Thanks a lot brother :laugh:

I don't think it will remove the unlocked warning or either lock the bootloader again.
It's not possible to lock the bootloader again once it was unlocked. But give it a try and report the results here

Of course it is possible to relock the bootloader, in Motorola's website they teach you how to do it

I relocked my bootloader using this procedure, so yes : it works!

Yes this worked for me . I successfully relocked the bootloader and even the "unlocked bootloader" warning was removed. Special thanks to @pv979

if I'm correct it's the same procedure as on the motorola site except you have to use a different stock rom because the one they provide is only for developer phones.

Note that this doesn't give your warranty back! only lock the bootloader to use stuff like the FRP.

If you unlock the bootloader you lose fingerprint reader?

It doesn't? Then how do you get your warranty back?

@Florensie
Not at all.
Read the terms on the Motorola Unlock site.
@optionalmgrr.la
No, you will only lose all your data. So make a backup first.

@Bender1987 But if you do an RMA for a broken gyrosensor for example, and you locked your bootloader and have flashed the stock rom, how do they know?

@Florensie
Maybe Motorola have saved the unique unlock code from your bootloader and check their database when you send it in for a repair. ^^

Oh, that makes sense. But what if you buy from a retailer that does rma's? Do they use the same warranty system? If so, do they even have access to Motorola's "key database". And how would they link a key to your device.

I do not know. Here in germany Motorola have "datrepair". Last month I send my moto 360 in for a repair.
The Motorola customer service chat guy only ask for the serial no. of my 360, 20min later they send me a DHL label.
So I think even a retailer will first ask Motorola with the serial-no., if the device was repaired before or the bootloader is unlocked or something else happen with the device.

Yeah, cz retailer send it to the official services to get repair (at least that is how they do it in Chile). Also i think that in bootloader mode you can see if the bootloader was ever unlocked.

I dont think so, probably the first custom rom will not have it working but just unlocking your bootloader do not make you lose fingerprint... we do not have NFC or KNOX to make it a deal to have an unlocked bootloader

Can this be circumvented and if so, has it ever been with moto phones?

If you used official unlocking, I'm pretty sure that Moto knows that your phone is unlocked. You've provided some number from your phone to them, don't you?

Did you agree that with unlocking your warranty is void? I mean, they my accept phone for repair/replace/return but for sure they can easily check is it unlocked. Even if you remove warning or somehow relock.

mfastboot erase customize
mfastboot oem fb_mode_clear
mfastboot oem lock
mfastboot reboot
but it always fails at the sparsechunks levels with the error "invalid PIV signed system image".
I'm trying to do this over already having the same firmware flashed as normal before.
Has anyone gone through this?

Phone not right, even with moto's re-lock firmware-HELP

So I requested the relock information from Motorolla and got access to the firmware. However, some of it is correct. Following these directions:
Next flash the images using fastboot:
$ fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
$ fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
$ fastboot reboot-bootloader
$ fastboot flash logo logo.bin
$ fastboot flash boot boot.img
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
$ fastboot flash system system.img
$ fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
$ fastboot erase modemst1
$ fastboot erase modemst2
$ fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
$ fastboot reboot
You also have the option to erase all the data on your device with
$ fastboot erase userdata
$ fastboot erase cache
After performing this sequence, you can relock your device with
$ fastboot oem lock
This came from https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images.
First problem is the first two steps aren't workign as the moto boot isn't even in the firmware provided. Second problem, when i do step oem lock, I'm told to do the oem lock begin command, which I do. Then I get an error message stating my software isn't verified, however on the fastboot screen it states official. So I can't relock the phone, NOR can I get rid of the unlocked bootloaded message.
Next, the phone will not see the Feb security update, says nothing available. When i download it and try to install in the factory recovery, I get an error. I can't recall what it says exactly, but it does try to install.
Any ideas? The phone works, just can't get the phone re-locked or take any software updates, which I'm sure goes right back tot he stupid unlocked bootloader.
Here is the breakdown....
Unlocked does not affect updates.
Logo.bin is really easy to change.
There is a stock rom available to flash with the update included.

The stock rom with update requires TWRP installed. For some reason I cant get the phone to relock nor take the Feb security update.
So use twrp... Not sure what the issue is here.
Using the lock oem command has never worked for anybody with this phone. Not sure why they added that if it doesn't work at all.
This worked for my Moto G 2015 so I assume its the same for Moto X. Disregard motoboot.img and any others files that do not apply to Moto X 2015.
1. Run oem lock begin
2. Flash stock firmare files
3. Relock bootloader
fastboot oem lock begin
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0

Well...if this stupid phone would take TWRP than all be good...but this pos will not. Using WinTools I flash TWRP, says successful, but no die when I try to reboot into recovery. If I do the power and volume truck at "no command" I get the stock recovery not twrp. Starting to really hate this phone. Even wife's S6 is simpler than this.
What happens in fastboot? Not sure what win tools is. Use fastboot then reboot directly into recovery.

Questions
After doing it, wll I receive official OTA updates?
Will I still have unlocked bootloader warning message?
If the 1st question answer is no, is there any other way to relock bootloader and receive OTA updates again?
There are similar instructions on how to re-lock your bootloader in threads like this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
You'll want to follow the instructions and commands that include 'fastboot oem lock' if you wish to lock. Whether you use fastboot or mfastboot, bear in mind your device may be erased whilst re-locking your bootloader. I've linked the June 2017 fastboot firmware as that is the latest firmware we have, and generally you'll only be able to re-lock your bootloader with firmware of the same or later build as that on your device.
Also, ensure that when re-locking your bootloader that you do not have anything custom/non-stock (including TWRP, root etc). Usually, you'll want to re-lock with a clean flash of your firmware anyway. Also, when you've re-locked, you will not be able to flash anything custom and your Motorola warranty will still be void.
For the above reason, once you've booted into your re-locked system, you may wish to leave the 'OEM unlocking' switch enabled in Settings > Developer Options, so should something happen to your system, you have at least the option to unlock your device in the bootloader and flash a custom ROM.
As for your questions:
You should be able to receive OTA updates whether you've got an unlocked bootloader or locked. The OTA will only successfully flash onto devices with stock recovery, stock kernel and an unmodified stock system.
If you've re-locked your bootloader, the bootloader warning should disappear. You can flash a custom logo.bin if you have an unlocked bootloader - this should hide the warning, but won't shorten the delay, and the custom logo.bin may also alter your system (and thus block an OTA flash).
Did a lost my phone???
Hi, I was updating by OTA my XT1641 and It get stucked in a boot loop, every single option in Fastboot mode (except Power OFF) leads to bootloop again. Anyone knows how to solve this???

Restoring xt1609 to stock rom

If you're flashing the stock firmware for your variant of hardware, usually you shouldn't have to worry about unlocking the bootloader. Just use the minimal adb and fastboot tools, issuing these commands (put your device in fastboot mode by holding pwr+vdwn):
fastboot devices
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
**With all of the stock firmware files extracted from your downloaded xt1609firmware.zip in same directory (folder) as your adb and fastboot tools, now you begin flashing each partition of the device, usually as follows:
mfastboot oem fb_mode_set
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
mfastboot flash oem oem.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5

mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
mfastboot erase customize
mfastboot erase clogo
mfastboot oem fb_mode_clear
**And, finally, reboot your device by issuing the below command:
mfastboot reboot
