screen protector - Armorsuit VS IQ Shield VS Zagg (Glass) - What is the best? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello everyone
I have a feeling that these are the best screen protectors on the market (am I wrong? I read hundreds of reviews..)
Of the three I mentioned in the title.. What do you think best screen protector?
Can you also information why? And specify a specific model?
Thanks!!!

TGSP - GPEL Version 2
- If you dont plan on using any case, then this is best option.
Screen protector : BestSkinsever
Case fit version (Glossy/Matte)
- This seems to better than skinomi and IQ Shield.

I would be happy more Comments :highfive:

Interested in this as well. Atm I have a foil that has been manufactured in Germany. Fits the screen perfectly, but doesn't feel as good as glass.

Zagg HD Dry would be my vote. No longer rubbery like they used to be (the one I had on my old Galaxy S2 was terrible), and it feels very much like glass. Also doesn't curl at the edges with a proper fitting cover. Also comes with a lifetime replacement guarantee.
Avoid all the glass protectors on curved screens. It doesn't matter how much they cost, they never fit correctly and raise on the edges resulting in touch screen issues until they're removed. They're a complete waste of money and I'm amazed people still bother with them.

Losing my temper with temperd glass

Anyone else having a time with the tempered glass protector? I just have says and tomes where it makes it non responsive.
Its affected your spelling too. Lol
I just put one of the icarez 0.2mm ones on tonight. So far touch responsiveness seems about the same. No dead spots so far.
I have the iCarez 0.3mm tempered glass protector and it isn't giving me any issues. If anything I think it's made the capacitive screen a little too responsive as I'm noticing just brushing the screen while it's off is activating the KnockOn at times.

Definitely affecting some part of the screen. I have ordered and going back to standard film screen protectors. My colleague has done so and the touch issue is gone after ditching glass protector.

The icarez ones are only $10 or $12 depending on thickness. Not exactly a huge expense.
i have SGP Nano Glass and I have zero issues with it... Which one do you have?
I have the icarez .3mm one too and don't have any issue. I think I'd have preferred the .2mm once just so I don't feel it as much at the cutout piece at the top, but I'm happy with the .3mm one.
Some guys in the German Android Forum have the same problems
No matter which brand the Protector came from.
But only after using the glass protectors a week ore more
Zero Responsive in Games for example
Without Protector or a Film-Proctetor no problems at all.

I bought it because I wasn't sure if I wanted to get the case from them or amazon, but feeling how it is a little odd in the hands (coming from a Galaxy Nexus with a case on at all times) I at least wanted to protect the screen.

I don't think these ones cover the curved display.
Skinomi Blackberry Priv screen protector is a great alternative to glass. I honestly don't mind having it for now until I could find a glass shield that really fits.. IMO, it would be difficult for Manufacturers to come up with glass one due to the curvature of the device.
I'm more amazed that people aren't opting for, you know, a PRIVacy screen protector (I couldn't resist). Acurved glass one to top that would be awesome.
It would only make logical sense this way.
Just tried SupershieldZ works really well. Edge to edge covering.

I have had clear coat (non glass) and black ice (glass) I prefer the feel of glass over the other screen protectors as its smooth the others all have a bit of "sticky" feeling or resistance, glass feels truest to the original screen.
But the main selling point for me on black ice (I sell cell phones) is its scratch proof, I can take keys to it with no issue. Heck I would stab my phone with a scissors to show customers how strong it was. I had 2 screens break with clear coat, falling from table hight or less. I dropped my g3 off the top of an 8foot. Ladder and it hit the ladder on the way down, cracked the black ice, phone was fine. Also black ice has a warranty, if it breaks you get a replacement for 10 bucks.

Tempered glass screen protectors offer a level of protection. I can say from personal experiences that having tempered glass screen protectors on phones my wife and I have both owned saved us from screen replacements due to drops. The screen protector broken before the screen did.

Should I use a the Edge without a screen protector?

I really have troubles finding a good screen protector for the device since Im not living in 1st world countries. Chinese ones have the curved parts peeled off after 1 or 2 days.
I'm ordering armorsuit films on Amazon and it takes a month to deliver, should I put away the device and wait for the protectors delivery before using it?
Yes imo use one keeps resell value high

I had very bad experience with magnetic films (like Spigen one) on curved screens (s6 edge), the sides dont stick at all. The Armorsuit protectors work better since it is sillicon-like films (soft) with an abrasive layer to make sure it sticks, it has self healing to.

Not a fan of screen protectors on curved screens. Had a 920 back in the day (granted screen protector tech has come a long way) but i tried for a few weeks and then took it off.
Dont use them on any phone now, really all it does is stop scratches (which dont happen frequently with new gorilla glass).
If you want drop protection get a good case.
My s6 edge has some scratches after 3 days, though they're not deep but still leave minor distortions on screen which annoys me very much
I ordered the Ultimate shields and they work fine for me. Dificult to install tho

Been going case free since my Note 3 and protector free since my note 4. My Note 4 did get a scratch on the screen but I just couldn't stand the tempered glass protectors' terrible fit on the Note 4 and 5 and the soft protectors felt like crap when using the stylus... I'm not fond of the glare so I've got a Matte Skinomi screen protector on the way for the screen and one of their front and back film kits to just apply to the back side (it wasn't available in matte, hence the two orders)... We'll see. If I do end up getting a case it'll only be on the phone when I'm working in the garage or doing working on finishing my basement.

in my opinion
I have been using gadgetshieldz protectors for a while now. Very good protection in my opinion. Protects the curved edges both on the front as well as back. Ordered one for my edge 7 and mine is on the way now. I have been using their textured skins too on my OP2 and they are fantastic. Exactly the same as the Dbrand ones.
Have a skinomi front and back protector with a symmetry case. Applied perfect but the case is now picking the corner up ruining the protector. I think I'm going to just rock it without a protector

Illumi Aquashield
I highly recommend the screen protector called Illumi Aquashield. I have purchased a lot (no really, a lot!) of glass and non-glass protectors over the past few years, primarily for phones with curved screens. This one always tops the list. I just had mine arrive today for my S9+ (don't have the phone yet). It is a wet install, but I can say it is extremely clear, smooth to the touch, self-healing, non-peeling. I am too new a user to post the Amazon link, but just search for Illumi Aquashield S9+

Mate, biggest con going. Most of the videos you'll find are sponsored. Look a bit deeper and you'll find scratch test ones where they have left half of the screen untreated, the other half treated. There was little difference between the two halves. They both scratched.

Another vote for IQ Shield. Tried a cheap glass tempered screen protector but lost much sensitivity and high glare.
+1 for Dendrobates. I had it on my S8 and it was the best. I've had skinomi, IQ shield, Zagg, Spigen, and ArmorSuite. All those had that wet apply grippy feel I do not like. Plus after a couple weeks you could tell the clarity was not that good. Once I put on the Dendrobates you could feel the difference. It had that Glass like feel where it was so smooth and the clarity also that of a glass protector without all that added bulk. I had that on for about 2 months and the clarity never diminished as those of the others. So as soon as Dendrobates comes out w/ a S9+ varient im on it.

Screen Protector options

I'm just jumping from the Moto x4 to S9 Plus
My protector option is one from the ************. I really love to have my S9Plus away from the scratches. As I'm having previous experience with the ************so I'm suggesting to get one from them.
They started shipping but I didn't got mine. Have you bought one from them and received it??
I bought the one from BigBen. Fit perfectly. No problem after 1 week. Just improve screen sensitivity.
I just installed the Whitestone Dome Glass on my S9+. Very easy to install and looks great so far. It doesn't seem to be compatible with the Spigen case I bought though, particularly the lower portion, I'm going to let the glue cure a bit longer and try it again.
UPDATE: I had the dome glass installed just a bit too low on the screen. I removed the glass and adhesive, then reinstalled and made sure the dome glass was correctly centered on the screen. Works great with the case now. Highly recommend this.
Bodyguardz is a more expensive option, but lifetime warrenty. I want to say it's about 10 bucks shipping for the warrenty replacements. I got mine at AT&T when I got my s9 plus yesterday. They installed it for me but it comes with a guide thingy like the Whitestone one.

https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-S9-Pl...rotector+for+Samsung+S9+Plus+(S9+Plus,+Black)
Amazon.com link above. $9.00
Got this on Amazon.ca for under $15 CAD, it's curved, applied with zero bubbles and it works really good after raising the screen sensitivity.
Just installed the whitestone dome, I simply couldn't be more impressed. Make sure you watch the installation video a couple of times before applying… but it is hands down the only protector i will be buying from now on for all of my devices.
http://www.amazon.com/Dome-Glass-Protector-Dispersion-Whitestone/dp/B079YF5VS7
Otao case friendly
I got the Otao case friendly version for the S9 Plus from Amazon.com (ASIN: B07BSFLLKY). Rather than give a separate review here, this is what I have added as my review on Amazon. I hope this is allowed.
I had the Otao on my S8 and was very happy with it. On one occasion I dropped my phone. The screen protector cracked, which is what you would expect from a glass screen protector, but it saved the screen of my phone.
I was a bit wary when I read the first reviews of the S9 Plus version (which had a different ASIN number) but then I heard they were updating it. They reached out to me to offer me to try the new one (free of charge) which I just received. The main complaint about the previous version was not enough glue on the edges (it is edge only sticking) but the new version apparently has more glue and it certainly has stuck well on my S9 Plus. Obviously, the proof of the pudding will be it it still sticks well after it has been on a while and I will update my review if it develops a problem.
The installation tray makes it very easy to instal.
I am using it with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case and they fit together very well.
As I said, I did not have to pay for the protector but this review is my honest opinion and, if I did not like it, I would have said so.
Just to add - the packaging recommends turning on the touch sensitivity setting in Settings but so far I haven't found that necessary.

Does the glue cover entire surface of the screen or only the edges?
I’m looking for one that covers the entire screen most I’ve seen only covers partial off the top and bottom so it still looks like there’s a screen protector. I need fill coverage from top to bottom.
Another vote for the whitestone dome!
I've tried several tempered glass screen protectors since the S6+, and they all suck because the adhesive has trouble sticking to the edges so the sensitivity is terrible. The dome is the first I've used that I'm legitimately happy with.
The installation process is really intimidating at first because the process is different from your typical screen protector. But once you do it once and get the technique down, it's actually pretty fool-proof. The tray basically ensures that the alignment is perfect and adheres well. I happened to screw up the first time because my table wasn't fully level and the adhesive didn't disperse evenly and I got a tiny bubble...so don't take that little detail for granted. Luckily they give you two bottles of adhesive, and when I moved to a level counter and put it on a second time the adhesive spread perfectly on its own and it was really easy.
