G-Stylo and Stylo 2... - LG G Stylo Guides, News, & Discussion

Just curious, Since both phones have very similiar specs, (Board, cpu, gpu etc....) would it be safe to say that these 2 devices are essentially the same?
If so, would the rooting and custom recovery methods used on the G-Stylo work on the Stylo 2?

[Q] Question about S4/ S5 ROMs

This may be a stupid question, but I'm a newly converted Apple-Android would-be developer so I apologize in advance if the answer is obvious.. I was looking at the processors for the S4 and the S5 and they're both Qualcomm Snapdragons, but just different models. Based on that, it seems they should be able to run the same ROMs (at least the S5 should be able to run S4 ROMs) but from what I've seen they don't seem interchangeable. So my question is, can my GS5 run a ROM developed for the S4 or is there something deeper than just the processor model that determines the kind of ROM that can be run on it?

No, different cpu, gpu, bootloader. It could maybe be ported to the S5 but you can`t flash a original S4 rom on a S5 or vice versa.

Thanks. I'm used to there being a standard on hardware for PCs whereas I guess there isn't one for Android phones. It just seemed odd to me that ROMs have to be rewritten or ported for every particular phone.

Can I use SM G360H roms on SM G360T1?

I have noticed that a majority of all the roms belong to SM G360H variants, why is that. Does it matter if the phone is SM G360T1 when flashing a G360H rom that much. Finally, since all the phones are a Galaxy Core Prime variant, with little differences among all, the same processer architecture, and the same amount of ram, they all should work, right?

No it won't work. Yeah we almost have the same specs, but it's not identical. Come to think of it why would Samsung gave us different Model numbers if we have identical devices right?

LG Stylo 3 Root?

Is there a current way to root the Lg Stylo 3 not the plus, but if there is a way to be able to root the phone it would be greatly appreciated if you can leave some methods below or help regarding the topic that would be great!
Thanks for taking your time reading this forum!
Is there a root available for Stylus 3. M400DK (dual sim) Indian variant? I found one at a really nice price but wanna make sure what my limitations will be with the device..

processor

Move if needed, I have a Samsung galaxy s7 Qualcomm. I already know that I do have a Qualcomm processor from rooting , and firmware files I have used , but still I get some apps thinking that my processor is an exynos processor , but shows as this after I am rooted ,any ideas or ways we can use exynos firmware as we still may never get our bootloafers unlocked or some way of installing other roms or firmware by dual boot or multiboot

Should I switch from my A40 to a Note 4?

My A40 has been crap recently (can't install ROMS etc.) And the newest note phone that has a simple bootloader is the Note 4 I have a Note 3 and the experience is great on it. So should I get a Note 4?

It's a good phone but:
as there are many posts about emmc failure of these devices I wouldn't have bought it knowing that in advance.
You never know when it happens and have no chance to avoid it.
If you can get it cheap, it might still be worth it as some guys offer repairing/resoldering it.
Don't take N910V Verizon, as these are very hard to flash TWRP/custom ROM onto it.
N910C with Exynos CPU are said to be faster than N910F Snapdragon but not that well supported with custom ROMs.
