory image, extract it, boot to bootloader and flash everything using fastboot commands/execute the .bat file IF you're running Windows on your computer.

Very much appreciated for reviving my nexus!
However, after flashing latest TWRP, and installed SuperSU 1.80,
It seems my nexus still unrooted.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Do you have SuperSU in your app drawer? If so, open it and see if you have to update the SU binaries. If not, try flashing the SuperSU zip again.

If it's needed the app will say so when you open it.

Sigh..
Seems still 'unrooted'.
Any other ways to get it done?
Thanks!

Try to find an older firmware version that can be flashed with Odin. Usually system updates patch exploits commonly used by one-click root apps, and only an older build will fix the issue. Hope this helps.

I also couldn't root my device (galaxy core prime g361h) until i used TWRP and SuperSU, i tried those crappy one click roots none of them worked for me,TWRP and SuperSU are powerful.
First flash TWRP on your device using Odin then flash SuperSU using TWRP

Okay thanks ☺
Hello sir
Follow my steps for successful TWRP/ROOT
1.)Download and install Samsung USB Drivers
2.)Download TWRP 3.0.2.0
3.)Download Odin
4.)Download SuperSU.zip file
For download links message me or add me on facebook facebook. com/fRoD.cs
After you complete this 4 steps shutdown your phone and enter into Download Mode
Volume Down + Power + Home
Select continue by Volume Up key
Now connect phone with usb cable into pc and run Odin as administrator
Click on AP box and select the twrp.tar file you download before
Go to Options tab and uncheck Auto Reboot, make sure that only F, Reset Time is checked and click start
After successfully installed TWRP , remove the battery, put it back and make sure that you go into recovery mode immediately!!! Volume Up + Power + Home
If you boot up the phone it will restore the original recovery. Thats why you need to go to recovery mode first.
First time you boot in recovery it will be shown a TWRP screen asking to allow modifications to system partition. Swipe to accept that.
Now select Install option and select SuperSU.zip file. By default it should be in Download folder, and swipe to start install
After installing click reboot and your SM-G361F will be rooted. You should have SuperSU app in the menu
