To isolate the problem try measuring how much battery its using with things turned off. Wifi uses a lot of battery try disabling that and measuring how much difference it makes.
I had a similar issue where i would go to sleep and 40% of battery would be gone when i woke up. I disabled wifi and it used 2% instead during the night instead.
I have wifi off I never have on

I'm on custom rom based on stock 4.4.2. I have a confusion. My phone used to have better battery life but not much now. The battery app shows that 'android OS' has keep awake all the time. Is this normal? The stats have been attached.

You need to install a wakelock app to see what lock is the culprit. Android OS is a little too vague to figure out...
