No notification of text messages? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Recently my phone just stopped notifying me completely of texts and its really getting annoying. It doesn't matter if on loud or vibrate it doesn't do anything but show red number on the app from home screen, nothing in notification bar, no noise, no flashing lights, nothing on lock screen..... And yes I have gone through message settings and made sure its notification settings are how they should be. I'm puzzled and really not wanting to hard reset my phone. Any ideas?

Anyone?

Have you rebooted the phone, and not just power down and back on?

Are you using the stock text messaging ap
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

It is a bit weird. The AOD shows a text if I'm using stock app or even when I'm using Textra. But I'm using Google Messenger now and it doesn't show one. Could be app specific.

[Q] Quick Reply

Anyone know of a way to turn off the 'Quick Reply' dialog that opens for incoming sms? I use Handcent, so I never use it.
There's a quick reply dialog? Damn how do toy turn it on? That would be handy lol

It turns out that the quick reply dialog is part of handcent, and can be turned of in settings.

Stock SMS notification number

I'm just curious if there is a way to get rid of this number over the app. I'm trying to use a different SMS app and that number unless I missed it is no where in the settings to turn off.

Which specific app are freezing? Is it the LGMMS or VZWSMS APK?
Did you go into sms app then settings, then notification and uncheck all the boxes?

Remove the Icon from your screen drag it to the trash bin
After you uncheck notifications in setting. Open the last message you received. It will clear the number and you won't get them anymore until you activate notifications again.

Doesn't work for me only with stock apps. Only thing I hate about this phone and well annoying. Hard reset didn't fix the problem nor do any led apps

Using Whatsapp to configure the LED settings or using something like Lightflow? I had an issue with my Lightflow preferences which I solved by keeping the Notification Light toggle on but disabling all of the specific notifications LG set. It almost seems like a conflict between Whatsapp (or other app) and the stock LG Notification Light settings.

Yeah its really annoying me. I have no idea what to do as a factory reset doesn't fix the problem and all settings are correct.

Hi guys,
For those who want to use led notification, here are what you should do:
1. Make sure your WA is the most updated
2. Go to WA->Setting->Notifications->Light
3. Choose your desire light color, only red, green, and blue color you can chose cause that the colors supported by G2

Very Odd, just a guess maybe something related to root!!
Why not take the phone back and get a replacement

Lte icon won't go away

Can anyone tell me why my LTE icon will not go away. Did I enable something in settings? It wasn't that way until about a week ago.

My wife's has the same issue, and I have compared the deepest settings. I am a geek FWIW. I haven't tried rooting and/or reset though.

I don't know if this is why or not, but I always have a LTE symbol anymore, even on WiFi it doesn't go away. However it wasn't always like this. I noticed it happen immediately after my trial ran out for the Verizon caller id and I agreed to purchase it for 3 bucks a month. Once I did that I noticed I started getting the LTE symbol always. I just assumed it's normal because of caller Id?
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I would say not. Neither of us has purchased the caller ID app.

Just disabled that caller ID App and now it's gone. Weird.

It's the caller ID app that causes it. Disable it or if your rooted delete it.
