Redmi doesn't have Gyroscope. It's fake
Sent from my Redmi 3 using Tapatalk

Not fake, but emulation with using accelerometer and magnetfield sensor. You can prove it by using cardboard with magnet-button - gyroscope will lag

unlike Redmi 1s & 2, redmi 3 come with an problematic gyro & magnet thing & xiaomi daoesn't seem to be care enought to eihter fix & explain to redmi 3 user

It's not working. Try to open GPS Status&Toolbox/Sensors Diagnostics. Huge lag, then OS restart. Gyro entry is N/A.
Without the module entry shows at least some values.

ya same here.with the module gyroscope is not even responding in android sensor box.without the module its working perfectly

nvm

Redmi 3 doesn't have hardware gyro, the gyro is not working properly very unstable.
i tried this xposed module but not working at all

Fingerprint to sign in to apps

My previous phone was the Galaxy S6 and it allowed me to use my fingerprint to sign in to apps.
My nexus 6p doesn't. Is there a setting I need to enable to get this feature?
Here's a picture from my wife's gs6

Here's a screenshot from my nexus 6p
Notice how her galaxy s6 has three option to sign in using her fingerprint but mine doesn't?
How do I get the nexus 6p to allow this?
Both phones are running game through most recent version of the bank of America app.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Apps will have to be update to allow for nexus fingerprint. Samsung uses own proprietary app that BOA app was updated to work with. They will come eventually as more phones go to this method.
It says it right in the app description:
"Note: Fingerprint sign-in is currently only supported for select Samsung devices. We’ll be adding support for more devices in future releases."
Yea it sucks. Very slow adoption rate

Mostly because most still think it's a gimmick like 3d screens. Once it has been common place for a year or so you will see more adaption...if it lasts that long.

Question - Virtual Tour Camera Mode Gone?

Hi,
On my Galaxy S6 I have a camera mode which was also present onthe S5 too called "Virtual Tour" (don't get confused with Virtual Shot).
Now on the modes to download there's not there, but still for the S6.
Does someone knows how can I get it back?
Thanks!

Surround shot stays in just one place with a 360° view while virtual tour not only does that, also moves arround several sorround shots. It was really useful for me.
Here's an example of that mode: https://youtu.be/JxphLIrF_hE

FPC and Goodix Sensors: Explained!

FPC and Goodix are the two fingerprint sensor producing companies. Since Its entirely on making these sensors, they are hardware and not software. They have many clients using their fingerprint hardwares, and one of them is Xiaomi. Most of the traditional phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, if you know was the first device from Xiaomi to come up with the fingerprint feature.
It was powered by FPC in the few months, But later Xiaomi decided to step up the hardware and use the Goodix version, although there aren't any possible difference in unlocking speeds. So If you had owned the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in the first few sales, you are very likely to have the FPC version.
FPC or Goodix is Better?
Actually both the FPC and Goodix are good enough. The upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5, LG New Gram is all going to be equipped with FPC fingerprint sensor, and Huawei Mate 10, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 on Goodix. So there isn't any big advantage one over the other.
How to Check On your phone?
The one step process to check if your phone is having FPC or Goodix fingerprint sensor is to install apps that give you the details of your devices sensors. Install the app named 'AIDA64' from PlayStore and open it. Navigate to 'Devices' section and under Fingerprint Manufacturer, you will be able to see the version you are having on your phone.

I got the same problem just go to Sanaung internet browser, browse for Apk Mirror and search for Google Photoscan, download apk and then install it. Everything should be working fine after that.

Not worth the trouble right now?
I used Smart Switch to move it from my other phone, but as a lot of the reviews point out, you get better resolution just taking a high quality shot directly. Might be useful for some specific applications or if they improve it to use the multiple shots to enhance the resolution.
Or download apk pure, then install photoscan, thats what i did.
