Tether Question - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Hi I root my phone yestarday and after that I don't see tether in settings. Is there a way to make tether work after rooting?

I had the same problem. Reflash a stock firmware, then reflash the engboot, and re root. Worked great for me.

Try this apk for activate Hotspot..install app. Opened and find Hotspot activate. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762635997878

I broke down and bought FoxFi. However, I can only connect using USB tethering, not wifi.

[Q] Wifi tether apps

Hi everyone, I'm looking for an app or a way that I can use my vzw galaxy Nexus to tether my nexus 10. I've used my gnex to tether a Xoom and other phones but can't get it to work with the 10. Btw, both are rooted.
Any one have any suggestions?
Have you tried wifi tether? What are you using to tether atm thats not working on N10?

I use both wifi tether and foxi fi neither one are working. They work with my lap top and foxifi used to work with the xoom.
Two thoughts
1. Make sure you Nexus in not set to 5gh WiFi only and see if that helps.
2. Isn't Verizon tethering now free? I don't use Verizon so I am not 100 percent sure. If I am right check and see if it works with their app.
Good luck.

Wifi tether for rooted users

Has anyone got this apk to work for the note 3? Is It Possible? I just want a tether apk that tells me the amount of data that's being used and this one is the only one I know of that does that correctly.

What one?

Which one? I can only get the native to work on my note three bypassing it with the hotspot toggle switch widget found on the market, but I rather use the a different one like open garden. but I have no luck making it work.
The apk wifi tether for rooted users. I used it on my Nexus

the only reason i root is to use this app and ive had zero luck with it in the note 3. There is an issue thread on the google code page for it but seems a dead end

I found you can use wifi tether in native tether mode, but it resets the hot spot settings to default every time you turn it on. I, too, would like it to work properly because I like seeing how much data I use and the network speed.

Is there any risk in using native tether app? I am coming from tmobile, where they'd hassle you to get a tethering plan.

Any Solutions That Work for WiFi Tether

I can confirm the FoxFi does not work. The minute the phone recognizes there is bandwidth going to the connected devices it shuts down the feed and gives you the VZW nasty gram.
Has anyone got anything working?

Used to use portable wi-fi hotspot and just ignore the not subscribed message and it worked on the SGS4. It doesn't seem to work on here though.
unfortunately it looks like root is our only option once it comes out

Works perfectly however it will require a pin unlock all the time or installing certificates and uninstalling after done.

I just leave an easy 4 digit pin on all the time. Not worth the hassle of disabling and re-enabling it all the time.
I have to say I am fine with the 4 digit pin as a trade off... definitely not ideal... but I will take it in exchange for a working hotspot.

WiFi tether without root?

My buddy has a GS4 on Sprint and he has been unable to get the WiFi tether to work without paying extra for it. He doesn't want to unlock/root it. Is there a workaround without root?

Have you checked out FoxFi/PdaNet? Depending on the software level the phone is on, one or the other should work.
http://foxfi.com/
Foxfi doesn't work, pdanet won't help as we need WiFi tether for the Chromecast.
Thanks though

I'm also curious about this. It seems that the KitKat update has broken most of the apps that were previously recommended, including FoxFi. Any ideas?
Foxfi has been fixed with KitKat.

Which version? I tried using 2.16.2. When I try to start the hotspot, I see this:
Hotspot Error
You are not subscribed to the Hotspot service. Do you want to see subscription options?
Cancel OK
No matter which option I pick, it never works. Thoughts?

I also tried the newest version of PdaNet, which I found out is basically also FoxFi. No luck there either.
Any other ideas?
Try Klink. Works great for me.

Oh. I think of a physical connection when someone says "tether". My apologies sir.
Now I'm thinking WiFi Hotspot. I obviously don't know what I'm talking about, so I'll bow out.

Bluetooth not working, probably after rooting

Hi guys,
Somebody has happened something similar to me, BT stopped working after rooting?
I did factory reset. I haven't tried Odin back to stock yet.

Mine is working also without issue. It doesnt have anything to do with root.
Go into app manager and find the 2 bluetooth apps and clear the data and restart your phone. See if that helps

If you are attempting to use bluetooth headphones and the above method does not work, when you turn on the headphones continue to hold the power button after they turn on, and in a few seconds it will wipe the paired devices and allow you to pair again. (Happened with my headphones and took forever to figure that out.) I'm sure a similar method would work for other non-headphone devices.
I never hated a phone that much as this one. Having it is a nightmare, first no root then Bluetooth issue and now warning: camera failed. I'm gonna return this crap, once I get the replacement one I'll sell it asap.

did you disable or delete anything after rooting? rooting doesn't alter things like this, users with root access do.
my Bluetooth works flawlessly after rooting.
I rooted and disabled many apps. Still have Bluetooth that I use to make calls with my radio. And I sent my buddy the Pandora with unlimited skips yesterday with Bluetooth. It's probably a user error.

lol most likely is a user error.. he messed up his bluetooth n blamed it on rooting smh.. its been said that whatever you do after youre rooted is on you.. if u dont kno wat youre doing with root then i wouldnt mess with it.. as suggested, odin back to stock and if that doesnt fix it then its not user error lol
