Dear friends, Asus has no plan to update zenfone max for VoLTE. They have given final confirmation. Do not pray from the dump company.

Asus is the worst company I have ever deal with regarding their customer satisfaction wherever possible.
So, I recommend you to not deal with Asus in India specifically.....

no waste of thinking about asus go to mi 3//4

I got VOlte on my Asus Zenfone Max

After the recent update which added volte to this phone, it is now stuck in booting. Have restarted few times, but still shows the ASUS logo and loading circle under it for hours. I have not enabled USB debugging, so adb and fastboot would not work. Is factory reset the only option?
I would like to know if I can get my data by any means?

if you are able to go to recovery, then try the below--
download the full new firmware from the asus site as per your cpu, for sd 410 download 13.8.26.76 and for sd615 download 13.8.26.80, then copy it to the memory card using computer or card reader.
Insert the card in the phone,
then go to recovery on phone by press power button + volume down button together.
From there select update by sd card (memory card) and select the update zip file (the full firmware) and flash it from there.
It may solve your problem, also remember to charge your phone to more than 50 percent before doing this.

you can also do the update firmware by fastboot method using a pc or laptop and a good data cable,
fastboot and adb will work also work in bootloader mode or fastboot mode.

Question about Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL

Hi,
my "old" moto g 2014 broke few days ago and now i need a new smartphone.
Since i can spend max 200€ there are really few options and i was thinking about hte Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL [the one with the Snapdragon 410] (200€ here)
But I know no one who has it and i have lot of question:
can i root it? there is a "scene" support?
It has a "cheap plastic" feel?
How long the battery last?
Is the screen good enough?
Any downside?
It's weak?
it's "scratch-friendly"?
You will suggest another phone?
Thanks a lot!

Root for now will be hard because I can't access the bootloader. Probably needs other root methods that aren't discovered yet. It actually has a premium feel to it and has good build quality. Battery life is good. I keep my mobile data on + smart power saving feature and it really helps. It has Gorilla Glass 4 which is the latest I think. But still it's better to add screen protection to be sure. As per performance it's all smooth on light to moderate tasks with occasional stuttering when having 5+ apps open. (Probably due to killing some tasks to free RAM)
I plan on creating custom ROMS and kernels for myself if we get to unlock it's bootloader but I can release it if there's not enough devs.
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I thought root would have been easy since Asus released the kernel source.
Sad to be wrong.
Ram could not gave me more problem then my old Moto G since it has double the amount. My worries were more about the Zen UI being laggy (I always used cyanogenmod and nearly stock android, I have no experience with custom UI)
There are different phone you suggest for the same price tag or this is one of the best in his range?
Thanks!
Zen UI is no laggy, it works very well.
Yes as much as ASUS puts bloatware zenui is smooth. And you can also uninstall/disable preloaded apps. For me the only downside on ze500kl is we don't know how long it is gonna get updated and how development will progress. Other than that it is a solid buy. I also thought it's gonna be easy to develop because of released kernel sources but still we can't place a custom kernel in it without flashing.
Pulling it out of my ass, but can we dump boot.img and recovery.img? The bootloader is locked?
Trough adb we can boot a custom recovery without flashing (adb boot myrecovery.img) and if we get a really simple recovery to work we can push supersu.apk in System and get root access.
I read that other People rooted others snapdragon 410 using this way
unable to find any recovery.img in full firmware or in kernel.
not able to pull from adb.
at present we have no custom recovery, neither any developer seems to help
I'm not really expert in android devolopmente but i'll take a look when i'll get it
we will wait
I'll ask here to not make a new topic.
Someone with a ze500kl can make an Antutu benchmark?
Thanks a lot!

recovery is a patched boot.img, and the patch is present in OTA package. (at least in 118)
although I can't ensure manual patched recovery is same as in phone,
it can directly boot from bootloader and is no need to flash.
recovery is attached. (it's not a flashable zip)

Redmi Note 4G Dual Sim?? What Official ROM to install??

So I bought a used Xiaomi Redmi Note, it says its 4G and Dual Sim but only has 1 GB of RAM
Firmware seems fake because it looks like MIUI v6 or v7 but actually its just a skin and has miui v5 apps or maybe i dont know
anyway first time connecting to wifi resulted in a massive attack of notifications and i was constantly asked to install apps and i had really weird apps on my homescreen like sexy videos and stuff like that
factory reset, good luck it is already rooted, my brother sent me link2sd via BT and i uninstalled all bloat and viruses, but I want to flash an official rom or developer rom and I cant seem to find any 4g dual sim global firmware version
my device is: Xiaomi Redmi HM Note 1S CU
A link with a good latest stable ROM and flash instructions would be nice
Well i took another look in about my device and looked at my current rom, seems to be the china version so im downloading latest from official miui website, lets hope it will work
Its hmnote1s_something KHKCNCl
If you have a doubt about the authenticity of your device , post pictures of it , front and with back cover open , then maybe someone can help you get the right rom.

i found these pictures online, its basically the same phone
only mine has some other data inside it like:

this is the phone with all its specs: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&...e_1s_dual_sim_td-lte_8gb_2014912_xiaomi_gucci
another big problem is now its HARD HARD bricked, i mean mi flash tool not working, mi pc suite not working, flashing rom via cmd, flashing custom recovery via cmd, all fails, gets stuck at flashing tz.mbn
also in cmd i get these errors:
FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>>
FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
I'm guessing you got a fake. Maybe a redmi or redmi 1S, as those are dual sim with 1GB RAM--but no 4G. You probably hardbricked it by flashing a note bootloader. There is no xiaomi note 4g with dual sim.
well its not fake, with this website it said its a genuine xiaomi device http://www.mi.com/verify/
these are the specs http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&...e_1s_dual_sim_td-lte_8gb_2014912_xiaomi_gucci
and i flashed this http://en.miui.com/download-218.html#370
even if it says redmi note 4g dual sim china the zip file says redmi note 1s http://bigota.d.miui.com/V7.1.1.0.KHKCNCK/miui_HMNote1S_V7.1.1.0.KHKCNCK_19d57ac436_4.4.zip
is there any way i can flash the original redmi note 1s bootloader to repair the device?
i tried flashing philz recovery but for any fastboot command i get errors like FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>> and FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
same problem ..l already flash with fastboot n mitools..it still same.. the problem is from the emmc..

What i have right now is xiaomi note 4g and its dual sim, it is real. I am using rom i download in en.miui.com/download. I pick rom from xiaomi note single sim 4g global or ch8na they work well until now. My phone physic is similar to the picture above. If u want to see if ur xiaomi redmi note is real, look ofr number behind the box and type it in mi.com to see ur devuxe is real or fake. I type mine, it says genuinely xiaomi or registered device

[PLK-UL00] Official ROM B352

Hello
I've managed to download an update for B201 to MM B352, using a Chinese proxy.
If anyone wants to play with it, just download it from here:
https://mega.nz/#!wwMTFTjS!1z9xygbiNTO66_zkwxOHtw9SLI_EQVTRzUZU-kh2BSo
Save it on internal storage or SD and go to Settings -> Updater -> Menu -> Local Update to apply it.
This is *not* an update to be applied using TWRP or 3btn method.
When I installed it my phone was using stock recovery, bootloader was unlocked and it was not rooted.
After installing it everything works fine, TWRP works fine, but it will stop working after installing SuperSU.
Not sure why.
So, right now, I'm back to Lollipop B201, which is geat.
UPDATE: using SYSTEMLESS install for SuperSU I was able to install it.
Now I have everything working, including notifications.
Regards.

Yes, I have the same problem, but after installing SuperSU
You have to use fastboot mode and run multi-tool unbrick method.
I have stock rom, with stock recovery. How can i do? How can put the Phone in fastboot mode?
i'm still blocked from that day. with a phone that doesn't go in fastboot and remain with the honor logo.
but a full firmware of marschmallow?
Is this *REALLY* meant for UL-00?
Hi there
Efforts much appreciated mate ...
Looking at all the bootlooped replies - is this firmware *really* meant for the PLK UL-00 (India version)?
OTA doesn't show any B352; nor does the official websites... B341 seems to be the latest firmware for the Indian variant.
So .... Just wondering - is it some typo ? Is this meant for some other variant of Honor 7 ? CL-00 maybe? ... Even the older B201 you have mentioned in the OP - isn't among the firmware builds that the Indian UL-00 has come through... i think.
--
Would be nice to see some changelog or a screenshot or something
--
If it is a typo error, please do change it in the title.
Hi
There are two variants of version UL00, C17 from China and C675 from India.
I have the one from China, it's dual SIM.

Hey I have got the Indian Version B341. I just wanted to share a problem that I am facing.
My phone is slow charging due to update perhaps. Earlier the phone used to charge really fast now it takes more than 2 hours and sometimes even close to 3 hours.
I have tried Hardware Reset but was not of much help.
Has anyone solved this problem. Btw I am using 5V2A charger, supplied with the device, which took very little time to charge earlier. And also when the phone is switched off it charges really fast but the phone heats up a lot.

The firmware in the phones we got (the single SIM Indian variant of UL00) does indeed say C675 - I just checked after your screen shot.

Replace PLK-UL00 Chinees version with PLK-L01 EU version
Hi,
did anyone try to replace the PLK-UL00 Chinese version with PLK-L01 EU version, is this possible without bricking the phone ?
I have rooted my PLK-UL00C17 (Dual SIM) with TWRP 3.0.2.0 Recovery for PLANK, running build PLK-UL00_6.5.16 from 1 May 2016, Titanium Backup and SuperSU Free v2.62
I tried to get rid of the Chinese stuff, but no luck, it keeps popping up everywhere.
So is it possible to replace the Chinese firmware / ROM with the EU firmware / ROM ?
Thanks,
This update bootlooped my phone and now I can't fix it.. £200 paperweight now

Zenfone 3 Network Interface - Wifi Disconnected for Some Apps

Hi,
Just want to ask if the following are the standard network interfaces for our Zenfone 3 ZE520KL? Using the app "Ping & Net" it shows I have around 4 network interfaces. The reason I'm posting is I am not sure the reason when VIber, WhatsApp & Yahoo Mail apps are in disconnected mode over wifi because of these interfaces. Checking my/our other phones there is no dummy0 when using "Ping & Net" app.

Hi kenthko,

Well, my device has all 4 interfaces. Try to factory reset and retest again.
Make sure you contact VIber so that you can backup the chats.

Thanks @Saktis_STi, ASUS is really making trouble for a lot of its customers, right now I'm in a the market for 2 units to replace our old smartphones, I'm pretty much sure 70% I'm skipping ASUS branded phones for now. Only reason I'm considering ASUS would be their pure android offerings and the non-hybrid sim + sdcard trays for some new units they have, but again I will have to check their reviews.

And guess what, most of the issues are fixed on custom ROMs. This clearly shows that ASUS is good with hardware but not in software

Did you unlock the bootloader unofficially?
If yes, just flash .55 RAW (it is in my unlocking thread).
After downgrading, you will receive a new OTA (.62) with WiFi bugs.
For rooting, please flash TWRP>Flash Magisk>Reboot.

Backup
Backing Up EFS
1. Extract the downloaded zip and navigate to EVS_VOLTE/Tool folder.
Shift+Right Click, Open Command window here
2. Connect Phone to PC
USB Debugging must be enabled, and USB port must be working fine. Also keep 70%+ battery while doing.
Once connected, type the following commands
adb devices
adb shell
su
(Grant Root Permissions in phone)
setprop sys.usb.config diag
OR if doing the above doesnt work, do this after rebooting phone
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Do not disconnect phone.
3. Backup EFS using QPST
Follow the steps in the images.
Open QPST Configuration utility, click on start clients, backup and select file name and location to backup.
Note: Your phone must be detected in port, else you need to repeat steps 1,2.
Click on Start to backup.
It will take 3-10 mins, and wait till 100%. Do not disconnect in between.
Also do not share your backup with anyone else, it contains your IMEI, macs etc.

Flashing
Flashing EFS
Extract the zip, and go to EVS_VOLTE folder.
Connect phone to PC and just double click INSTALL.cmd and follow the instructions.
Reboot the phone and voila!!

Gift For Indian Airtel Users
Actually this work belongs to @mmengi mostly.
@mmengi hardworked and made Volte working for Vodafone Turkey. He worked on this project for 4-5 months. And he never gave up.
@mmengi teached me how to extract volte files from efs and which files should i use.
I tried it with a friend from india (Vodafone_in user) but we didn't succeed for Vodafone_in
Amog wanted to try it with airtel india and it worked.
Most thanks goes to @mmengi
After that @amog787 because if he did not ask me for airtel volte, this didn't happen for airtel users. He is a great developer as he saw it will work with airtel.
I'm just an agent.

No, use BTLG/AEX. Support only for sane roms.
Also check Volte availability in you area and use only in sim slot 1.
check first post for SS
NOTE
if u guys are trying and ur mobile is not going in diag mode or gives error as "critical error.
The requested resource is in use"...then there are issues with ur com port ..try checking different ports of pc ...even then the issue persists then try with some other pc...it will surely flash .

It working correctly and those who get critical error try to disconnect and enter diagnostic mode again after rebooting.
Huge thanks to @amog787 @mmengi @agritux for their efforts. Kudos to them. This wouldn't have been possible without these guys.:good:
Works on Miui 10 MM ROM too.

Check whether Volte service is enabled by Airtel on your number. You have to call customer care and ask for start of Volte service. It's is not enabled by default by Airtel.
If you tell them you are using Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kenzo), they WILL NOT ENABLE volte on your number. Be careful while talking customer care.
Wow, great job!
is jio working in standby while we use airtel internet?
I use different custom rom, will this patch enable dual 4g standby?
