Hi guys,
I had recently updated my firmware version on my Meizu MX5, and since then I haven't been able to send SMS messages with any SMS messaging app but system's own. I used to send and receive SMS using Contacts+ app, but now my messages are not sent anymore (even though it's set as default sms app).
I tried replacing my default sms app to system's default, and then back to Contacts+ but it didn't fix anything. I also tried to empty my messages log - but nothing has changed since.
Did someone experienced such bug and knows how to fix it?

I can confirm this bug. I also experience this issue. After upgrade I can receive text message on any sim (tested on three different apps).

Hi guys, i have this huge problem, i can't receive SMS. If i send them to myself there's no problem, but i can't receive them from another one
I've already tried changing phone and the sim works, so guess that's a problem with my SGS2. I've already tried changing modem too

Is there any app that might be interfering? You might try solving it by doing a backup of your data and a factory reset. As a last resort, you could try to flash a different firmware to see if the problem persist. Nevertheless, it is possible that there is a simple solution.

I'll try to do a CWM backup and restore it, but i guess that way it should be the same

3, from Italy, but it's not a carrier problem, sms receiving worked with a different phone
I had the same problem with mine a few weeks ago. Go to messaging>>press menu>settings>does your message centre have the correct #. I had to contact my carrier for mine.

I've deleted the stock SMS App with titanium, i'm using Go SMS Pro and i can see no settings like that

There are some apps which are intended to block sms spam or to send sms to groups, etc. An Anti-virus or something alike possibly could interfere, depending on how it works.
CWM will probably leave everything exactly as it is now. It is useful if you do a backup with the phone working properly, but in this case it wouldn't be helpful.

well then go to the go sms pro options and see if the number is right...
why would someone would want to change the stock app is beyond me...

Can you still receive and send sms/ text after you deleted mms.apk
try to freeze that apk with titanium backup and see if you can still send\receive SMS
the freezing option prevent the system from using the file without the risk of deleting it

..no if I'm right the sms functionality is included in the mms.apk.
You will have to install another sms app to receive/send sms again.

Is that mean I will not be able to receive or send text without installing another sms app? I just want to make sure that I or someone else cannot use my phone to send and receive text/sms. I want to permanently disable this function all together.

Yeah, i think if you delete the mms.apk you will get what you want.

Everytime I send a text message, it shows the pop up "Messaging is sending a large number of SMS".
And this pop up appears every single time I send a text message even when I did not reach the limit.
Previously when I was using official cm11, I was able to overcome this problem by going to the app info and changing the "send premium sms" option to always allow.
However in this rom, changing it does not make a difference. Whenever I go back to the app info page, it changes back to the ask option.
This is driving me crazy..
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

May be it is the firmware problem. Try to flash another rom/firmware.

Hi Guys,
This is the issue I am facing after Kitkat update.The phone sends automatic sms to some unknown number for every reboot or shutdown and the worst thing is that for every sms it takes away 1.50 Rs from my prepaid balance.
Anyone knows which culprit app is responsible for this issue?
I tried a lot searching my phone,I cudn't find any such.
Please let me know how to fix this issue.

Salestatistic and
Salestrack*
You need Root for that.
Also You can shut them down by modify build.prop lines:
ro.gn.oversea.salestrack.gi=yes
ro.gn.oversea.salestrack.gi=no
You should do both for safety.*
The messages are sent to

Also,for fun,You can change those numbers with any so the messages will Be sent to that number.
The messages contains phone imei,operator code and other things about phone.
The messages are being sent every time You power on your phone and yes,IT charges your phone bill.*

But the problem is solved for now.Dono how.No more issues with those apps.
Install without SIM, change the lines on buildprop, freeze the system apk's "salestrack" and "salestatistic" with Titanium backup or similar, and problem solved!!
Cant both apps be uninstalled? Or will that result in a mal function anywhere on the OS?

Fix for Gionee phones sending SMS without permission
Here is what you can do to fix this issue. This was provided to me when I called in Gionee Support.
1. WhatsApp "Hi" to this number : +91 8448895071
2. You will get two .apks from that number.
3. Install the two .apks and then reboot the phone.
According to the support person, it would take a couple of hours for the fix to work.

I am using a gionee S6s phone in Pakistan, this problem started when i upgraded to android 7.0. It kept sending sms again and again and every sms was charged me Rs: 20 (To India).
I found salestrack app and froze it with titanium backup, also edited build.prop. But i couldn't find salestatistic app.

So I recently got the mi 9t and it looks like my group messaging is messed up
I'm on T-Mobile, and on stock miui 10
Whenever anyone sends a group txt I get it but all replies are received as individual txt not under the group, not to mention I can't really reply to the group

Yeah I've been using Google messages app and still have this issue it's weird, I guess I'll just pay here if I ever find anything
Edit 1:So Textra turns out used to solve this issue on old miui devices and apparently still does, don't know why it "fixed" it but it works
Edit2: turns out that factory resetting while my sim was in it fixed it
