Enjoy!

This is amazing lol Finally, after all the requests, they released it

Would be great to hear which bugs are kernel releated and could be solved by our glorious devs

I could do a kernel for this phone

@Elephone1
Have you seen my issue on github ?

Brilliant news! Would this make any difference to things such as Android Pay etc?

Nope.

I thought the kernel was fake? Or at least it doesn't boot

Do you think this means the end of any new Stock ROMs / Kernels and Bugfix updates? Since Elephone is now able to say: do it by your own! :/? What is the next step.... Elephone releasing a Phone without OS?

New Stock-ROM is out

Update of the Kernel will be released.

New Kernel Source's

Hi friends. Can you check this kernel source's is real or useless?

This isn't a kernel source, it's a device tree for build CyanogenMod

We will see, it is very hard to port when kernel is not given. There are people working on it and doing a very good job!
Sadly, the complete kernel (custom kernel with drivers) was leaked for a short period and a few devs have it.. but they are afraid to use or publish it because they don't want to be sued.

Wow didnt know that, really the full source kernel was leaked??? And some devs have it D:?. If its true i hope they decide one day to make a nice ROM build, i guess everyone of us would wait for that

At least someone has it.. I am not so sure on how many have it. Don't be too excited yet, we might not get it (soon). The source can not just be published to the public, the one who does will face some problems.. (see what happened to incomplete source).

May i ask what happened?. And i know is not that easy, what i meant is that he (or they) could make a nice ROM build with that source, maybe as an anonymus guy or something like that, is not necesary to publish full source code. Our another hope is wait for MTK to release it , but it wont be soon, even could never happen

We can build roms ourselfs, just need proper kernel. Just let me say that much: I have a reliable source that told me someone has it. I don't think (anymore) it was leaked to the public ever, all kernel leaked on git were incomplete.
All kernel sources I've seen for X10 are not for our device. Another thing is the AOSP sources are very buggy and unfinished.
I finally made progress on my AOSP 5.1 and fixed the slow app launch (maybe you've seen one youtube video posted here - this is my build).
Unfortunately I don't have kernel source for Redmi Note 2 and it is impossible to build a custom kernel, so I'm trying to finish the ROM and will use prebuilt kernel.
If you think it is easy as porting, then you're wrong. Compiling something from source and fixing all bugs is completely different animal.
CM 12.1 also booted, but a lot of work needs to be done there too.

Check the date and please stop posting same thing again and again. This is the original broken half source that was leaked over 2 months ago now.

What is time to wake? On miui time is long :/ On our last phone (A820) time to wake is much better.
How aboute "tap to wake"? What is result on antutu? When you publish rom?
AOSP boots up and works faster than MIUI and also has much much better ram management, although it would be good if we could make a custom kernel.
Tap to wake normally needs to be supported in kernel, so the answer is "no".
Antutu score is irrelevant, but normally I get about 48K with the basic model. I've seen higher, seen lower.
It also depends on kernel.
Don't forget that for A820 I have a custom optimized kernel.
Hello
When you share rom? How to progress?

participate in this thread to get attention to cm13

to get attention to our mate 7 .. may get cm13
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/121707-huawei-mate-7-cm13-requset
there will be no custom roms until the kernel sources are released. at the moment only kitkat is available. i have been in communication with a huawei rep and he says he will communicate with huawei on releasing the kernel source. imho, i think we might get the LP kernel sometime soon. he has been able to get other kernels posted on huawei forums. ill contact him in a week to monitor the progress.
yes please develop CM13 for Mate 7 which come with default fingerprint support. Definitely will get better battery time and speed with CM13. like a lot customization from CM rom.
It would be more then great, when cm13 could come to our mate 7. ???
I'd love to see CM13 available with proper hardware support
If we could get Xposed on it as well, working properly, that would be awesome.
Don't forget we have two versions of Mate 7.
Please ask for support on CM forum, they must see our interest, I also give reply to that thread
we all would love cm13..... or cm12 for that matter but its not up to them. they can build a rom without the proper tools. in order for devs to build custom roms they need kernel sources which huawei has not been to good at releasing. so far it seems that only a small few even care about this.
i hope so

ahh gotcha. sorry got confused a bit.
We all want them. This is just an idea I had but I have been pushing for them on their GitHub. I think there was a problem with OOS 4.0, thus the sudden release of 4.0.1. That is the reason they haven't released the Nougat source yet, but hopefully they will once the OTA is fully rolled out. This build does seem a lot better performance wise than 4.0 with good battery life.

Lineage OS?

Do you think we will have a lineageos build for huawei nova?
That would be great, but first we need a rom base for any rom....
After my exams in february I would like to try porting Lineage OS to our huawei nova...but thats not a promise, it's an "Let's try and hope.."
Too bad there was not activity on this phone yet.
I really really hoped this gonna replace my Nexus 5 ( the >5 inch / 70cm width trend sucks - phones are just too big!) - but nooope..
I had it already in the hands, good that I didn't bought it. But I maybe would if someone would work on it
Once huawei releases kernel source I will start working on it.

Did they release those for previous phones too?
I figured since this is a snapdragon device the chance for roms will be much higher. Since they don't really release anything for their own chipsets iirc.

I think they released the kernel for many phones in the past..but you can also extract it from the stock firmware..so that shouldn't be a problem to build lineage for this device, but it takes time.. ?

Would be fun to see, but it will probably be as buggy if not more than the current N ROMs available.

I'm not a representative but i believe they've got some progress with Oreo (it boots now, but don't go and ask the developers if it is true, wait patiently).
Regarding bugs, I think Oreo might give a tough time just like Nougat when it was built on Marshmallow sources. But the development is much healthy now so I guess things will be much better now.
